console sessions time out sending me back to the login page for secureanywhere and i cant get my work done. this has been a continuing problem for the last 2 months and it seems to me tech support is just skirting the issue. The last response was to tell me to check logging in from outside my network which is just ludicrous. we are not consumers. having doubts about my renewal in May.
If so, what are your plans after EOL? According to this article, 37% of organizations surveyed are just going to keep using it even though there will be no patches or security updates. You guys having trouble making a case for upgrades or are your organizations on top of it?
Hi, I am using a business trial and need help to figure out how to setup or enable web filter extension that can give us web reputation. When I click on scan my computer and it only scans my C drive why not scan all my connected drives? How can I enable clients to Poll every hour rather than daily? Thanks,
My alerts and any details I have been able to find in the console all refer to paths with variables that are not resolvable. Is it possible to get the full actual path of malware rather than it showing with variables like %appdata%??? The problem is I do not know which user so I cannot determine the path and more importantly who. This is an example of the issue. Who's appdata? Hello, We are new to Webroot and we have purchased it mainly because it integrates with LabTech. After activating our license and intergrating that license with LabTech I cannot seem to connect to the Endpoint Protection once logged into the SecureAnywhere portal. Once i click "Go to EndPoint Protection" it sends me back to the login screen. Any assistance would be appreciated.
Hey All, I wanna share my response to a fellow community member and Webroot Ambassador@GryozoK in a post he made in a private area about Sophos Intercept X and it competing with Webroot. This will be a long post but I'll first place his quote first and then below my actual response due to my experience in vetting out all the "Next-Gen" Antivirus/Endpoint Security products and my real world review of it. I thought this would be beneficial to all the community as it dispels some of what Sophos is actually doing with Intercept X. Here is @GryozoK Post: Sophos says that InteceptX: 1. is ligth-weight agent 2. no agent daily updates 3. can protect against all 24 of the cpu level exploits 4. detects mass encryption (ransomware) 5. cut off connection to the attacking host 6. remediating any encrypted documents using a local mirror image copy All these sayings above seems to be similar to what WSA advantages used to be up until now - and actually WSA cann
As of lately a majority of my endpoints don't accept agent commands, it says they either elapsed, executed (but is never executed on the endpoints) or not received. Sometimes it can take days or weeks for the endpoints to show executed even though they check in every day. Changing policy is instant. After a remote session and submit logs to Webroot, Webroot says there is no fix for this at this time. Does anyone else experience this issue?
Is there a Webroot secureanywhere removal tool? I seem to have a broken install. I was messing with deployment tools testing the msi deployment. Webroot secureanywhere is running, I see the icon and can open it. It's not showing up in the console online though. I tried using the msi /x option to remove it but it tells me that it's only valid for products that are currently installed.
I have a PC that I set the polling interval for 15 minutes. It updates the Last Seen every 15 minutes. I then issue an agent command (Scan). The command sits in the Recent & Outstanding Commands window with a status of "Not yet received". No matter the polling interval OR if I go to the PC and right-click the webroot icon and select "Refresh configuration". The agent command never gets run. Tech Support has not been able to help me with this. Any ideas from the community?
Hello, new member here! We are running Web Security Service (Saas). All lot of our users keep experiencing intermittent "stops" when they are trying to access the internet. They get "page cannot be displayed" etc. We simply restart the DWP service on their PC and it seems to work ok after that. The problem is, we can't keep doing that without finding out WHY it keeps happening. When we try running diagnostics (Control key/Right Click) the window pops up, we click Start but nothing happens - it just sits there. Any ideas?
I went in to the GSM console 3 days ago and whitelisted several a couple for a site yet when I look at Webroot on one of those endpoints nothing shows up under Block/Allow files. It is all done via the GSM because when I try and and "allow" files on the endpoint it says I can't and that they must be added via the console. So.... what am I doing wrong?
Hi folks, We can add the option "shutdown webroot" check here: http://prntscr.com/ico9f6 on the policies manager for the agent, i get a captcha when click on shutdown but is there an option we can set a admin password or PIN when that option is selected? that way only the admin can shut it down.
I finally had some time to look at WSA and Webroot Endpoint protection and I have to admit that I'm really excited about the product. Like I said I still do have some questions:

Logfile:There are some informations in the WRLOG.log which I don't understand or can't relate to anything: [524832/0000001D] [(null)]; [Flags: 00001000.0]; Type: 3 (4661)
Rollback/Journaling: Where can I find out what applications and which application objects are getting journaled? And can you manually do a rollback or extract data from the journal?
