Im getting the fake update request for flash from the CNN website. Webroot does not seem to detect it.  My player is up  to date.  Any ideas?  I have seen something that says to look for Safari extensions but I have none.  There was also something about stored website data in preferences but none are shown.

Hey @gwknopp ,

So you’re using Safari, correct? If you go to the CNN website on any other browser, do you get the same flash update request?

One thing to consider is installing the ublock origin addon for safari here: https://ublock.org/safari/

If there is any concern over this being a fake flash update request, I would be safe rather than sorry and NOT click install. Flash exploits are one of the most common methods of hijacking a users’ computer.

Additionally, if this pop-up continues after my above suggestion, it is worth reaching out to our support team to find out with their help if it is a legitimate download or not: https://www.webroot.com/us/en/support/home-contact

Please keep us updated!
