Webroot kills inflected character typing
When I want to type an inflected character, one with an umlaut or accent or tilde, normally I simply depress the base key--the letter "e," let's say--and within a second a selection of the inflected forms of that character appear and I can choose which one I want by selecting its number. With Webroot running, I cannot do that. I have to shut Webroot down entirely to regain that abillity. Is there a fix for this problem?
4 PCs showing up in Console by not my Mac
Hi team, I have purchased Webroot for my Library Computers. I have 4 PCs and 1 Mac. The 4 PCs showup in my console online, however my Mac does not. The Mac was the first computer to have Webroot installed, followed by the PCs. Any reason why I can't see my Mac on the console?
App always running in dock?
Hi there, just bought and installed Webroot on various macs and PCs at home. I've noticed that even though there's a menu bar item up the top on the macs, the app is always open and running in the dock as well. I've done some googling and seen that this has been discussed multiple times, but wondering if it (having no app in the dock) has been implemented and whether there's a preference to turn this off that I've missed? Thanks, Ben
Genieo False Positive?
Scan is showing two Threats: OSX.Genieo.1.r and PUA.OSX.TuneUpMyMac.1.r. These threats only show up on the time machine backup drive, not the system hard drive. Having read these forums, it seems as though these are false positives. However, a Webroot response of a long time ago stated "The reason that we are detecting these apps is because Apple did not encrypt their software properly and they both have malicous strings in them. We have pushed an update to our system with will ignore those two files..." That would suggest that the software should properly account for these files if they are no threat. Can anyone shed light on this? If it helps, the details show: /Macintosh HD/System/Library/CoreServices/MRT.app/Contents/MacOS/MRT and /Macintosh HD/System/Library/Frameworks/CoreFoundation.framework/Versions/A/CoreFoundation Thanks, John PS: My Mac is 4 years old and this is the first time running scanning sof
Form fill profile
I have used the form file feature for years. Now suddenly my profile is blank and every time I reenter the data and click save, nothing saves. My computer also won't save info on other forms I try to use online. Don't know if it's a webroot problem or a setting on my Macbook air. Please help! Thanks.
False Positive for PUA.OSX.TuneUpMyMac.1.r ?
Just got an alert for PUA.OSX.TuneUpMyMac.1.r It's in a time machine backup for today 0520. Kind of odd it would be found in a TM from today, but not in any other active scan / file that the TM was made from? I've done Full Scans for the past 3 days.
Webroot Setting Cleared/Not Working, Won't Scan, Turned Orange But Don't See Threats
My Webroot settings won't let me click any boxes to put a checkmark and all of the checks I had are gone (all settings are unchecked), I see the red ! on the icon and it seems like there are threats to remove but I can't see any listed in the appropriate area also it won't scan any files. Any ideas? I think my computer has been hacked and I've got a lot of other weird issues as well that wiping and restoring it won't help. I'm using a 2016 Macbook Pro with macOS Sierra 10.12.4 but problems have been going on forever.
Does Webroot on Mac OS extend full protection to Windows running in a shell therein?
Does the Webroot application installed in Mac OS (Sierra) extend protection to Windows running in an emulation (Parallels) within the Mac OS environment? Or should Webroot *also* be installed into the Windows enviroment?
Access Log Files on Mac macOS Sierra
In another post is says to open WebRoot and select "System Tools" Here on my MacBook I am not seeing "System Tools" - am I missing it, not looking in the right place? WebRoot gives me reports and Details under Results, but the screen is too narrow to see the full filename of the offending file WebRoot is reporting on and the window cannot be expanded. Is there a way to look at the complete log file to see exactly what WebRoot is reporting on? In this case it seems that a bunch of files related to "...YahooCCT..." are the culprits.
Webroot scan is not working.
I keep getting the message: First Scan not Complete, and the background color is blue. When I try to rescan it tells me that I have no internet connection, even though I can go to Safari and get to any website. The green Webroot logo in my menu displays a little blue dot on it.
If I stop a scan will I still be able to delete any threats found during that scan?
I'm running a scan on my entire system and external drives. It's been running form nearly 123 hours and has found a number of threats. The drives include my internal drive and two external drives (one for backup and one for data). I shouldn't have scanned the backup drive since I was going to erase the data and do a full backup once I've cleaned my iMac, but there wasn't a way to exclude that drive. I'm reaching nearly 100 million files and it's found a few threats. I want to stop the scan Iit's doing the final scan on the backup drive) - it's scanned everything else. What I want to know is if I stop the scan now, will I still get access to the results so that I can quarentine and delete the threats>
problems on mac
Webroot was working fine up until today. I logged on today to see "The file: '/Applications/Webroot/MainUIStrings.bin' could not be found. Please verify and reinstall." I've tried to reinstall with no such luck, everytime I try and set it in Applications it says that I already have one in there. I've tried repeatedly to uninstall the one already in there and everytime it says it is in use. I've made sure everything is closed and the pop up will still pop up. I'm just trying to uninstall it completely to reinstall so it will work right. It will not even open anymore and there is no icon at the top. What can I do? Thank you!
Webroot Antivirus is interfering with my data backup on a WD Passport for Mac.
Hello, I'm new to the community and am writing to ask for help. I recently purchased a WD Passport for my Mac, and my Webroot Antivirus is telling me that the drive has a virus on it, which I have verified is not a virus via Techs at WD. Other than turning off my antivirus protection while doing a backup of my data, is there some way for Webroot to ignore the file it says is infected? Thanks in advance if you know the answer.
Can't scan on OS X. Unable to quit startup scan.
When I opened webroot, it said their were about 6-7 scans running at the same time, I restarted webroot, and it said "view scan process". When I clicked it, it showed that it was perparing to scan, but it didn't start. I can't stop the scan. Is there a way to fix this? This is on OS X 10.11.5
I can't get rid of red ! on my WR icon at upper rt of my desktop despite scanning & no threats found
I recently purchased a Mac Mini & bought the Webroot for up to 5 devices. On my Mini I keep getting a red exclamation point in the upper right corner of the screen that would indicate that action is needed, but when I do a new scan there are no threats. But the red "warning symbol" remains. One point to note that may have something to do with it? After receiving my Mac back last week from Apple where they determined that there was a hardware problem & replaced the wifi card (or something like that), I had to do a complete restore from my Seagate external back up drive. When I plugged it in to do scan once the contents was transferred (took a few hours), the scan detected a virus but where? I followed the instructions & removed any DVD, CD, external drive then ran the scan again. No threats were detected. good. But now despite not reconnecting the backup drive for several days, I am getting the alert message mentioned above. It
