i was looking at my host file and i found
# Copyright (c) 1993-2009 Microsoft Corp.
#
# This is a sample HOSTS file used by Microsoft TCP/IP for Windows.
#
# This file contains the mappings of IP addresses to host names. Each
# entry should be kept on an individual line. The IP address should
# be placed in the first column followed by the corresponding host name.
# The IP address and the host name should be separated by at least one
# space.
#
# Additionally, comments (such as these) may be inserted on individual
# lines or following the machine name denoted by a '#' symbol.
#
# For example:
#
# 102.54.94.97 rhino.acme.com # source server
# 38.25.63.10 x.acme.com # x client host

# localhost name resolution is handled within DNS itself.
# 127.0.0.1 localhost
# ::1 localhost

Hi gusmeza1738

Welcome to the Community Forums.

Why it is there is a good question but as far as to whether it is malicious or dangerous...I think not given that Webroot's Reputation Lookup says about the site, which is:

URL lookup information

URL:mssplus.mcafee.comCategory & ConfidenceComputer and Internet Security: 93%

Business and Economy: 93%

This is a well known site with strong security practices, and rarely exhibits characteristics that expose the user to security risks. There is a very low probability that the user will be exposed to malicious links or payloads.

So you have no worries in that respect other than the aforementioned question of 'how did it get there'...but I would not worry about that.

But if you are interested then head on over to THIS site for an answer from 'the horse's mouth'.

Hope that helps?

Regards, Baldrick
