Here is instructions for Windows 7: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-CA/windows7/products/features/windows-firewall

Also in WSA you can set to Warn if any process connects to the internet unless explicitly Allowed. https://detail.webrootanywhere.com/agenthelp.asp?n=Changing_firewall_alert_settings it means more pop-ups.

Yeah well that only explains what the settings are. Nothing about advanced settings. And I want to learn how to tighten up Win FW. What to set in the advanced settings.

It's a very simple FW in Windows but it works great as is here is some info: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-ca/windows7/understanding-windows-firewall-settings#section_2 and tweaking http://www.security-faqs.com/how-do-i-configure-windows-7s-firewall.html

Yeah well there are rules of inbound and outbound connections. Some of the rules say remote control, fax and printer, etc. I thought maybe many of those don't need internet access and if blocked could improve my security? But I'm not sure which ones to block or add new rules to tighten up FW.

If you don't know what they do, you can always use the trial and error method for your firewall settings. If it doesn't work then you'll need to turn it back on.

Amit, you can try Windows Firewall Control application.

Windows Firewall Control is a nifty little application which extends the functionality of the Windows Firewall and provides quick access to the most frequent options of Windows Firewall. It runs in the system tray and allows user to control the native firewall easily without having to waste time by navigating to the specific part of the firewall. This is the best tool to manage the native firewall from Windows 8, Windows 7 and Windows Vista. Windows Firewall Control offers four filtering modes which can be switched with just a mouse click.I tried it when I played with Vista Firewall settings and this application is really great to fiddle with MS firewall.
