Webroot keeps asking me for full desk access over and over. I check my system preferences to make sure it’s checked and it is. I even removed it from the list and added it back again. It will start scanning for a few minutes and the Systems Preferences window pops up again. I have uninstalled and redownloaded the app several times and it still keeps asking me for full disk access. Thanks for any help! Mac OS Catalina 10.15.4 Internet Security Plus
I keep receiving the error message “Full Disk Access”. And there is a threat in Webroot blocked files /Volumes/Installer+1/Installer.app/Contents/MacOS/QWDKocViL Should I continue to block or allow or monitor this threat? Is that the cause of the Full Disk Access error message?
Installed, uninstalled and searched for all files pertaining to webroot, re-installed lastest download version. Result: app appears to load, as it sits in dock and will create a window when selected. Window is blank and icon doesn’t appear at top of screen. Process appears to be running but not menus or windows available.
The SecureAnywhere on my daughter’s mac had expired and I just purchased a new subscription covering 5 devices. I entered the new keycode on my pc and when I enter it on the mac the application closes. I suspect she has been infected based on this. Does anyone have any ideas?
Dear Webroot for MAC users, Later this month, Apple will release a new version of macOS, macOS 10.15 Catalina. We’re working closely with Apple to ensure our software is compatible with macOS 10.15 and plan to have an update in the coming weeks. Until then, upgrading your device to macOS 10.15 will prevent Webroot from functioning properly as it is not compatible. We will inform you when it is safe to upgrade your macOS. Any news on a fix to Webroot constantly popping up asking for Full Disk Access in System Preferences even though its already in there twice. Unfortunately the message box pops up and prevents me from accessing other windows and I have a heck of a time getting it to close . Two other products I am running on my Mac (Logmein Pro and QuickBooks Desktop Mac 2020) have issues causing me a lot of grief and lost time troubleshooting. This is totally an Apple issue making it clear they don’t have to play nice with others.
I’ve been a big fan of webroot for many years, but that's changed since upgrading my iMac to Catalina. The support response is so slow that i’ll probably have a virus before somebody replies with anything other than a click this download button, it will all work fine. I’ve gone from a constant update window with a never ending scan to a point now where I have nothing. It won’t install it won’t do anything - nada Maybe it’s me, but I don't thinks so, everything else works ok. Initially I tried clicking uninstall in the about, that didn’t work. I drag it from application to the bin. Reboot, try another install, that doesn’t work. It just hangs. Am I the only one completely stuck? I’m by no means a mac os expert so I may be making a numpty mistake. But installation doesn’t seem to kick off at all for me. Is there a UK telephone number I can call or someone who can remote login to help? Thank you, Matthew
I noticed a few days ago that Webroot was not running regular scans. When I tried to run manually it wouldn’t complete. Came up with an internet error. I then noticed for whatever reason the software needed to be verified. I copied in the proper code and thought that would be the end of it. However it will still not complete a scan. In addition, maintenance services will not complete. It tells me Safari Location services is on (as an alert), to which I have turned off ALL location and it still lists as it is on. Catalina, 10.15.4.
Hi guys, I am stuck with this one. I have got a new mac and I am trying to install Webroot, as you do. Enter my code and email address fine, get ready to install and it just stays at this point, no progression. Any ideas? Permission in System Preferences should allow Webroot :( Thanks guys Brad
I tried web shield extension for Chrome, but it said it’s only for PC, not for Mac. I found several topics about this: https://community.webroot.com/webroot-secureanywhere-for-macs-18/catalina-update-for-business-users-341181 https://community.webroot.com/webroot-secureanywhere-for-macs-18/web-threat-shield-webroot-safety-ratings-safari-version-13-and-catalina-340686 https://community.webroot.com/business-product-releases-26/mac-agent-update-version-9-1-1-5-341151 It looks like the web shield extension is no longer working? And after half year, Webroot is still working on it? Can anyone confirm this, please? Thank you.
I have used your software for years but I have finally given up trying. Like many others I waited for weeks for your fix re the above and I was pleased to receive your email today confirming the software had finally been fixed. What a let down! No it hasn’t!! Contrary to the advice in the email there was no pop up box. Nothing happened at all. I therefore tried to uninstall the software and reinstall. It would not uninstall due to insufficient security permissions so I rebooted into safe mode and managed to get rid of it. I then reinstalled a clean copy from your website and yet again no success. It wouldn’t even open yet it gobbled up a massive amount of CPU time with the Macbook getting very hot. Having tried this a couple of times I have given up and moved to one of your competitors. You really need to get your act together. Please don’t bother sending me a stupid step by step guide to install aimed at a 4 year old. I have used Macs for years and have never seen such a fiasco as thi
I a popup that led to this message when I turned on my computer (and this was a Webroot popup) - “In 2019, Apple informed developers that macOS Catalina will be the last macOS to fully support legacy system extensions, and we've been working with developers to transition their software. By moving beyond these extensions, developers are helping to further modernize the Mac, improve its security and reliability, and enable more user-friendly software distribution methods. A final transition date has not yet been set.” does this mean Webroot won't work?
I am on a MAC with OS Catalina and Webroot does not appear to be working recently. It scans for hours and hours and hours with no end in sight and does not stop. Additionally, it won't remove the infected files. Webroot will also run multiple scans at once, which I have to delete so that only one is running.
I installed Webroot after buying my Mac Pro 8 months ago. Since then Apple has rolled out 3 updates. Each one of them have broken Webroot to some degree or another. After spending several hours on the phone with the Geek Squad they said they have seen a lot of instability with Webroot and Apple OS X. They suggested I may want to switch to Trend Micro as it seems to be much more stable with Apple.
Its in the title. My Account shows 270 days of subscription but the icon on top bar of MacBook has orange ‘!’. When i open the App i get an ‘Update Now’ instruction staring at me. I click. Nothing happens……… Given my recent issues with your software my patience, likely hair, is wearing thin. Please help with the App/software. Thank you.
Couple of years ago BestBuy Geek replaced Norton with WEBROOT on my MAC and all my widow PCs. Recently on my MacBook Air got a message I needed to update WEBROOT. I started the process. WEBROOT wanted to run a scan. Was told before scan, I needed to give WEBROOT full disk access. (Why? I had run scans before,) I gave permission. was told to reboot the Mac. Got msg: WEBROOT Secure interrupted shut down. If a i close the widow that has the message, I’m back at the widow that asked me to give full disc access. Then I’m stuck. I can’t close WEBROOT. I can not reboot hard or soft. I am dead in the water. An hour with GEEK online chat help ended up with my being told to make an appointment and bring the MAC to the store. Best Buy is closed until May. I can not work. I can not afford to not work. I am writing this from my wife’s PC. I can not uninstall WEBROOT. I can not wipe the MAC clean and restore factory setting and start over because to do that I need to reboot. Can an
