I started having issues with my Webroot service when it suddenly opened one day with a blue screen and an exclamation point, but it did not give me a reason as to why it was doing that, it also wouldn’t scan anything. I went online and everything pointed to reinstallation, so I did that and now it won’t open at all, even to put in the keycode or really install it. Can anyone help me? I tried to contact webroot directly but they haven’t gotten back to me! I am running Catalina 10.5.5
Secure Anywhere stopped working on my MacBook after Catalina was updated to 10.15.5. Not the first time this has happened after Catalina updates. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling to no avail. My pleas through support tickets were met with crickets. I finally said goodby to Secure Anywhere or so I thought. I bought a Norton product but when I tried to install it, it says that Webroot needs to be uninstalled. I have tried everything that I can think of including using the uninstall button on the app or by moving files to trash. Secure Anywhere is like Herpes simplex - it won’t go away! Please help.
When I try to drag or Send to Trash the Webroot SecureAnywhere from my Application Folder in Finder on my MacBook Pro Catalina Version 1015.5 it requires my Apple login password then I get the following message: “The operation can’t be completed because you don’t have permission to access some of the items.”So your solution at Step 4 does not work for me. What should I do?
Hi everyone.I noticed today (Aug. 4) there was an update for WebRoot SecureAnywhere for Mac. Unfortunately, I couldn’t find any product announcement on the community forum to get more information about the update.With this update the version will change to 18.104.22.168.I went ahead and installed the update anyway on my Mac with Catalina 10.15.5. So my experience was basically the same as last month’s update. I just want to share my experience...To download and install the update, I clicked the “Update Now” button (see screenshot below). The console will appear yellow. Be patient... It will take a couple minutes for the product to update. At first you won’t see anything happen after clicking the button and you might wonder if the update is working. Don’t panic. Don’t press the update button more than once. After a minute or two you may see two Webroot icons running in the Dock. Let the update proceed. Both icons will eventually disappear from the Dock, and then one Webroot icon will re-app
Hi I recently had a virus on my computer so when I got it fixed, they installed Webroot automatically. I have played toon town rewritten for a while (stupid I know) and when I went to play again it keeps crashing. when I looked it up it said that it may be something with the antivirus and I agree. I know there is nothing wrong with the site and I believe it to be a false positive. I tried submitting it to Webroot as a false positive but the file was too long as it was the launcher. If anyone knows how to fix this please let me know!
HI,Webroot (latest version) is not compatible with Voice Control on the Mac OS. Webroot disallows the ability to perform dictation when running on the Mac. When I quit Webroot, dictation with Mac’s Voice Control works fine.Any chance that this issue can be corrected in a timely software update?Thank you.
Come clean with ALL Mac User’s about the problems – that includes proactively notifying ALL Mac users. Why? unless you look under the hood or worse like me get infected with Malware – your website shows all is good and I’m protected – when I’m not Treat Best Buy customers as REAL customers – many of us buy lots of computers with your software. Best Buy customers are NOT lessor includeds Do Not treat us as Beta Testers. Before you propose a fix on your Tech Support Community – make sure it works Waiting an hour to talk with Tech Support is wrong. I know demand for tech support is surging, but if you can’t find and train more Technicians fire your VP of HR. Then call a professional in virtual hiring and training – you could have people showing up in days and trained in a week. Why is this important? Many of us provide critical support to the Nation (yes even on a Mac) and getting infected with Malware (when we thought we were protected) means a mission failure for the customer. Yo
System info: MBP 2012 SSD: Mojave/Catalina/Win10 HDD: TimeMachineM/TimeMachineC/SharedData (NTFS) Webroot installed on all OS’ (Is necessary?) Configured WR to ignore a known clean game folder (I believe) Issue: Ever since building this device configuration, the Catalina instance of WR has been reporting infection and continuously scanning, but never clears the infection status. I believe I managed to wait long enough once, but even after having it ignore the files it was reporting, it wouldn’t let go of the behavior. I “believe” I’ve already tried reinstalling WR, but no change in behavior on this install. I think there’s a settings file somewhere that is keeping the threat list active and needs purging. Hopefully that was clear enough as none of the other OS’ have an issue.
I tried all the links and re-downloaded the install .DMG several times and still not working on a Macbook Pro fresh install. This was the first app I placed on this new Mac and still it says "Failed to get latest version". I am connected to the internet. Here are the specs: MacOS 10.15.6 MBP 15 - 2018
WebRoot on my Mac just popped up that a file “/Library/Google/…./GoogleSoftwareUpdateAgent” has the threat “MacOS.MacRansomEvilQuest.1.r” It quarantined correctly, but…. what’s going on… is this a bad file, or does WebRoot have a mistake, or is Google pushing ransomware?
Webroot is misbehaving since upgrading to Catalina 10.15.5. I can see others have this concern and I could scroll and scroll through the answers, but I’m hoping for a quick reply. Is this situation hopeless? I keep getting the red or yellow exclamation point, I get screens popping up in the middle of Zoom sessions telling me to add Webroot to my Full Disk Access, and I have already done it. The box pops up over and over and is not responsive to anything I do, no matter how often I follow the same steps. Very frustrating.
Webroot Secure AnyWhere ver. 22.214.171.124:1391 installed Web Filtering Package ver. 126.96.36.199 keeps cancelling my scans after I recently updated the program. I followed all the instructions when a window popped up saying to open system preferences, click full disk access in privacy tab an open up the application folder. I did all of the above multiple times to no avail. Anyone know how to fix this? I would be very grateful. Tried contacting webroot support several times but got no answer. Have just recently renewed my Webroot security and now every time I click on Webroot to open it, it doesn't do anything, doesn't load or anything, I have seen several people experiencing the same issue as I have and everyone reverts to private chats or refers me to support who continuously tells me to delete application and reload it in safe mode which I have 17 times now, still same result! is there a boot up lock on MacOS that is not allowing it to load or open? im ready to turn away and ask for refund, this has literally gone on for 2 weeks now and im running out of patience and hairs to pull from my head. Any help would be great. Also note that I have ran the disk utility and ran the first aid on Webroot as well as my Mac.
It’s been quite a while now and I still have no functional Webroot when I updated to Catalina 10.15.5. This is way too reminiscent of what happened last year when it took months for Webroot to work with a new MacOS update. What can you tell me?
