In Windows 8.1 under Task Manager > Details I see WRSA.exe is running under the Windows Vista "Operating System Context." I'm curious if Webroot staff have any comment on that. I'm not claiming this is an issue since it doesn't seem to be that important based on my research - just curious about their thoughts.
Hi Expert, we have several FalsePositive due to the fact that softwarevendors using "unusual comression methods" also used by many Malware. So most of our reported infections as W32.Malware.Gen are FP. That sucks. Sure we can try to ask the vendor not to use these methods but we are not willing to do that for every software vendor our employees uses software from. Sure we can report that as FP due to the webroot Support - but this is not implemented in the Console (I have to manual c&p). Sure we can do an override (but thats not what is suggested from webroot to do) so how do you handle your W32.Malware.Gen FP?
I was hoping one of the experts can explain what's going on to me? We have about 40 laptops that we're starting to add to our Webroot console. Upon polling through Group Management, they seem to come and go whenever I refresh or jump to the different Views. The All Endpoints view doesn't display all the laptops I've added at once. I thought that once they "phoned home" to the console that they would remain in the Endpoint lists but that's not the case here. For example, just while typing this post, my coworker next to me (503-307) his laptop is showing up in the first poll but when I refresh the view, his laptop with another disappear and are replaced by mine (503-308) and another coworkers. Refreshing again shows 503-307 is back and now 503-311 joined the group. 308, 318 and 325 are no where to be listed. I'm not changing anything that would prompt my laptop to disappear from the console... just typing here at the forum. I've looked at the other vi

Samsung and Mozilla are teaming up on the future of Web browsing. The Firefox maker is collaborating with Samsung on a new Web browser engine known as Servo, which Mozilla said "is an attempt to rebuild the Web browser from the ground up on modern hardware, rethinking old assumptions along the way." >> Learn More. Hi All, Thanks in advance for your time in reading and responding to this query. Just wondering if there is a way to account for daylight savings adjustment in time zone settings under the user account settings within the SecureAnywhere online console? I am in Sydney Australia and the only time option I get is EST (more accurately AEST - Australian Eastern Standard Time, which is UTC+10), however at the time of writing this post, it is currently AEDT (Australian Eastern Daylight Time, which is UTC+11). As a result, all the logs, reports and events are all 1 hour out. I can not seem to work out how to manually perform a UTC adjustment. I appreciate that I am able to set the location differently, though this is not a suitable solution. Look forward to your thoughts.
Hi Could you assist me we these two questions: 1st scenario I use 10 keycodes within one console. Each of them is valid fo 10 devices. In the console I see that I have 48/50 agents installed. How can I check on which keycode (or on which 2 keycodes) I have two installation slots available? 2nd scenario I use 10 keycodes witihin one console but after a while I decided that it's more convenient for me to create a separate console for each keycode. Can I still do it? If yes is the procedure the same as usuall (registering new account withe same customer details but different keycode)? I'd appreciate any help
Hello Experts, These two Trojans were found on a pc during a scan from another software provider, results were Infected, Signature, Trojan, but was not able to cure either of them. Ran another scan using WebRoot software and no threats were found. Are these Trojans a valid threat? If so, how are they to be cured? Thanks, Dee
Hi I wonder what is the actual difference between these two. I don't have an in-depth knowledge about how they work so I'm not sure if my thinking is correct. I understand that remediation is removing malicious code from a file. Rollback on the other hand doesn't remove the code but instead restores the whole file to its previous state. In some context both of them may seem to be doing pretty much the same thing. What's the real difference between them? Which one is better?
Hi, we are currently looking into adding webroot into our portfolio for our smb customers. We usually recomend Trend Worry Free Business Advanced, which comes with a plugin for Microsoft Exchange that is used to scan incoming mail for spam, viruses etc. Which Webroot product should we be looking at for a similar offering? Thanks, Mike
Whenever I start desktop in Windows 8, I get the following message: There is a file or folder called c:Program which could cause certain applications to not function correctly. Renaming it to c:Program1 would solve this problem. Would you like to rename it now? The options are rename or ignore. Where is this message coming from, is it dangerous, and how do I get rid of it.
I am a software developer. As such, I may compile and test a progra 20-30 times per day. Starting this week, I am getting a pop-up from WebRoot that my program is trying to access the internet (its not). The box gives me 3 options: Block 'Allow Once' or 'Allow Always'. I picked 'Allow Always'. I get this almost every time I try to run the program after a compile - very annoying. Help!
Hello, I'm trying to find out if it's necessary to create a rule to permit traffic on TCP Port 25 from a server on our domain to our main Exchange mail server for the the purpose of sending out email outside of our domain (in this case to customers and suppliers from our billing systems). I'm well aware of the risks of creating open relay's on mail platforms and have taken steps to secure the Exchange server, but I still can get the message to route from the billing system to the Exchaneg Server, has anyone got any experiance if this is necessary with Webroot and if so what the rule would look like. Any contributions would be welcome :D
We have multiple companies setup within our business family. Each company has a Web Security "Group" and each of the employees is a member of the respective Group. One of the GM's is looking for reporting on his company specifically. He would like the following metrics weekly: * Top 10 sites visited * Top 10 blocked sites * Time spent on the internet The kicker here is there are about 12 employees in this group. As best as I can figure out so far I am forced to configure 3 reports for *each of the 12 users....or 36 reports. I dont think that number is conducive to meaningful or easy-to-read data for the GM. I would like to find a way to generate 3 reports something like this: * One report that includes all 12 users (known as "Group") - Top 10 sites visited * One report that includes all 12 users (known as "Group") - Top 10 blocked sites * One report that includes all 12 users (known as "Group")&
