Anyone experiencing computer speed problems due to Webroot add on's?   Have you disabled the add on's to solve the problem?

Hi @ and welcome to the Community!

I have noticed a slight adverse impact on performance with the Webroot Filtering Extension enabled in Firefox. I have disabled it, partly because of this, but mainly because it doesn't support the search engine that I mainly use (Startpage) and so is of little use to me.

I am aware the Webroot are testing an improved version of the filtereing extension in their beta releases and hopefully this will improve matters for you once introduced to their general release.

If you wish to determine the reputation of a URL with the filtering extension disabled you can always do a manual check on the Brightcloud Lookup page. Here is the link:

If you are interested, a 'Feature Request' has been made to extend the search engines to include Startpage and DuckDuckGo but it looks unlikely to be implemented soon as it has been put "On Hold'.

Hi dseasly

Welcome to the Community Forums.

I have to say that I have detected no performance impact due to the Webroot Addons.  It may be due to the spec of my PC and I would have to say that I suspect that this has something to do with this.

Can you advise as to exactly what has prompted the question, as that my give us a pointer in the matter.

Regards, Baldrick
