He everyone!

Been on Facebook and an item was posted from smartwebuser.com about a scan that I could use for free until tomorrow.

I know that the Webroot product I use at the moment does this anyway but I wonder if it would be a good idea to use it while it's on offer.  Could someone in the know check it out for me?

Thanks.

Thanks.
Our scanning is set to run automatically every single day to ensure no other Security is necessary. By just taking a few minutes to look at the site you posted, it looks fairly sketchy in terms of how things are Marketed (having an autoplay YouTube Fox News clip just leaves a bad taste in my mouth for some reason...).

Proceed at your own discretion. If you choose to do so, you still want to only download Software from the Website of the Official Vendor: http://www.scanguard.com.au/

FACEBOOK !!! :S:S

I wouldn't trust anything posted on Facebook. As you can tell, I'm not a member of Facebook and NEVER will be. Sorry, that's my 2 cents worth. 😉

I think everything that needs to be said has already been said here but to back the winning side of the fence here I will add my two pence here. :)

Just saying that I would never try anything that is put on Facebook, unless it was posted by someone I trust knows what they are talking about and is not just trying to get onto my system for my precious bytes of data *,..,*

Still, if you really want the free scan, try googleing the company's real website and see if they have any offers on that relate to what you see on facebook or try the Twitter page and see what is being said there. Normally if they are doing social advertisement in one domain they will be in another. Try some research before you put your system at risk for a days worth of free stuff :)

Good luck

Thanks Bradforth!

Just what I was thinking anyway, can't for the life of me know what I was thinking about even contemplating using it! Very easy to fall for something like this! 😕 Ignoring it and any others like the plague.
