The problem is not new. However, a recent Surface Pro 6 firmware update may have made things worse. Full Article.
Google, Amazon, Microsoft and Taboola have quietly paid the German start-up behind Adblock Plus, the world’s most popular software for blocking online advertising, to stop blocking ads on their sites. The deals, which are confidential but whose existence has been confirmed by the Financial Times, demonstrate that some of the biggest participants in the $120bn online advertising market see the rise of ad-blocking as a material threat to their revenues. Adblock Plus has become one of the most popular free extensions on Chrome and Firefox browsers in recent years as internet users have attempted to eliminate the interruption of advertising. Eyeo, the German company that produces the software, says it has been downloaded more than 300m times worldwide and has more than 50m monthly active users. Ever since Webroot put forward the extension LastPass without even informing us? me?, I have had nothing but trouble with it - as well, their responses to my concerns/questions/issues, is not adequate and does not help to mitigate the errors I am experiencing. I am beginning to lose confidence in both!
2017 will be quite the interesting year for the Firefox web browser. Mozilla plans to make the switch to WebExtensions in that year, launch a new themes API that is based on that, and will introduce a new default Firefox theme on top of all that. The first changes have been pushed to the Nightly version of the Firefox web browser already. The most visible change is the addition of two new themes that Firefox will ship with from that version on. What this means is that Firefox users can choose one of the three themes to run Firefox with, all without having to head over to the themes repository to download themes first. That’s an unusual failure rate for a single building but what made it odder was that non-Apple devices seemed to be working fine. As the admin, identified by iFixit as systems specialist Erik Wooldridge, wrote in a subsequent Reddit post:
This is probably the most bizarre issue I’ve had in my career in IT. Under the name “Palinopsia Bug” a group of developers report about graphics adapters that remember the contents of your screen even after rebooting the computer. This is achieved by simply accessing the content of the graphic card’s frame buffer. While currently being just a proof of concept, the “Palinopsia Bug” could be a potential severe security issue. November 7th, 2018, By Lawrence Abrams For quite some time, users have been reporting an inconsistent bug in Windows 10 that prevents them from changing the default program associated with a file type. Windows 10 users are stating that when they try to change the default program used to open a particular file extension, such as .txt files, they are unable to associate it with popular Notepad replacements such as Notepad++. On the other hand, they have no problem changing the file association to a different one. "This is a strange bug. It affects some applications, but not others," Chris Hoffman stated in an article on HowToGeek. Windows users who wanted to run a 64-bit version of Firefox in the past were limited to the Nightly Channel up until now as it was the only channel that offered 32-bit and 64-bit versions of Firefox on Windows. All other channels, Stable, Beta and Developer Edition, were not offered as a 64-bit version for the Windows operating system. The situation is different for Mac and Linux versions of Firefox as 64-bit versions for both systems have been made available for some time now by Mozilla. Firefox users who wanted to run 64-bit versions of Firefox on Windows had to either use the Nightly version or switch to forks of the browser such as Pale Moon or Waterfox that are offered as 64-bit versions. Mozilla added 64-bit support on Windows to the Developer Edition of Firefox recently (formerly know as Aurora). When you open the download
Geeks around the world should be happy to know that the new tech-aware Keurig 2.0 machine can be hacked. The machine requires licensed K-Cups, fitted with an RFID tag in order to brew. No RFID tag, no coffee. The 'hack' for this high tech coffee brewer is definately old school low tech: just a little bit of tape. YUP.. that is all you need my friends to be able to use your own custom blend of coffee in the Keurig 2.0 machine and avoid the expensive K-Cups. If you regularly make use of Safari’s Reading List feature to save web content for reading later in your free time, you may be interested in checking out the offline reading feature that’s available for reading list items. This makes sure your reading list items are accessible at all times, even if the iPhone, iPad, or Mac is not online. For those who haven’t tried this feature out, Reading List allows you to save webpages and organize them so that you can check them out later. It’s similar to a bookmark, except that its main focus is written content. However, these saved webpages will still require an internet connection to load up by default and you cannot expect to stay connected to Wi-Fi or LTE at all times. This is exactly where the offline reading list items come in handy. For example, you can load up an iPad, Mac, or iPhone with a bunch of news articles to read before going on a trip.Whether you have an unreliable internet connection or you want to read content while you’re tr
What Is Android Rooting?
You probably have heard about iPhone jailbreak. Rooting is jail-breaking for Androids which allows users to dive deeper into a phone’s sub-system. It’ll allow you to access the entire operating system and be able to customize just about anything on your Android. If you gain root access, you can bypass any restrictions that your manufacturer or carrier may have applied. Moreover, you can run more apps than before, overclock your processor and use custom Rom. Rooting an Android phone allows Android users to boost their handset’s operating performance, install non-approved applications and otherwise modify their phone to their liking. Often inexperienced users are likely to “brick” their phones (make them useless by modifying them incorrectly) if they try the rooting procedure without following proper guidelines. You should root an Android phone carefully, as it normally voids the phone’s warranty. [url=http://www.technotification.com/2015/01/
A quick heads up for people liking to use Google's Chrome browser.. If you plan to run any NPAPI ( the Netscape Plugin Application Programming Interface ) in Google Chrome you can run into problems. Most commonly known plugins that will be affected are Microsoft's Silverlight or Oracle's Java plugin. If you have a Chrome build 42.**** or higher ( more recent ) you will notice that Chrome complains the plugin still needs to be installed even if you have actually installed it. Don't go look for a solution too far or deep as it's plain & simple. Chrome decided not to allow NPAPI based plugins anymore. If the Chrome build's from before September 2015 you can still enable it thru a backdoor fix ( but for those details feel free to PM me as that's deffinitely tech ). So if you want to use those plugins in Chrome there's only one thing to do . Do not update to any chrome build 42 or higher

It led to arrests, breached the Royal Family's security and helped give birth to the UK's first computer crime law. What began as a hack against the Prestel Viewdata system – which opened up access to Prince Philip's mailbox – later led to the arrest of two tech enthusiast journalists and a prosecution, culminating in the UK's first computer crime law. In September, Google launched ARC—the "App Runtime for Chrome,"—a project that allowed Android apps to run on Chrome OS. A few days later, a hack revealed the project's full potential: it enabled ARC on every "desktop" version of Chrome, meaning you could unofficially run Android apps on Chrome OS, Windows, Mac OS X, and Linux. ARC made Android apps run on nearly every computing platform (save iOS). ARC is an early beta though so Google has kept the project's reach very limited—only a handful of apps have been ported to ARC, which have all been the result of close collaborations between Google and the app developer. Now though, Google is taking two big steps forward with the latest developer preview: it's allowing any developer to run their app on ARC via a new Chrome app packager, and it's allowing ARC to run on any desktop OS with a Chrome browser. ARC runs Windows, Mac, Linux, and Chrome OS thanks to Native Client
