JAPANESE HARDWARE FIRM Toshiba has releasing a range of super fast USB 3.0 storage devices.
The super speed USB 3.0 NAND flash memory USB drives are available in 32GB, 64GB and 128GB capacities.
The firm said that the use of double data rate (DDR) NAND flash storage means that the memory sticks can read or write 25GB of data in just five minutes. It said that this is about 22 times as fast as a USB 2.0 equivalent memory stick.
"The drives are powered by the USB port and can read data at speeds up to 222 [MBps]," said Toshiba. "The maximum write speed of the new flash memory drives is 205 [MBps], more than twice that of previous models. Toshiba's new drives are fully backward compatible with [...] USB 2.0 and USB 1.1 standards."
