Hello! I’ve been using Webroot for quite some time now. (It came installed when i bought the computer.) I’ve been trying to install a program and I require Webroot to be shutdown/paused but there is no way for me to complete this seeing as I’m not the “network administrator”. I’ve tried going to windows processes and Webroot outright denied me from shutting it down. Whatever I seem to do it all goes around in a circle with me needing to do one thing to fix the next but ultimately failing because of the restrictions. I hope this issue can be resolved! Kind regards, whitecowboyhat.
I’ve tried going through the messages, and some people found their answer but didn’t write it down. I have emailed Tech support but their suggestions didn’t work, so they gave me a number to call. The automation said my “wait time was over an hour”! Even though it is “uninstalled” a file and the svch continues to monitor and zap files that I don’t want it to. That is the reason I uninstalled it. There was no feature I could find to exclude files and folders. Things that I have done: Use remove program from Control Panel- Success, but left both a file called "zPiaabeg.exe" in Program Files and service host named “WRSVC”. Neither can be deleted or stopped. Attempt to change permissions in Windows 10 to allow deletion- Fail Attempt to end process in Task manager- Fail Reboot in Safe Mode and attempt to delete file/end process/ stop wrsvc- fail. fail. fail. Use of third party software like File Assasin- fail. Says file is currently in use.
I clicked on a link in the Ookla Speedtest webpage, using Chrome, taking me to the incluster.com website. The product they were trying to promote, Outbyte, looked dubious, so I closed the browser. A little while later, I did the same thing using Firefox, and Webroot blocked my access to the page. Why Webroot not block my access from the same website when using Chrome? My Chrome extension is the current version in Chrome’s Web Store. Shouldn’t it work the same in both browsers?
I used webroot on both my wifes and my systems. When I run it, it only scans 8 to 9 thousand files and takes about 90 seconds. When I run it on my wife’s system, it scans close to 100 thousand files and take 8 minutes. Her system is a fresh load of windows 10, not an upgrade but a completely new load. Why does she have so many more files to scan than I do? We both only have World of Warcraft on our systems. All music and personal files are kept on removable media. Your help is appreciated.
Starting a day or two ago, every time I start my laptop some spam/adware ad opens up in chrome before almost immediately being blocked by webroot. I’ve tried running adware remover, checking in the startup tab in task manager, and uninstalling and reinstalling chrome. Nothing has worked so far. The problem isn't crippling or anything but its extremely annoying. Any help would be appreciated.
Hello, After submitting 3 tickets and having to create two separate accounts-- one for user account and another for tech support??? I’m pretty suspicious of this product and how this company is being run. It seems my tickets are just falling into a black hole. My Webroot program is not updating, and I’m now being held hostage by a scan that is still scanning after 77 hours. I have client deadlines that are now overdue. I’m getting ready to file a complaint with the BBB.
Hello, I just installed Webroot on a server for a client. When I try to scan the server for the first time. It sits on 2% then shoots up to 100% in seconds. Windows firewall is disabled. The internet is working as I was able to download the installer from the MSP site. Is there anything I can check with the agent?
I’ve taken over the managment of a 2012 R2 server which has Webroot SECURITYAnywhere installed. It will not uninstall nor can I open the console or close the application. The previous provider hasn’t been very forthcoming on it’s removal. When i run "C:\Program Files (x86)\Webroot\WRSA.exe" -uninstall it prompts me to uninstall which I say Yes to, I enter the characters when prompted Webroot doesn't uninstall.
Hi, So I got a BSOD with this error. I assume this is a driver issue with webroot. Any ideas? I might have just been fumble fingered when checking Webroot support options. But I noticed this draft email while "culling the herd" today. I scrolled through the data and the only discernible app reference was Webroot. Knowing hackers use the logcat tool, I thought I had better submit the inquiry.
When I do a search in google, my browser automatically switches to searching through Yahoo. This happened suddenly earlier tonight. I have tried switching my default browser to google, deleting yahoo as a browser, looking for extensions to be deleted, and done a reset and cleanup. None of these solutions resolved the problem. I think I have some type of malware but I have scanned with webroot 3 times with nothing found. I also tried changing my scan settings in Webroot: turning off and turning back on the “Detect Potentially Unwanted Applications” button and then scanning, but that did not help either.
im trying to download something that is FALSELY marked as virus so i have to shut down protection everytime i do. now i downloaded it then i turn on protection it automatically removes it without MY PERMISSION this is annoying. how do i stop this thing from removing my files without my permission. i use windows 10.
