Microsoft releases Word, Excel and Powerpoint for Windows 10

Microsoft today released previews of Word, Excel and Powerpoint for Office for Windows 10. The apps can be installed on computers running Windows 10 Technical Preview. Previews of the same apps for smartphones will be released the coming weeks.

The apps can be downloaded from the Windows Store beta which was released together with a new build of Windows 10 Technical Preview recently. The apps are so-called “Universal Apps”  which work on different devices running Windows 10. All versions of Word, Excel and Powerpoint are optimized for touchscreens but smartphone versions of the apps will follow in the coming weeks. The apps that became available today are for laptops, PCs and tablets with touchscreens, according to Microsoft.
