Yahoo plans to implement encryption across their services by the end of Q1 of 2014.
The company updates its customers with the latest advancements in its encryption efforts, announcing that traffic between Yahoo data centers is now encrypted.
Yahoo Mail, as well as the Yahoo homepage and all the search queries that run on this page are now accessible over a secure (HTTPS) connection by default.
These Yahoo properties are now supporting by industry-recommended tools to protect data transmission including TLS 1.2, Perfect Forward Secrecy and a 2048-bit RSA key.
Users can also safely visit Yahoo News, Yahoo Sports, Yahoo Finance and Good Morning America on Yahoo by adding “https” before the site URL in their web browser.
The encryption includes also a new Yahoo messenger and encrypted chatting is a part of the company’s plans waiting for the implementation in the nearest future.
