I am getting this MsiInstaller error code 1013 every 15 minutes on both Windows 10 computers. It happened soon after updating Webroot with new key code. Have done this in years past and no problems. Can’t seem to get any support from Webroot when I click on “Help and Support” nothing happens.So to test my theory Webroot was the problem, I got both laptop and desktop (both Windows 10 with current updates) and was watching via computer management screen the error mention above happen every 15 minutes on both computers. On laptop I removed Webroot and started using Microsoft default virus software. No more errors have occurred on laptop for last 2 ½ hours. Still getting errors on desktop. Also, noticed something I don’t remember seeing before and that is a little padlock on the Webroot tray icon. Maybe it’s always been there ? I did set Webroot not to auto update, that hasn’t made any difference. More of the error code info is below: Product: Core -- Unable to install
Hello, So i've never had this problem before. It has just recently started. It has happened a few times. Everytime i perform a manual shutdown on Webroot it stops. A few seconds later it just auto activates itself and comes online again. I've tried going into task manager and stop Webroot processes after i've performed a manual shutdown, it didn't solve the issue. Any help would be great. Thanks

A trojan has appeared on my computer and periodically opens up a sys32 box on my screen. Every time this happens, Webroot warns me that there is an active threat named “TrojanDownloader” and a scan is needed to remove it. However, every time I scan immediately after the warning, nothing is ever found and Webroot tells me everything is fine. I know this isn’t true because the trojan continuously opens the black box every hour or so, yet Webroot tells me everything is fine.How can I remove this trojan?

I just purchased an HP AMD Ryzen 3, and along with it, Webroot internet security w/ antivirus protection. When I try to download the software, I'm prompted to switch out of S mode (which I won't be able to return to), or find a similar app in the store. Has anyone else received an email from Best Buy/Geek Squad stating that their WebRoot anti-virus software will automatically be credited? I tried to get a response from BestBuy, but their online tech named Kasey said it was a scam and that I would need to pay the full $49.99, and not the $29.99 stated in the email. I was a bit disappointed in their reply. I realize that WebRoot is not BestBuy or the Geek Squad, but WebRoot has partnered with them so hopefully someone from WebRoot or a user in the community can respond to my question and concern. Has anyone else received this type of email and did your subscription renew automatically? Thank you. After a win 10 major upgrade, I can bring up the WSA dialog box but I can’t access any of the settings - like scheduling a scan. WSA isn’t listed in my list of apps. I can’t see it listed via the control panel program list. I can see the .exe in my Programs Folder but not in Programs (x86). I can’t find any way to unistall that .exe safely - I don’t want to just delete the file.I’ve had a service request in place since 7-27-22 with no reply. I put in another one asking for at least a recognition of my request on the 29th - I just read that will put me to the end of queue - bummer.Is there some problem with service that I got no response for 2 days?
Hello - I already had Webroot but bought a new computer that came with Webroot in a package of other stuff. The sales guy said to not worry about it and just cancel it (the package) after one year before the annual subscription fee kicked in. Great. a couple of months before the subscription (with Webroot) that came with the computer expired, I paid my “normal” Webroot annual subscription. Great. Then a couple of months later I cancelled the package that came with the computer. Great, except I started getting a pop-up that says my Webroot subscription is cancelled and I need to renew. Not-Great. I called tech support and explained. They said do not worry, your original annual subscription is still good, valid and working. Great, however, since then I am still getting pop-ups from Webroot saying my subscription is expired and I need to renew now. So, my very long-winded question is: how the heck to I get the damn pop-up from continuing to tell me that my subscription is expired when in
CZUR Scanner, the client software of Windows platform developed by our company, has a blue screen of death when running on the user's computer installed webroot SecureAnywhere, and the user sent the system dmp file. I have been using webroot for years and now suddenly I get a popup in the bottom right of the screen when I open any new page or even in my video game. It stays for a few seconds then slowly vanishes. it is NOT an information screen, it just shows a box of what webroot can do. It blocks needed info and I just don’t want to see it anymore. It started yesterday 7/13/22 I am on windows 10 if that makes any difference.
I just got a new laptop and I bought the webroot software online. I was sent an email with the key code and I set up my account. I tried to download the app and I am getting this error message “This app can not run on your PC” Can some please help me figure this out? On May 22nd I started receiving messages from Microsoft...not Webroot...about a Trojan Virus on my computer. I called the 800 number on Webroot's page for support. I was directed to a company called TechVantedge. I ended up paying them $646 for assistance and the virus was still on my computer. I took my computer to someone here locally, and paid him almost $300 to clear up the problem. When I sent an inquiry to Webroot Support several weeks after that, I received a reply that Webroot provides free support to clear up viruses. I asked for a supervisor or someone in charge to contact me regarding the $646 I had spent. NO ONE has contacted me to date. I am about to cancel my Webroot and report them to the Attorney General's office.
My dad's had acct for years and passed away. I've been trying for 4 days to renew and get technical support. I'm completely computer illiterate. I've opened tickets and got no response. I found a phone # yesterday and spoke with someone claiming to be from Webroot. I gave them access to my computer and am supposed to speak with them again today. I have no idea if I got scammed and put multiple families at risk. Can someone please help!?
I paid to continue my subscription for another year two days ago, but the program still says I only have 11 days left. Why? Support is a joke. The only way to get it is to reenter a support ticket I created five years ago, which means nobody will probably read it. Why? Most technical support requests from other companies result in an immediate canned response that they will contact me shortly. This doesn’t. Why? Every time i turn on the computer, Webroot wants to make a change to my hard drive. Whether I let it or not, it asks again and again. Why? If Webroot has this much trouble doing business, how can I trust them anymore to catch viruses? Long time user getting fed up.
I am unable to get Webroot SecureAnywhere to stop running in Taskman and in services.msc. Access is denied when I choose Manual or Disable in services. Let me back up a bit by saying I had installed the trial then uninstalled after a week or so. It still starts up (WRCoreService and WRSkyClient). I have tried the Webroot removal tool which ran and stated it was removed. I even tried installing a new trial using a different email address and trial code, then uninstalled that. Same issue. There is nothing in Startup to indicate Webroot should be starting with Windows. I am unable to delete the WRCore program data folder. Access is denied.
After installing Webroot Secure Anywhere, I noticed that Windows Defender continued to run and appears as the primary security software under Windows Security - Virus & Threat Protection. This is not the case when using other security software - examples that come to mind are Norton 360 and Sophos.Also, the Windows Antimalware Service Executable is running all the time, performing scans and using significant resources. While I tried turning it off, including through the Windows Registry, it cannot be disabled.I’m pretty sure that this is a defect in the Webroot software, unless Webroot has decided to use the Windows antimalware engine in place of its own. Note that I have tried this on two different machines running Windows 10 and Windows 11 respectively with the same result. And aside from Windows Defender, which Webroot should be disabling, there’s no other security software running.I’ve opened a Support Ticket with Webroot Support, but have heard nothing yet, so I was hoping to
