Are two versions of Webroot supposed to be running now?

Just reformatted my computer and when I installed Spysweeper with Antivirus, it told me there was an upgrade available. I upgraded, and now it looks like two separate programs are running: Webroot SecureAnywhere, and Webroot AntiVirus with Spy Sweeper. Is this normal?

Hello and welcome to the Webroot Community!

No, that isn't normal, but I have seen it happen before.  It's pretty easy to take care of.  The old version has a removal tool we can use to remove it in cases like this.  I'd suggest creating a restore point first before running it just to be on the safe side.

Here is how to create a restore point in XP.
Here is how to create a restore point in Vista or 7.

Then you can run this removal tool.

Please let us know if you need any additional assistance with that.  If you're not comfortable following the steps, our support department can set up a time to remote onto the computer and do it for you if you would prefer.
Thank you very much for the reply. I only have one program running now. The same thing happened to my sister, so I can share this with her 🙂