Monitoring: How long are unknown processes monitored? Let's say I've got a self-made script which won't exist in the wild; will every change by this script get monitored forever(without whitlisting it)?
Firewall: Does the WSA firewall only work in combination with the Windows firewall? And is the firewall compatible with a proxy server?
From what I read WSA also includes a webfilter; can we manually block websites?
During my test I notice
HiWorking for an MSP and I am noticing an emerging issue with the identity shield causing Chrome to hang or launch with a blank screen. The circumstances are: Windows 10 2004 January 2021 Windows 10 CU installed Webroot installed and up to date Nvidia graphics card (no specific model) Chrome installed and up to dateIf all of these are fulfilled except for the January CU, the problem does not occur. It also does not seem to occur on machines without Nvidia graphics. I have seen 10 instances of this since yesterday, and was able to replicate the issue on brand new machines. The workaround is to set the application protection for the chrome.exe to allow rather than protect.
The Sonicwall Antivirus is suddenly identiifying Webroot dowloads as Trojans. Can someone from Webroot please contact Sonicwall to correct this? From what I have read, Java updates and Sophos are also being flagged as Trojans. They are both working with Sonicwall to correct the situation. Can someone from Webroot do the same since it may not be the same signature that is blocking webroot. It does not seem to prevent webroot from working, but it does prevent version updates and fresh installs. Thanks for looking into this.
Let's have some fun! Post your favorite system admin memes! :robotlol: I bet between all of us, we've got a lot of good ones.
Hi, i'm trying webroot endpoint protection on a little number of test workstations and I'm having some issues on "protecting" webroot to be intentionally removed from the end user. - Even if i selected not to display the program on the control panel the entry is always present and the software is easy uninstallable by the end user (Workstation 8.1 PRO) - is there any way to lock with a password an uninstall attempt? Regards
We want to remove webroot from the company wide endpoints. How to accomplist this via centralized solution? Either by GPO, Power shell or task schedular or any other solution provided by you? We don't want to do this manually on each computer. Can we do this via running commants on each individual computers? Please send this solution asap. Thanks.
Hey, Wanted to run something by you all as this has been on my mind and was also brought up to me by a client. So in a scenario where a user has WSA on their OS X system, and they are exposed or have come into contact with malware designed for Windows based systems, say through an email attachment. The client and myself want to know if Webroot will detect it (it hasn't in some cases), those files and take action on them so that the OS X user doesn't become a mule to pass on malware to a Windows based user. My fear is that since the Windows based malware can't technically "run" in an OS X environment, will the WSA agent simply ignore it and treat it just as a benign file because it can't execute anyway in OS X? They've switched from ESET to Webroot and ESET used to detect whatever malware it saw regardless of whether or not it could run in the OS X environment. Thoughts??? Thanks John Hart Nerds On Site
Hi I have a technical question about Webroot Endpoint memory usage. I've found Webroot commits around 600mb of memory when it only uses about 7mb. We have customers asking about it, as this as that's a massive amount of memory for a program to reserve? You can see it for yourself in Resource Monitor under memory and commit. Why does Webroot reserve so much and use so little? Thanks in advance!
We have far too many overrides and our customer is compaining about it - so I started to create GOOD overrides some days ago. I went through the entire (very long) undetermined software seen list and so far I created 435 overrides by 2 days ago evening. When today I create a "All Undetermined Software seen" report with a date intetval: today only, I still have 800+ overrides. Unfortunately, the UI or the export only shows Cloud determination and does not show manual determination (that I did), I am simply unable to check whether all these files listed here in today's report as undetermined were new ones or this list may also include those ones I already defined as GOOD overrides by 2 days ago. All I can see is that there are plenty similar file names in exactly the same folders I already created a GOOD override for days ago. Can you advice, please? What does the latest "All Undetermined Software seen" report contain? Does it contain thos
Hello, I am testing Webroot Business Endpoint protection for my business. We have a number of Mac systems in addition to Windows. Webroot software installs fine on the Mac but the managment console offers much less information and fewer features for the installed Mac systems. I have not found much clarifiation on what can and cannot be done on Mac via the managment console. Is it possible to cenrtally manage mac in the same way as windows machines? Thanks. George
