How do you set up webroot on a hp chromebook?

Hello @weboot

Sorry but Webroot doesn’t support the Chromebook OS because Chrome OS has there own AV per say and don’t allow other AV’s to be installed.

See here for more info:

Hello and welcome to the Community Forum,

Please have a look here about Chrome notebook https://community.webroot.com/t5/Webroot-SecureAnywhere-Antivirus/chromebooks/td-p/23120

And for your laptop ..

  • Make sure you have a copy of your 20 Character Alphanumeric Keycode Example:SA69-AANA-A783-DE78-C584
  • KEEP the computer online to install to make sure it works correctly
  • Download a Copy Here (Best Buy Subscription PC users click HERE)
  • Install with the new installer, enter your Keycode
  • Let it finish it's install scan
  • Reboot
Hope this helps and if not please do get back to us.

Sorry,

Hello, your can get the part of functionality

by installing the extension from Chrome Store on Chromebook devices:

https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/web-threat-shield/kjeghcllfecehndceplomkocgfbklffd

Why doesn’t Webroot work with Chromebooks, WHEREAS, Kaspersky anti virus does?

I had to pay extra license for Kaspersky for my Chromebook, even though I had enough extra Webroot licenses.
