DWP for Mac - Uninstalling on its own?
iMac 2001 macOS Sierra Version 10.12.3 (16D32) I've installed DWP Mac 1.0.057 Installer on our student iMacs in our lab and for some reason the DWP is just disapearing and the proxy is being removed from the browsers?? On the initial install it displays the DWP icon on the top menu bar. I apply the proxy setting to each of the browsers and then "HIDE" the button. However, for some reason the proxy settings are not "sticking"?? After a few days of use the browers are reverting to their previous non-proxy settings?? Is there a way to verify that the DWP starts every time the iMac starts? (If it has updates and restarts.) ** Also, is there some way to confirm the DWP is running once I "HIDE" the button? ** HELP! Thanks, JB
Remote installation via GPO... Error %%1274
I searched first, but didn't find this topic. However, I think there must be more people with this problem. I am trying to deploy via GPO, but several of the machines never accept the installation. The logs show error %%1274, and verbiage like this: "Failed to apply changes to software installation settings. The installation of software deployed through Group Policy for this user has been delayed until the next logon because the changes must be applied before the user logon. The error was : %%1274" "The assignment of application Webroot SecureAnywhere from policy AV Deploy failed. The error was : %%1274" "The Group Policy Client Side Extension Software Installation was unable to apply one or more settings because the changes must be processed before system startup or user logon. The system will wait for Group Policy processing to finish completely before the next startup or logon for this user, and this may result in slow startup and boot performance."
No notification of outdated last seen date?
As an MSP I use the Webroot SA GSM portal to manage all my clients. I can't find any way to monitor or be alerted when clients devices haven't checked in for an extended time. If I go into the "sites" individually I can see a Last Seen date, but that is not an option if you have many sites. I also looked in the GSM dashboard tab, but don't see a chart showing that information. Isn't one of the main purposes of having an online portal so that you can verify that all your systems are updated and working? I recentely lost a client because we sold them this under the impression that we would contact them in the event that one of their systems was infected or outdated. They removed webroot and we didn't know anything about it. Any suggestions, or tips, maybe something I'm missing??

The specified network file name is no longer available
I currently run my wireless clients over a VLAN. Lately (not sure when it started) my clients would get the message "The specified network file name is no longer available" when accessing the file shares. I disabled Webroot and the problem has gone away. V 188.8.131.52 If the clients are connected via ethernet they see no issue (Webroot enabled).
Quite new to these areas but was wondering: Some antivirus applications require exclusions to be defined for Malwarebytes Anti-Malware, so that they do not interfere with Malwarebytes operation and vice versa. I would like you to do this for your Antivirus. These are typically referred to as exclusions or ignore list entries. The following is a list of Malwarebytes programs which should be placed on an Exclusion list if required. Do I need to add the exclusions they have given me? John

I called Webroot because I did not or will not ever pre-authorize ANY charges,so my call was a question about buying a 3rd party conract (PC Magazine) They informed me that this was a legit company and that they would honor the newly purchached contract,so I bought it! Got my ne key code and set myelf up for another year only to find that Webroot today ON A SUNDAY took money from my bank account for ANOTHER new account....This was not ok'd by me for one and also it appears that they went ahead and over rode my new existing account. This is very bad business and I am not happy about the way this ahs been handled! It seems every year I have issues with Webroot in one fashion or another! Any suggestions on how to get this rectified without phone and email tag??? I Not a happy customer!

Hello, I am fairly new to webroot and am having some issues in regards to tickets that get generated in connectwise based on threat alerts that trigger emails from the distribution groups, these created tickets come in as catch all. I"m told that I can use unityAPI through postman to configure my system to properly generate tickets in connectwise that are not catch all I have been trying to understand postman, UnityAPI however i'm not having much luck setting this up, i've watched the demos but they don't really explain very well. Wondering if someone could procvide some feed back on how to do this Regards Jay

Webroot causing printing problems on Terminal Server
Since installation of Webroot on our Terminal Server, we are experiencing problems printing from our ERP system. Either nothing prints, or any bold text is missing from the prints. Does Webroot have a history of affecting printing in this way? Is there a solution? Terminal server is Windows 2003 R2 Enterprise SP2 (I know, unsupported by MS!). Any help welcome.

Issues with Webroot Endpoint Protection on AWS Windows Servers?
I'm interested to know if anyone else is experiencing issues with Webroot Endpoint Protection on AWS WIndows servers. I've had endpoints show up multiple times in the admin console (using multiple licenses) and was told this may be associated with a recent update intended to better handle registering VMs. Now I have AWS Windows servers (2008 and 2012) that had the endpoint client stop reporting in (last seen date 2/8). When I checked the servers I found the Webroot client was not installed. No Webroot folder in the Program Files (x86) folder. But there are remnents of webroot in the registry based on a search for webroot or wsasme. To Summarize: Webroot client installed on AWS Servers (VM) with the -clone option Endpoints register with the console and regular scans logged on a daily basis for several days Endpoints register a second time with the console and new entries start logging daily scans, initial entries stop logging activity (last seen date on initial entries is the same
Can malicious software uninstall Webroot?
I started getting pop-ups on my browser (Chrome for PC). I looked in the system tray, and the Webroot icon was there. That's curious, I thought. So I clicked on the Webroot icon. It vanished! That's weird, I thought. So I used Explorer to go restart Webroot, and the whole Webroot folder was missing from c:program files and c:program files (x86). Weird. So I visited the GSM console, and found that my endpoint had been deactivated. Oh oh... So I ran a few different malicious software removal programs. Hitman Pro found and deleted a Chrome extension and deleted it. I reinstalled Webroot, and the icon came back.

Threat found associated with trusted vendor
SecureAnywhere just quarantined a file named "silentuninstall.exe". The file was supplied by Matrox as a part of their "MIL" product. I keep a copy of their installation CD on this computer's drive, which is where the file came from. I trust this vendor, and without the file I'll have an incomplete installation set for their software. Any suggestions for how to proceeed? Do I trust SecureAnywhere has good reason for the quarantine and leave it there, or remove it from quarantine under the assumption it is a false positive? Thanks!
Scan via web console W7 to W10 remote laptop
Hi I am currently testing WR end point with the intention of introducing it to my customer base. I am a managed provider and will be using the web console (WC) to manage my clients. I have tested on W7 PC's so far all ok but our W10 remote office laptop stopped scanning over a week ago even though I initiated several manual scans to no avail? Any ideas? xT
Hi All, I am going to be looking at reducing the Internet access a number of our servers currently have. Ideally limiting them to the bare minimum of connectivity. In terms of how this affects webroot clearly updates are likely to be a problem. Is there any solution available to deal with this? My initial thought is a proxy with Internet access to distribute the updates, a webroot WSUS basically. If not, are there certain ports/urls etc that I can whitelist and at least heavily reduce connectivity rather than disable it all together. Any suggestions on how to best tackle this would be great.
Webroot forensics questions
Hi Webroot community! I have a few questions about Webroot forensics. Background User clicks URL in phising e-mail and manually downloads and runs payload from the resulting landing page. First seen (endpoint) 09:42. A minute, or so, after initialization it had run it's course and encrypted about 10GB worth of data across 3 different servers. The server where the webroot client is installed only had a few hundred megs encrypted - the users profile folder and foxit reader install directory. Most of the files being encrypted was a fileserver and an application server (servers without webroot). At 09:48 the process is determined bad (DD). What is expected behaviour after DD? Remediation/rollback? Does the client only report back to the webroot network at set poll interval or does it treat threats differently? How long should I wait for webroot to do it's thing? Is there a way for me to observe webroot remediation in real time (not indirect
