I am using a Mac desktop running OS X Catalina. Webroot Secure Anywhere. The last time I ran System Anlalizer I got the following message: Software: High amount of RAM used by processes using more than 250MBi Large number of open files (more than 2500 open files)How do I find these open files and close themThanks,Msweenyst11
Since I upgraded my MAC to Big Sur recently, my Time Machine backup stopped working. After a week of diagnostic with Apple tech support, it was determined that Webroot SecureAnywhere was preventing the MAC backups from working. I uninstalled Webroot, and suddenly, Time Machine started working again. I let it work for a few days. Then, I reinstalled Webroot, and immediately, Time Machine stopped working again. So my question…. Has this been reported and can Webroot do something about it?
Have been using WSA over three years. First time, today, received the Full Disk Access request. Am running macOS Big Sur, 11.2.3. Went to Security & Privacy, Privacy Tab, went to Full Disk Access, WSA not listed. Went to Files and Folders WSA listed. Full Disk Access listed under WSA icon but greyed out. Any recommendation?
WebRoot Secure Anywhere - MacOS Security Feature has been disabled. iMac on startup this morning. WebRoot Secure Anywhere displays information dialogue box that states: “MacOS Security Feature has been disabled”. Only one action available - “OK”. WSA stays Green & Protected. So what feature has been disabled? How to re-enable the Security Feature?
so, I have had my computer crashing a lot recently and I thought its malware, so I tried Webroot. I was just thinking “install, scan, and remove” but I was wrong. it won't install! no matter how many times I try, its just stuck on that, I let it make changes and everything, just get stuck Again… I need some help, I want to scan my system badly and I already bought it, thats a waste of money. Thanks :D’
Pretty clear up top, but we’re seeing a lot of customers with Webroot (we sell/support) on Mojave and higher having the same ongoing/reoccuring issues:False positives Scans forever Constant “component installer failure” after startup System Analyzer component crashes (Big Sur) when run as a secondary applet via LMI connection And a general Compatibility update for M1 platform would be niceIDK what our Inter-Company IT has tool wise, nor what interactions they’ve had with WR itself, but from a Front Line standpoint, it’s too common at this point. Even on my own device testing, I run into the same types of issues. It seems like there are More issues as you go from older to newer OS. Even after messing around with permissions and such. I’ve seen links for different versions and it would be good to know if we need to be advising certain versions based on the OS or if there are any different steps (from the listed installation process) that may need to be used.
I've been seeing Webroot's wsdaemon process taking up 90% of my RAM (7.27 of 8GB), after which it starts to cause issues with other applications, e.g. that Chrome will show 'the connection has been reset' for various websites. After I kill wsdaemon in the activity manager, things operate normally. I have had to do this multiple times after doing a clean install of MacOS Catalina. I reinstalled the OS from scratch, i.e. a clean install. I've also kept the OS and Webroot SecureAnywhere up to date. The scan log doesn't show any errors. Any thoughts? It seems like a memory leak to me.
Hello,I have the same error message “cannot connect to internet”. I uninstalled webroot, reload the newest version, restart, reinstall, restart… it doesn’t work. I contacted webroot support twice...and I’m still waiting for a phone call (is there really a support service ?).So, is there anybody who could help me to fix this problem ?config : Mac Book Pro Big Sur 11.2Best regards.
Hi I’ve had this problem before and got it working on a mac (can’t remember how!). I’ve just updated to the latest macOS (Big Sur) and again the Right Click scan option is not there?im sure there’s a security setting the macOS needs me to grant access, but I don’t know where or how? any help is much appreciated, bart
Every time I log onto my Mac WSA console comes up red and says a threat is detected. After scans no threat is noted. on the console it states that subscription is not activated but when I go to my account it says active. I’m getting tired of WSA scanning my computer every time I get on it.
Just bought a new Mac, and am trying to download so I can activate the new laptop. I followed the download instructions, got the wsampac.dmg folder, dragged it to my applications. The Icon is now on my doc and in my applications folder. Single or double clicking from the dock does nothing (it blips a little). Double clicking from the finder/applications folder does nothing. Support isn’t open until Monday, and I have a lovely unprotected new MacBook Air I can’t use. I have space in my account for another computer, and an activated key code that’s good until March 2022.I have uninstalled it three times, closed all windows, restarted my Mac. :( I have opened a support ticket.
