Commit memory very high!
Hi I have a technical question about Webroot Endpoint memory usage. I've found Webroot commits around 600mb of memory when it only uses about 7mb. We have customers asking about it, as this as that's a massive amount of memory for a program to reserve? You can see it for yourself in Resource Monitor under memory and commit. Why does Webroot reserve so much and use so little? Thanks in advance!
Malware on company website
I recently visited the website of a new company that I am now working for, a mgt. Agency with many business entities. The home site comes up with malware problem and most of their other sites do as well. I use Webroot on my PC and this is how I noticed this problem. I informed the company District sales mgr. and they replied we don't see that on our computer? I told them you do not have a secure site for your auto pays at all. You problably do not have any anti malware software. Am I wrong? What should I tell them? Thank you.
How to block USB Storage Devices
This link mentions that Secure Anywhere Endpoint Protection can “Lock down ports and devices such as USB, CD and DVD Drives” - We’re looking to possibly wanting to lock down USB Storage devices from being access on our machines. How/where can I configure this in our Webroot Policy? http://wrpolska.pl/wp-content/uploads/2013/01/WSA.pdf
WRSVC hangs on startup event message
I have an old Windows 2003 32bit server hosted in a hyper-v instance with web root installed. On boot of the OS I get an message box saying one or more services failed to start. In the event long i have the message that the WRSVC hung on startup. After I sign in, and go into services, it is running. I have the WR firewall disabled and WR seems to be running fine otherwise. Thoughts? -Pete
Help with deploying new Key Code
Wonder if someone can help me. I'm currently trialling Webroot Global Site Manager, and have generated some new Key Codes to deploy to endpoints. My question is this: I have used both the .exe and an .msi with the new keycode to install. If webroot is already installed, it just opens the GUI (if it's enabled). I was assured that the key code should over write the key code currently in place. Is there an easy way of doing this? When we do eventually migrate to the new console, we have a lot of clients that we are currently deploying via .msi. It would be a royal pain to have to uninstall nearly 1000 endpoints to just have a new key code. Any ideas?
Is there a way to temporarily disable scanning?
I need a way to temporarily disable scanning on a managed workstation so I can run diagnostics and install problematic software. Every other A/V product that I've ever tried has had a way to disable scanning for 10, 15, 30 minutes and then AUTOMATICALLY have scanning re-enabled. Thanks Phil
Webroot SecureAnywhere and Encryption Software (Bitlocker, Dell Data Protection, TrueCrypt, etc.)
Hello, my name is Johnny and I work for Webroot in the Enterprise Support department. In the past few weeks there has been quite a bit of discussion around encryption software and Webroot. This topic has been coming up more in the office, on and in forums, and in speaking to customers and prospects though the calls, tickets, etc. I would like to raise a discussion around the topic and share my findings. About two weeks ago one of my colleagues ran some tests with Webroot on fully encrypted drives using a variety of encryption software and operating systems. He concluded that there was no negative interaction in any of the cases. Specifically he tested Bitlocker (on 64-bit Windows 7, 8, and 8.1) and Dell Data Protection (on 64-bit Windows 7). My experience with Webroot has shown Webroot is compatible with all encryption software. In almost all cases, we work right out of the box without any configuration needed. In rare circumsta
C.ertificate errors when trying to login into "My Account".
One of our pc's display certificate errors when trying to login into "My Account". I have added webroot and webrootanywhere as an excecption in our filtering list, though I don't think that is the issue. It is not happening on other machines. Any suggestions where I can look to see what would be causing this "block".
Changing System Cleaner Settings
I'd like to change some settings for the system cleaner, but it rejects changes because they need to be applied via the admin console. I have yet to find any settings for this in the admin console, or any way of overriding GUI changes for system cleaner and active process control. Any thoughts?
Sophos Intercept X Comparison
Hey All, I wanna share my response to a fellow community member and Webroot Ambassador@GryozoK in a post he made in a private area about Sophos Intercept X and it competing with Webroot. This will be a long post but I'll first place his quote first and then below my actual response due to my experience in vetting out all the "Next-Gen" Antivirus/Endpoint Security products and my real world review of it. I thought this would be beneficial to all the community as it dispels some of what Sophos is actually doing with Intercept X. Here is @GryozoK Post: Sophos says that InteceptX: 1. is ligth-weight agent 2. no agent daily updates 3. can protect against all 24 of the cpu level exploits 4. detects mass encryption (ransomware) 5. cut off connection to the attacking host 6. remediating any encrypted documents using a local mirror image copy All these sayings above seems to be similar to what WSA advantages used to be up until now - and actually WSA cann
Citrix Provisioning & Webroot
We're implementing/still testing a virtual desktop infrastructure using Citrix XenDesktop 7.6 running atop VMware vSphere 5.5. The environment is built, support servers running, etc. and we're working on master image deployment via Citrix PVS, but we're running into trouble when it comes to WSA installations. According to the documentation, running WSA is supported within the virtual environment, either using the -clone or -uniquedevice commandline option. We're building WSA into our master image and we've tried it both ways (used both command line options), but when we provision our virtual machines, we don't see those registering within the Webroot Admin Console. When we used -uniquedevice, we saw 1 provisioned VM register in the console but with continual refreshes, that same instance in the Admin Console would change names, our assumption was that we were seeing the last provisioned VM to check in. When we used -clone, to be honest I'm not exactly sure
Question re: Webroot & My Business Website
Hello, This morning I googled my website name "Dandy Shopper". There is an orange "!" by all 4 of my website links saying, "WEBROOT - Reputation: "SUSPICIOUS". Why is that? I have a legitimate website. Please help me solve this problem! Thank you so much. Respectfully submitted, JoAnn Koening
How long does it take for upgrading?
I see a new version for Mac has been released since 8 days, a new version for Windows has been released since 17 days. However, all agents in my clients are stil the old version. Mac is 188.8.131.52 Windows is 184.108.40.206 I know they said not everyone will receive the update at the same time, but one or two weeks should be enough? Any problem with upgrading?
