On startup, I get a Windows Securtiy Alert in the taskbar that Webroot is not turned on; When I click on the alert, and click on the option to turn on Webroot, nothing happens. Also, Webroot appears to be on and running when I get the alert. Have restarted the PC a number of times, but for some reason Windows is not detecting that Webroot is running/on. Any ideas/support would be greatly appreciated.

Hi nikb58

Welcome to the Community Forums.

We have had a few instances of that and it is usually cured by an uninstall/clean install.

If you would like to try that then please follow the steps below closely!

  • Make sure you have a copy of your 20 Character Alphanumeric Keycode! Example:SA69-AAAA-A783-DE78-XXXX
  • KEEP the computer online for Uninstall and Reinstall to make sure it works correctly
  • Download a Copy Here (Best Buy Subscription PC users click HERE)
  • Uninstall WSA and Reboot
  • Install with the new installer, enter your Keycode and do NOT import any settings if offered by the installer; to as you can set it up as you like once it's done
  • Let it finish it's install scan
  • Reboot once again
Check to see if that has sorted the issue for you if not then please post back.

Regards, Baldrick
