Hi blue38jr

Welcome to the Community Forums.

I am guessing here but this is most likely happening when you are playing videos that use Flash?  Where videos do not play on the first try—you just get a green screen?  And if you refresh the page it works again...annoying but it sorts the issue out temporarily?

I am assuming that you have updated the Flash Player to the latest release level?

If not then please do so by downloading the appropriate installer from the Adobe website here (please do not download from 3rd party sites), and when installing make sure that you read each dialog presented by the installation process and make sure that you uncheck any additional software bundled/offerred, unless you are absolutely sure that you want it installed as well as the update).

If the issue is happening when you are using Chrome as you browser then there is no need to download the separate installer as Chrome already includes Adobe® Flash® Player built-in. Google Chrome should automatically update when new versions of Flash Player are available, but if indoubt then check to make sure that you have the latest version of Chrome installed.

Now, if the above is not pertinent or you have the latest Adobe version then we need to try something else.  The root cause of the problem is likely one that relates to your video drivers, but there is a quick fix that you can try; just disable hardware acceleration in Flash. Whilst that may result in a slight decrease in performance, the vidoe should play normally without all the trouble of diagnosing the driver issue and having, most liley, to update those drivers.

To apply the fix you will need to right-click on the video you are playing when the green screen appears, go to Settings, and uncheck the "Enable Hardware Acceleration" box, and from now on your videos should start playing properly.

Not ideal but quick & easy, and a lot less complex than a graphics card driver update.

Let us know how you get on and whether than works for you.

Regards, Baldrick
