Hello! I’ve been using Webroot for quite some time now. (It came installed when i bought the computer.) I’ve been trying to install a program and I require Webroot to be shutdown/paused but there is no way for me to complete this seeing as I’m not the “network administrator”. I’ve tried going to windows processes and Webroot outright denied me from shutting it down. Whatever I seem to do it all goes around in a circle with me needing to do one thing to fix the next but ultimately failing because of the restrictions. I hope this issue can be resolved! Kind regards, whitecowboyhat.
Webroot antivirus breaks nslookup
The current version of Webroot SecureAnywhere antivirus (188.8.131.52) breaks Windows 10 nslookup program and some other DNS lookup programs, like the one in Java 11. I tried to shutdown partial shields (Firewall, Phishing etc.), but only complete shutdown of Webroot fixes the problem.
nslookup failing when WebRoot is on
Hi,I’m having a strange problem where nslookup on the command line is failing when WebRoot is turned on:eg With WebRoot on:C:\Users\Webtech>nslookup www.google.comDNS request timed out. timeout was 2 seconds.Server: UnKnownAddress: 2001:xxx:xxxx:xxxx::1DNS request timed out. timeout was 2 seconds.DNS request timed out. timeout was 2 seconds.DNS request timed out. timeout was 2 seconds.DNS request timed out. timeout was 2 seconds.*** Request to UnKnown timed-out After doing “Shut down protection” from the WebRoot icon and entering the Captcha:C:\Users\Webtech>nslookup www.google.comServer: UnKnownAddress: 2001:xxxx:xxxx:xxxx::1Non-authoritative answer:Name: www.google.comAddresses: 2404:6800:4006:80a::2004 184.108.40.206 Strangely enough pings and tracerts in the same command line window work fine whether WebRoot is on or off... it seems specific to nslookup.Any ideas as to what is causing this and how to fix it?Running WebRoot Secure Anywhere AntiV
Chrome and Firefox extension difference
I clicked on a link in the Ookla Speedtest webpage, using Chrome, taking me to the incluster.com website. The product they were trying to promote, Outbyte, looked dubious, so I closed the browser. A little while later, I did the same thing using Firefox, and Webroot blocked my access to the page. Why Webroot not block my access from the same website when using Chrome? My Chrome extension is the current version in Chrome’s Web Store. Shouldn’t it work the same in both browsers?
amount of files from a scan
I used webroot on both my wifes and my systems. When I run it, it only scans 8 to 9 thousand files and takes about 90 seconds. When I run it on my wife’s system, it scans close to 100 thousand files and take 8 minutes. Her system is a fresh load of windows 10, not an upgrade but a completely new load. Why does she have so many more files to scan than I do? We both only have World of Warcraft on our systems. All music and personal files are kept on removable media. Your help is appreciated.
Webroot won't activate. But internet is working
Hello, I just installed Webroot on a server for a client. When I try to scan the server for the first time. It sits on 2% then shoots up to 100% in seconds. Windows firewall is disabled. The internet is working as I was able to download the installer from the MSP site. Is there anything I can check with the agent?
Unwanted ad popping up in chrome after start up
Starting a day or two ago, every time I start my laptop some spam/adware ad opens up in chrome before almost immediately being blocked by webroot. I’ve tried running adware remover, checking in the startup tab in task manager, and uninstalling and reinstalling chrome. Nothing has worked so far. The problem isn't crippling or anything but its extremely annoying. Any help would be appreciated.
browser automatically switching from google to yahoo for searches
When I do a search in google, my browser automatically switches to searching through Yahoo. This happened suddenly earlier tonight. I have tried switching my default browser to google, deleting yahoo as a browser, looking for extensions to be deleted, and done a reset and cleanup. None of these solutions resolved the problem. I think I have some type of malware but I have scanned with webroot 3 times with nothing found. I also tried changing my scan settings in Webroot: turning off and turning back on the “Detect Potentially Unwanted Applications” button and then scanning, but that did not help either.
Hello, After submitting 3 tickets and having to create two separate accounts-- one for user account and another for tech support??? I’m pretty suspicious of this product and how this company is being run. It seems my tickets are just falling into a black hole. My Webroot program is not updating, and I’m now being held hostage by a scan that is still scanning after 77 hours. I have client deadlines that are now overdue. I’m getting ready to file a complaint with the BBB.
