Hi Guys..failed to get this Build updated in my VM. Freezing screen upon restart.

I am at a loss now..unless I start over with a clean install of Windows..😫

That Sherry is what I have done occasionally in the past, but it is not something we should have to do.

@Ssherjj @Jasper_The_Rasper what I'm going to do is install the last build of VMware Workstation 14 Pro to see if that makes any difference as you never know? Probably tomorrow.

That sounds like a great idea Daniel. Maybe there is something to this VM that isn't letting us install these updates, especially when we are not hearing from anyone else who is having the problems that we are having. 🤔

It didn't work so now I'm still on VM 14 Pro but reinstalling the older VMware Tools within the VM to see if that will help? I guess this is the last thing I can try so if it doesn't work I will contact VMware support.

We are not the only ones having issues with Vmware and Insider Builds from here down: https://www.wilderssecurity.com/threads/windows-10-announced-released-29-jul-2015.368734/page-183#post-2811466

  • We’re investigating an issue preventing VMware from being able to install or update Windows Insider Preview builds. Hyper-V is a viable alternative if available to you.

I am glad to see they are investigating it. I posted 3 messages in the feedback hub, 3 on the Insiders Twitter account plus a message to Dona plus we posted in Yammer and that is on top of other messages they had received from others.

I had not noticed the Hyper-V settings before but I had quickly looked through that Blog but somehow never noticed that part about VM Ware

I didn't need to use Hyper-V and I knew about it but I always had VMware WorkStation Pro and it's always been easy until the last couple of Insider previews....
