I keep getting first scan not complete. Scan view only showing time e;apsed and no files scanned. Just recently renewed subscription, but problem is pre-renewal. MacBook Air.

Welcome to the community! I’m sorry to hear you’re having trouble getting this first scan finished. The first step would be to either:
1) Uninstall and reinstall Webroot, trying to run that initial scan again
2)Reach out to Webroot support and ask them to guide you through some troubleshooting steps. You can contact them here: http://webroot.com/us/en/support/home-contact
