webroot was installed on my computer a while back. I keep getting random pop-ups from chrome so i want to run webroot to see if my system is infected. Whenever I right-click webroot or right-click to try to open it, nothing happens. Why can't I open this app to run a diagnostic test on my computer?
We deployed webroot to our machines recently, and my Mac user's computer says "protection disabled" and the icon shows an exclamation point, despite the protections being enabled. You can even see in the screenshot that it scanned recently. What exactly is "disabled" that is causing it to alarm this to a user? I've been seeing Webroot's wsdaemon process taking up 90% of my RAM (7.27 of 8GB), after which it starts to cause issues with other applications, e.g. that Chrome will show 'the connection has been reset' for various websites. After I kill wsdaemon in the activity manager, things operate normally. I have had to do this multiple times after doing a clean install of MacOS Catalina. I reinstalled the OS from scratch, i.e. a clean install. I've also kept the OS and Webroot SecureAnywhere up to date. The scan log doesn't show any errors. Any thoughts? It seems like a memory leak to me.
So we recently partnered with Atera who provides webroot 1click installs on PCs, but Webroot installs on Mac machines is VERY problematic. We have different versions throughout the organization and NONE of them are working properly. I have a handful of 11.6 Mac OS, some 12.1 and am using the latest version provided by Webroot (188.8.131.52/WSAMAC.dmg) yet they all fail at the same place. The user doesn’t get to provide full disk access during the initial install. We circle back and grant the full disk access but the Mac endpoints are not showing up in my webroot console. All of my PCs are in there without any problems. I have tried that version on 11.6 Mac OS and 12.1 today. They both *seem* to install, but none of them actually check-in properly. These are in different locations so I know it isn’t a FW blocking a port or something to that effect. I really need some help as we are on a deadline and have to choose between Webroot and BitDefender by Friday. Some help would be greatly
I have 36 macOS machines that have not updated to the latest version of SecureAnywhere and I’m not able to remote into each machine and manually update. I’m looking for a way to update the clients automatically via an Apple or Python Scripting similar to this command which works with Windows: start-process "C:\Program Files (x86)\Webroot\WRSA.exe" -argumentlist poll Does anyone know of a way to do this?
After upgrading to MacOS Catalina, the WSA window launched on every new login.Really annoying, and no way to control it.So I tried uninstall Webroot, and reinstalling. But after clicking the installer, nothing happens. The webroot icon is sitting in the dock, its open, and clicking it, the menu-bar with only shows “WebrootSecureAnywhere” but just that, no dropdown menus, or app window .I tried this two times, and same result. Please advise
Hi, hope you are all having a great Saturday! I'm reaching out to see if there are any other Mac users out there that is experiencing App Store loading really, really slow atm...? I've cleared App Stores cache with help from all different guides with no success. Anyone who knows what may cause this issue? Since Webroot caused my Photoshop to not work properly (which I've got help with) I'm now starting to be suspicious if it is Webroot again that is preventing my App Store to not work as it should? I'm doubtful though, but as I can't find any help about this issue anywhere else, this post is my last hope! Thanks in advance folks.
