How long does it take for upgrading?
I see a new version for Mac has been released since 8 days, a new version for Windows has been released since 17 days. However, all agents in my clients are stil the old version. Mac is 18.104.22.168 Windows is 22.214.171.124 I know they said not everyone will receive the update at the same time, but one or two weeks should be enough? Any problem with upgrading?
Citrix Provisioning & Webroot
We're implementing/still testing a virtual desktop infrastructure using Citrix XenDesktop 7.6 running atop VMware vSphere 5.5. The environment is built, support servers running, etc. and we're working on master image deployment via Citrix PVS, but we're running into trouble when it comes to WSA installations. According to the documentation, running WSA is supported within the virtual environment, either using the -clone or -uniquedevice commandline option. We're building WSA into our master image and we've tried it both ways (used both command line options), but when we provision our virtual machines, we don't see those registering within the Webroot Admin Console. When we used -uniquedevice, we saw 1 provisioned VM register in the console but with continual refreshes, that same instance in the Admin Console would change names, our assumption was that we were seeing the last provisioned VM to check in. When we used -clone, to be honest I'm not exactly sure
HP launches Helion Cloud Platform for government
HP Launches Helion Cloud Platform for Government by Jeffrey Burt A brief summary: The solution builds off HP's larger efforts in the cloud, including the $1 billion being invested in R&D. Hewlett-Packard is rolling out a private cloud offering for government agencies that is based on the Helion cloud platform the tech vendor announced three weeks ago. HP's Helion Managed Private Cloud for Public Sector is designed to give governments on all levels—federal, state and local—a managed and dedicated private cloud solution that enables them to create a shared service model across multiple departments, with the agencies essentially playing the role of IT brokers. The agencies can manage and monitor the use of resources via a Web-based portal. The technology enables the cloud platform to rapidly scale, direct services to their users and effectively control costs by letting agencies pay only for what they use. The Helion solution—a highly automated private
ID Shield Issue on Hungarian OS
Hi, I work with (implement) Webroot protceted systems for 8+ years, so I have always interested in the development of this company and its products. I was one of the beta testers of the new WSA product, too. Now, I tell you this because soon after the public release at the end of 2011 I noticed the the ID shiled stopped protecting my machine - and some tests proved it happened on every pc we tested. I have reported this some times already buit still I see it is not working at all. Having done some more tests, I fugred out that my very first thougth of the cause being my Hungarian OS was wrong - it does not protect on English OS either. Furthermore, support now keeps telling me that ID shiled shall protect browsers only - but as you will see below, the beta protected _any_ app I added to the protceted app list. Well, otherwise why is there a possiblity to maynually add any app? All the browsers are auto-added upon first run. Sidenote: the keylogger wer
Windows Server 2019 ver 1809 compatibility
I understand that 2019 is ‘supported’ and listed here; LINK, however Webroot does not seem to disable or put Windows Defender in to passive mode on Server 2019 like it would for Windows 10. It also does not show as a listed Security provider in Settings-->Windows Security-->Open Windows Security-->Virus & Threat protection-->Manage providers (link on the right). This leaves the Windows Defender Antivirus Service set to Automatic and running. We all know that less is more when it comes to the amount of antivirus agents on a single machine. I have been unable to find any documentation on your site or in the community regarding 2019 best practices or when it will be fully compatible. Please advise. Thanks, Nic
Registry key (WRData>RSP)
How does the following registry key get populated? We have had several instances where this value is populated and it causes issues for our users. Once we blank it out, everything is back to normal. One instance where this happens is when our users connect to VPN for another company we support. This key gets updated with server names inside that customers environment which obviously won’t work. Trying to understand if the their VPN process is updating this key directly or if Webroot is populating this key based on the network configuration at some point in time? Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\WRData\RSP
How Do You Handle Irrationality with a User?
So I'm curious to know what everyone else thinks about the subject. We all encounter users who cannot be reasoned with, no matter how hard we try. What do you do to handle those users? I wrote an article on this very topic: http://www.thanksaj.com/2014/07/encountering-irrationality-its-when-not-if/ Please let me know what you think of it and also we can discuss the topic in general here! Thanks,
Windows 10 machine locks up when Webroot installer is run.
I have a Windows 10 machine that locks up and becomes unresponsive when the Webroot installer is run. I tried installing in safe mode - the installer runs ok, webroot updates and seems stable; but when you boot in normal mode, the system locks up on login and stays at the login screen. Only once you enter a user pass a try to login does the issue occur. The system is fine while still at the user selection screen. Would appreciate any ideas or if a similar issue has appeared for others.

Endpoints needs attention, even after clean up...
Hi, I was wondering why my site is always displaying the "endpoints need attention". I cleaned up the computers. I did many full scans after and all of them said Protected and did not show any infected files anymore. But in my console I see the "endpoints need attention, last threat on 11-16-2016 (2 days before)" for the same 2 computers. Is there a way to reset in the console so that they are now viewed as protected? I don't know if you understand my issue...< Thanks !
Continuing to get sessions timing out on console logins for secureanywhere
console sessions time out sending me back to the login page for secureanywhere and i cant get my work done. this has been a continuing problem for the last 2 months and it seems to me tech support is just skirting the issue. The last response was to tell me to check logging in from outside my network which is just ludicrous. we are not consumers. having doubts about my renewal in May.
Using Artisteer ... cut and paste causes a reset ...
Hi ... I've used the recommended allow in identity protection for the .exe file of artisteer, but this is not working. For some reason it completely resets back to it's original state ... I am cutting and pasting from notepad and Microsoft Expression Web 4 (which could be the culprit) All this stops if I shut down Webroot completely. :womanmad:
Webroot web console - can't get to any sites
Can login, but when I click on any site to manage it, I get kicked back to the login screen. Have tried Chrome and IE both, at different times. We are an MSP and my techs say this is a problem for them too, just depends on the day/time whether they can get in. We have opened a ticket with Support at least two weeks ago, and nobody has contacted us. This is a big problem as we can't manage our customers AV.
Add a PC on a different network
Hi There I have two offsite users who have their own LAN, router, etc. but which are officially part of our company. I need to configure a new PC for one of them (installing applications etc.) and I've configured our LAN at my end (the one I will connect to so that I can install software) to install Webroot SecureAnywhere Antivirus via MSI/group policy. I've got the spare slots on our Webroot licence, so that's all good, but once the PC has reached its destination LAN, will it report in to the management console properly, connect to the web to update itself, etc.? Do I need to set up any new Webroot policies to help this happen, and if so with what settings? I hope that it does all work "out of the box" as it were, as it would make my life easier. The users at this remote location are pretty clumsy when it comes to PC security - they've got themselves infected with spambots two or three times in the last year - so anything that helps to nix problems like that befor