Unable to uninstall Webroot SecurityAnywhere
I’ve taken over the managment of a 2012 R2 server which has Webroot SECURITYAnywhere installed. It will not uninstall nor can I open the console or close the application. The previous provider hasn’t been very forthcoming on it’s removal. When i run "C:\Program Files (x86)\Webroot\WRSA.exe" -uninstall it prompts me to uninstall which I say Yes to, I enter the characters when prompted Webroot doesn't uninstall.
logcat related draft email from 11_15 2019? could this be a hack attempt. Data references Webroot.
I might have just been fumble fingered when checking Webroot support options. But I noticed this draft email while "culling the herd" today. I scrolled through the data and the only discernible app reference was Webroot. Knowing hackers use the logcat tool, I thought I had better submit the inquiry.
I was trying to uninstall webroot. I am using the paid subscription but webroot are refusing to assist because I am not a reseller. I purchased the programme online. I cannot uninstall the software. When I try I get an error message saying that the software is managed by the web console. so I logged into the web console and went into PC security tab and clicked on add pc. but it wants m me to install the software and provide the keycode but I have already done that. But the PC has never appeared. Can anyone advise. I want to get the thing working but want to try and uninstall it and and reinstall it but how do I do that when its not in the console. I did try and download and reinstall it but the programme just opens up normally. I have another keycode but I cannot even enter that because I keep getting the same error saying it managed by a web console
My Webroot Quarantine is corrupted and my PC wont show up in my.webrootsecureanywhere.com control panel
So my quarantine catches viruses, but then for some reason the viruses get renamed and the date changes. Every single virus that is caught is renamed and redated. I cannot distinguish one from the other. And, I cannot restore them into the system because they have a very weird name (in chinese). I have been thinking of resetting since I have tried reinstalling webroot and scanning with a different AV but to no avail the issue still remains. Also, my PC will not show up in the Webroot control panel @ my.webrootsecureanywhere.com. I only see my other PC but not the one I am having issues with. I think that I am the victim of a very sneaky virus that blocks connections and messes with the antivirus. I have some screenshots of this stuff. I cannot really reset since I have important programs and they will get deleted and I will have to reconfigure them, but if my AV that I pay for isn’t doing its job due to viruses, then I might need to reset or switch to another AV. I tried Avast and it d
A week ago, I went on You tube and tried clicking on my favorite music videos...each time I clicked I had a mini video take over. One was a speaker touting EPOCH newsletter a second a speaker for EPOCH and a third something to do with drones. None would allow the video to play, nor could I delete them. The next day, all was fine. My concern: Was this a hack, a virus or some type of threat? Thanks, Allan Gair
Webroot agent Unistallation
I have multiple agents installed on users computers in my company. I do have an access to control panel and I can see agents over there but when I send a command to them and check if this command was executed in logs it says “elaspsed”. Is this because the service already expired and I am not able to communicate with agents anymore? I have read multiple threads on it and none of them solved my problem. I tried to manually uninstall agents. Most of computers run on windows 10. With CMD method “ WRSA.exe -uninstall” I get the prompt “do you really want to unistall ...” but nothing happens after it. I tired to unistal via control panel it also did not work Unfortunately running computers in safe mode is impossible because they have bitlocker installed and I do not have keys anymore. How do I unistall it via control panel without subscription? Is there any other way to unistall it ? PS. Diffrent computers have diffrent versions of webroot installed I will greatly appreciate any ad
PCI DSS Requirement 10.7
Hi, We are in the middle of a PCI compliance audit and I have been asked to answer this question "Are all anti-virus mechanisms generating audit logs, and are logs retained in accordance with PCI DSS Requirement 10.7" Does anyone know how to address this when webroot is being used?
Invalid Key code
Your security code is a code you crea
Webroot, Avast, and Windows Security....... any conflicts?
My hp desktop is a few years old and came with Windows 10, so it has Windows security software. I also have Webroot software from the store. In addition, my brother suggested VPN software, so I ended up with Avast software. Should I be worried about conflicts? Don’t see any, but I’m not a wizard on the PC, either? Should I get rid of any of this?