For the last month I've been watching and keeping track of the "Definition Updates" on WSA for Mac and I have noticed that the definitions do not update on the weekends or holidays. For example: 12/21/18 the definition was: 1043 12/26/18 the definition was: 1044 12/31/18 the definition was: 1047 01/02/19 the definition was: 1048 Friday 01/11/19 the definition was and still is today at the time of this post 01/14/19: 1055 Is there a reason there are no updates on the weekend or holidays but there is an update every day during the week? I had webroot on my mac and then all of the sudden it asked for a key code. All the ones I had did not work so I went ahead and purchased a 5 device one for 3 years. I was able to get it on my phone, but for some reason it won't let me add it to my mac. I have installed and uninstalled and I have gotten two different things. First one is that it force closes when I put the key code Second if I used an old webroot I had from my time machine it allows me to put in the key code but it says it failed to install the latest verision. Can someone please assist me? I spent $160 and I am starting to feel like it was a waste of money
Scan is showing two Threats: OSX.Genieo.1.r and PUA.OSX.TuneUpMyMac.1.r. These threats only show up on the time machine backup drive, not the system hard drive. Having read these forums, it seems as though these are false positives. However, a Webroot response of a long time ago stated "The reason that we are detecting these apps is because Apple did not encrypt their software properly and they both have malicous strings in them. We have pushed an update to our system with will ignore those two files..." That would suggest that the software should properly account for these files if they are no threat. Can anyone shed light on this? If it helps, the details show: /Macintosh HD/System/Library/CoreServices/MRT.app/Contents/MacOS/MRT and /Macintosh HD/System/Library/Frameworks/CoreFoundation.framework/Versions/A/CoreFoundation Thanks, John PS: My Mac is 4 years old and this is the first time running scanning sof
Why has my scan stopped at “System/Volumes/Data/Vo...ditionName/thumbnail.jpg”??? I got information off my old laptop from the hard drive because the computer would not boot up and as soon as I downloaded it onto my Mac the deep scan is frozen, twice now. It quarantined three things and we sent a report to apple and deleted them but the scans still won't complete and always stop at the what I wrote above. Does this mean my brand new 12 TB hard drive I transferred everything to and iMac are infected? I have run it twice now and its still won't finish scanning and I’m worried my brand new 12TB hard drive (that makes weird noises throughout the scan) is infected along with my iMac. Thank you in advance for your help
Hi, please see the attached screenshot. When I got to System Preferences > Security & Privacy, the Webroot extension is not found anywhere. Any ideas?
I am having issues with Webroot Secure Anywhere. It’s telling me there are Threats Detected. But, when I go to Mac Security, their are no Threats listed. I am running mac os Catalina 10.15.4. Webroot Secure Anywhere version is 184.108.40.206. See attached pics for more explanation.
Couple of years ago BestBuy Geek replaced Norton with WEBROOT on my MAC and all my widow PCs. Recently on my MacBook Air got a message I needed to update WEBROOT. I started the process. WEBROOT wanted to run a scan. Was told before scan, I needed to give WEBROOT full disk access. (Why? I had run scans before,) I gave permission. was told to reboot the Mac. Got msg: WEBROOT Secure interrupted shut down. If a i close the widow that has the message, I’m back at the widow that asked me to give full disc access. Then I’m stuck. I can’t close WEBROOT. I can not reboot hard or soft. I am dead in the water. An hour with GEEK online chat help ended up with my being told to make an appointment and bring the MAC to the store. Best Buy is closed until May. I can not work. I can not afford to not work. I am writing this from my wife’s PC. I can not uninstall WEBROOT. I can not wipe the MAC clean and restore factory setting and start over because to do that I need to reboot. Can an
I'm a PC guy, but my son's Girlfriend found a weird take-over web browser virus and I wanted to see if the WEBROOT product worked as well on her system as the 100+ I have running on windows systems... After downloading the program and (figuring out how to install the bloody thing) we entered the keys, and the splash screen says it's loading but it just sits there after she enters her MAC password, nothing happens. Tried 3 times. It just sits there like nothing is happening... What did I do wrong????
Just got an alert for PUA.OSX.TuneUpMyMac.1.r It's in a time machine backup for today 0520. Kind of odd it would be found in a TM from today, but not in any other active scan / file that the TM was made from? I've done Full Scans for the past 3 days.
I renewed my webroot a few months back. It wouldn’t take the new keycode. Tried to resolve via emails, no luck. Haven’t been on my home computer for a while. Trying again. No luck. It will not take the new keycode, even if I cut and paste it in. Tried uninstalling it, no luck. Was just on hold for 2.5 hours for tech support, and no one would answer. Have sent a few messages, no replies. I spent money on this, and i can’t get any help. Does anyone have any suggestions? I would like to file a complaint. They have lost my business after this.
Webroot stopped working with my upgrade to Catalina. I have since removed Webroot and downloaded the latest version. When I try to install ti starts Webroot, I choose open. The only thing that happens is a Webroot Icon appears in the applications line at the bottom of the screen. It stops right there and no other screens are available. what do I need to do to get Webroot installed again?
Have tried numerous times to install Webroot on Macbook pro running Catalina, but when I download and then double click Webroot icon, nothing happens. Any help to complete install? Webroot was running fine prior to this, although when opening the console, it had an amber background instead of green, with “subscription expiration” notice even though i have years remaining on subscription. That is why i attempted uninstall/reinstall Thanks for any help...Tom