I was trying to uninstall webroot. I am using the paid subscription but webroot are refusing to assist because I am not a reseller. I purchased the programme online. I cannot uninstall the software. When I try I get an error message saying that the software is managed by the web console. so I logged into the web console and went into PC security tab and clicked on add pc. but it wants m me to install the software and provide the keycode but I have already done that. But the PC has never appeared. Can anyone advise. I want to get the thing working but want to try and uninstall it and and reinstall it but how do I do that when its not in the console. I did try and download and reinstall it but the programme just opens up normally. I have another keycode but I cannot even enter that because I keep getting the same error saying it managed by a web console
A week ago, I went on You tube and tried clicking on my favorite music videos...each time I clicked I had a mini video take over. One was a speaker touting EPOCH newsletter a second a speaker for EPOCH and a third something to do with drones. None would allow the video to play, nor could I delete them. The next day, all was fine. My concern: Was this a hack, a virus or some type of threat? Thanks, Allan Gair
I have multiple agents installed on users computers in my company. I do have an access to control panel and I can see agents over there but when I send a command to them and check if this command was executed in logs it says “elaspsed”. Is this because the service already expired and I am not able to communicate with agents anymore? I have read multiple threads on it and none of them solved my problem. I tried to manually uninstall agents. Most of computers run on windows 10. With CMD method “ WRSA.exe -uninstall” I get the prompt “do you really want to unistall ...” but nothing happens after it. I tired to unistal via control panel it also did not work Unfortunately running computers in safe mode is impossible because they have bitlocker installed and I do not have keys anymore. How do I unistall it via control panel without subscription? Is there any other way to unistall it ? PS. Diffrent computers have diffrent versions of webroot installed I will greatly appreciate any ad
There seems to be an issue deleting files from iCloud (the version delivered through the Microsoft Store) that uses “Files on Demand” (similar technology to OneDrive). The service creates a "file" that is attribute tagged as a SparseFile (which lets it take up 0 bytes but seem to be X bytes big), ReparsePoint (likely to trigger the filter driver), and Offline (the same tag used by the old Offline Files, and used in the same way to denote the file isn't locally present). Then, when a program attempts to open said file, access to the file goes through the FS filter list, hits "CldFlt" which checks if it's tagged "Offline". If yes, then the filter asks the OneDrive sync service to hydrate the file before handing it off to the next filter. Thought to be related to:https://community.webroot.com/business-product-releases-26/windows-10-fall-creator-update-bug-fix-305469 I believe Webroot is preventing deletion of this through explorer, but I do seem to be able to delete through command
Windows 10 Action Center says that both Windows Defender and Webroot SecureAnywhere are turned off. A three-year-old thread describing exactly the same problem was unsatisfactory. The solution proposed by Sserjj does not work; she assumes Windows will ALLOW me to change default startup values of Services, when IT WILL NOT; when attempting to carry out instructions in Step #4, the option is GREYED OUT, meaning I, the ONLY administrator of this computer, do not have GOD’s permission. God, get the Hell off my computer, please. Sserjj’s assertion that Webroot reports this as the result of a “recent update” illustrates that SOMEBODY is full of half-baked beans. Not only is a three-year-old issue still very much alive and kicking, but the bug has inoculated itself against treatment. That does NOT sound like an update problem. That sounds like an issue that WRSA should be able to clean up—it’s behaving like a VIRUS.
My hp desktop is a few years old and came with Windows 10, so it has Windows security software. I also have Webroot software from the store. In addition, my brother suggested VPN software, so I ended up with Avast software. Should I be worried about conflicts? Don’t see any, but I’m not a wizard on the PC, either? Should I get rid of any of this?
I have 18 days left on my old subscription, so I bought a new subscription and added the new key to both the app and the web console. The problem is that the app only sees the new subscription and tells me I have 365 days remaining instead of 383 (365 + 18) days remaining. The web console show both as separate subscriptions, one with 18 days remaining and one with 365 days remaining. I did the same thing last year and they were added together, how can I make that happen again this time? Thanks.
Your security code is a code you crea
