I can not believe I am here- this function should be automated! The old serial/ key expired. But I can not enter the new one. I have 2 other computers activated on the new serial number, but there is no button to enter new key when it already installed. It just takes me to buy and renew. On Norton, there is a button, "Have key", and it let me enter new key. I can not find it on Webroot. Used "Support chart"- some creature there told me to call Webroot Monday to Friday to figure it out. It is 3 days weekend. I can have any virus in the world in 3 days. He/she told me- it is not her job to know how to enter a key. I told her- if she geting paid for her work and not a valunteer, she needs to know basic answers. In fact- I dont understand why I have to wait 3 days and call tech support, go out of my way and register to the foum just to ask how to enter a serial number? Any other Antivirus has this option automated! This is sooo frustrating! It already takes more tha
To understand my question a lot of info must be provided. Sorry. The questions can be boiled down to. (1) Why does ID shield not protect IE11? (2) How can I even prove ID shield is even running (no lock)? :D (3) Is ID shield useful? (So many visible issues has me wondering about invisible issues. Of course, the issues I see may simply be my lack of knowlege.) Links to GOOD posts, articles, or your information is welcome. My trying to learn more about ID shield came about because running Firefox in a sandbox (Sandboxie) while Webroot was running caused two issues. (1) A second instance of Firefox could not be started and (2) after closing Firefox, it could not be restarted without terminating all programs in the sandbox. Webroot support solution: This is expected behavior for an application that is being protected by Webroot Identity Shield. The solution means that Identity Shield is not protecting IE11 as neither expected behavior is manifested when running IE11
Hello! I’ve been using Webroot for quite some time now. (It came installed when i bought the computer.) I’ve been trying to install a program and I require Webroot to be shutdown/paused but there is no way for me to complete this seeing as I’m not the “network administrator”. I’ve tried going to windows processes and Webroot outright denied me from shutting it down. Whatever I seem to do it all goes around in a circle with me needing to do one thing to fix the next but ultimately failing because of the restrictions. I hope this issue can be resolved! Kind regards, whitecowboyhat.
I am hearing about threats coming through Internet Explorer and taking over individual PC's. This may have already been discussed here but, this is only the second time I have logged in here and don't have a lot of time to read all post. Any updates or info on what to do would help. Thanks in advance!!!
The Windows 10 Action Center is constantly giving me a notification to check my antivirus software. The message states that both Webroot and Windows Defender are turned off. When I check Security and Maintenance in the Control Panel, it says that Webroot Secure Anywhere virus protection and spyware protection is turned on. I just recently started receiving this notification after months of running the computer with the upgrade to Windows 10. I do have Windows Defender turned off, because my prefernce is to run Webroot. I have run several "deep" scans with my Webroot app with zero threats found. Any suggestions?
So I'm not sure if this is a new virus or form of malware but it is annoying. Webroot nor Malwarebytes can find it. So far I have tried uninstalling whatever programs that I have previously downloaded, even undid my adblocker things on chrome to see if ti went away. Thankfully webroot keeps me from the websites it tries to send me to but I'd really like it gone. How can I stop this program from opening the mulitple tabs on chrome at random times? Is there a particular name it hides under that I'm not seeing or is it not a virus or malware at all? Thanks for your time and patience, Pantherdor
This has happened a number of times and I've had to take the computer to Geek Squad to fix it. The Webroot page comes up blue, and, when I ask it to scan, it says it cannot do so because it can't connect with the internet. What's up? Bob
Hi Could I please confirm the correct support number we are to call from Australia for support with Endpoint Protection? As per https://www.webroot.com/us/en/business/support/contact I have dialed 1 800 848 307, selected option 1 (the only option) and get informed the number is invalid / incomplete. My collegue over the last month has tried every number he can find for Webroot support online, and none of them connect. HE even tried the overseas number with no luck. Could you please confirm. Marty
Hoping I can explain correctly. Yesterday I was prompted to perform a 'Clean Up' on my Laptop. When completed, I tried to log onto Facebook and found the sign on page to be scrambled. Went to my email account (Hotmail) only to find once logged in, I an also unable to access my inbox. After that, checked with Webroot account, to find it also is compromised. The page itself is no longer with normal 'pictures', but everything is page left. When I click on any link, nothing happens. Today I found when attempting Pintrest, the person I was trying to 'follow' ended up being reported as a spam! This is all happening with Firefox, the browser I used when downloading Webroot over the weekend. I have signed on with IE, and have no problems. But. The issue remains with Webroot account. I truly do not wish to use IE. What could have caused this? I uninstalled Firefox twice, no change. Thanks for taking your time in reading and hopefully finding a solution for my problem.
I am trying to get multi-platform texting setup (Windows 10, Android tablet, Android phone). In order for the one I'd like to use I have been told this. If your organization has a firewall that restricts the traffic to or from the Internet, you need to configure it to allow connectivity with GCM in order for your GCM client apps to receive messages. The ports to open are: 5228, 5229, and 5230. GCM typically only uses 5228, but it sometimes uses 5229 and 5230. GCM doesn't provide specific IPs, so you should allow your firewall to accept outgoing connections to all IP addresses contained in the IP blocks listed in Google's ASN of 15169. I'm a little worried about how safe this is if I was to do it, plus I'm not sure how to do it. Any help or advice will be appreciated.
Win7 Pro x86. I ran an update checker, and Java had a new update available on 7/14/2014!?- Java 8 Build 11 I usually get a check weekly n otification, but not this time? I tried to update it from the Control Panel GUI, but said could not connect to server...? So I downloaded it from Filehippo, and installed it manually- Restarted three times, and IE10 Java verify is blank?- Even though a new Java version shows in Manage Addons. When I'm installing Flash/Java/... in IE10/FF30, do I need to temp shutdown WSA protection (I see the lock on my W taskbar icon), the same for program installs/uninstalls & defrag?
After installing the Microsoft Windows 8.1 updates this morning (KB3000850 and KB3011750), webroot reported msimg32.dll as infected by w32.rogue.gen. I think this is perhaps a false positive as I had run manual scans prior and had no threats detected until just today?
Running Webroot Secure Anywhere on my MacBook with OSX El Capitan 10.11.6. All is running fine but at start up/login WSA is automatically started, which of course is needed, but it's running in my dock and menu bar. The main application is not hided from my dock. So it remains open and I have to hide the application (and leave it running in the menu bar) manually. In my settings - (greater than) users/groups -- (greater than) login items there is not WSA and I can not start WSA is "hidden mode". Can you please help me out here?
I was reading the page about Webroot gaming as I am personally a big gamer. I just purchased a 2 year license for webroot thinking the standard webroot and webroot for pc gamers were the same thing. Now I am seeing that it has its own category in the drop down. So is there really a webroot for pc gamers version that is different than the standard version? If so will my license work in the gamer version? I just bought the license hours ago so I could try and cancel it if needed but I hope not! Please let me know if there is any actual difference, if so can I use the gamer with this license key? Thanks!
