File found on my computer
I found a file under "users" on my computer called Easy Survey and it has sub folders but it won't allow me to delete it saying I don't have authority, only administrator can delete. But I am the only user on this pc and I am the administrator. When I ask Webroot to scan it says there's no problem with it. Can anyone tell me what this is? Thank you for your help...I am new to this forum-just signed up today:)
Infected with Artemis!
Greetings All, My computer has been infected with the Artemis!B048C7DA8B90 virus. Specifically, it attacks my WRSA.exe and WRupdate files. A while back, I noticed Windows Update stopped working and System Restore had literally disappeared from my system (running Windows XP Service Pack 3), I can't get into Windows Firewall from Control Panel (not that I'm using it), and automatically setting Windows Update in security center doesn't work (nor can I get manual updates). So I've been updating and running McAfee Stinger, Malwarebytes, Trojan Killer, Emisoft, AVG (which I've since deleted), and Hitman Pro (Trial version). Only yesterday did I finally get a hit with McAfee Stinger which found and deleted the Artemis virus. With my WRSA.exe file gone, I had to uninstall then reinstall Webroot. I then did a Full Scan. It found no threats. I ran Stinger again and it found and deleted the same files mentioned above. Reinstalled WR again. Changed Stinger settings
High CPU Usage
(I also posted this question at Wilders...) I'm new to WSA AV so please bear with me if this may be a known issue. I'm running the AV at the default settings except for electing manual scans and adding the apps I wanted to be protected within Identity Shield. For the most part the AV has been running pretty smoothly on my system alongside the other real-time apps in my sig. I've noticed, however, that yesterday morning and again this morning while browsing sites that I visit daily and that are in no way questionable, that the CPU reading in Task Manager was 75-80% or so. I already knew that something was amiss as the fans on my 17" desktop replacement were screaming bloody murder. I had to shut down and reboot and then things were okay again both yesterday and just now. This incident has now occurred both with and without WSA AV being excluded within MBAM and OA. Any ideas what could be setting this off? I can't say that it occurred at exactly the same time but I'd guess
Unable to update
Anyone else having troubles with updating? On one system (win 7 pro 64 bit) Webroot SecureAnywhere will not update automatically or manually. In February I was told to uninstall and reinstall. It was uninstalled and reinstalled twice. In March I was told to uninstall and reinstall but they stated; "Yes, if this issue happens a third time we will want to research it further to determine the exact block for the Webroot Update." It was uninstalled and reinstalled. In April they alternate between asking for information and telling me to uninstall and reinstall. I would really like to find out why it isn't working the same way it does on my other win 7 pro 64 bit system with the same security configuration. Obviously uninstalling and reinstalling is not correcting the problem. and I am still being asked (third time this incident) to uninstall and reinstall. So, if anyone has had this issue what did you do to solve the problem? Thanks!
Missing Identity Shield Padlock
Seen several posts about this and now I have the same issue. The tray icon never has a padlock on it regardless of http or https. Thanks. Ok if I shutdown and restart WSA then launch Chrome I see the padlock for about 10 seconds then it goes away. Is this normal?
No Alert Popup in the system tray
Fresh install of WSA AV 2014 (126.96.36.199). I unchecked "Prevent interuptions" and "automaticlly quarintine previously block files" per Triple Helix. I download the eicar test file and not a peep. I execute it and not a peep. I open up the main GUI and it tells me an infection was found please scan. Whats up with this. Previous version did not do this. Thanks. Just downloaded some malware samples and not one pop up. Opened up the main GUI and same thing. Infections found run a scan. What gives?
Identity Protection Errors
I was running BitDefender at the same time and uninstalling it fixed these issues. I just started using Webroot on two of my PCs and I started to see strange things right away, most of them attributed to the Identity Protection aspect, and I'm afraid this is going to continue further. The sign of a good antivirus program is to not realize it's there, and I understand how difficult this can be, but I also know it's possible by working with popular programs to stabalize features, and I would say Chrome and Firefox fall into those categories. Here are my two issues:

Firefox downloads would instantly stop when loading a new page in private browsing
Chrome would not connect to any pages until ID Protection was set to "allow".
I was able to replicate these issues on two computers running Windows 8.1 x64. Has anyone else experienced weird issues with ID protection? I look forward to seeing this feature improved because I can assume that it is most usefu
Using both Windows 7 & 8 on a website I keep getting the message that "EDITED" is a threat to my computer and the webpage has been closed. This happens when I try to email or open a link. As I understand it, this "EDITED" is used to open and share links, in this case crochet patterns, and wonder is this particular item a true threat to my computer? Thx for the help. Edited by DavidP1970: The 'file" name in quotes is a redirect to a 3rd party link.
Suspicious File Submission
Hi, I have recently submitted a suspicious file to Webroot through the Webroot software (Under Utilities , Submit File option). The upload completed successfully, however is there a way to do a follow up on this file ?, since no support ticket was created along with it. Thanks in advance for your assistance. Carlos
Problem with Web Filtering extension
I got the black friday deal for WSA AntiVirus, but once I renewed with the new keycode my Webroot Web Filter extension wasn't showing up in my browser anymore. So I reinstalled WSA but now I dont have the PKG folder in the WRData folder. Eventually will the PKG folder be installed again so I can use the Web Filter extension? My current sofware version is 188.8.131.52. Also if I want to install Eset AV, is their a certain order to install the two programs, like installing WSA first and then Eset?
File name Warning
Message came up "There is a File or folder on your computer called "c:program" which could cause certain applications to not function corretly, renaming it to "c:program1" would solve the problem. Would you like to rename it now? I know not to do this, but whats up with this? Any body know.
Hi everyone, I see a lot of posts about Webroot having a browser extension, and in the Webroot settings I see an option to display safetey ratings in search results, but I don't have any extension from Webroot, and I also don't have any ratings from Webroot in my search results. Is this only a feature of the higher level subscriptions, or is the AntiVirus supposed to have this too? Thanks, Shran
Webroot installed A Firefox Extension....can't get rid of it.
Without my knowledge, consent or permission, Webroot installed whats called: "Webroot Filtering Extension" in my Firefox browser. Webroot's extension does not provide a "Remove" button which all ofher Firefox extensions have. Nor does it have an uninstall option through the conrol panel.
Not getting along with NIS
Hi everyone, Today I was using my computer as usual, and Webroot suddenly threw up a "Infection found" message. I ran a scan and it found 2 rootkits, however, these two rootkits were registry keys that turned out belonged to Norton, and when Webroot tried to remove them (I see from the quarantine that it removed more than just the two that the realtime protection caught) Norton went absolutely crazy. Norton's auto protect failed and couldn't get turned back on by Norton's "Auto-fix" and in the Norton logs I see "unauthorized access blocked...C:Program FilesWebrootWRSA.exe". Norton also asked me to uninstall Webroot (which I have temporarily) but I have been loving Webroot and will probably re-install it, but I want to get this fixed so that I can run them both together. I know that the system is clean because it was a backup image that I had made after a completely clean installation of Windows just yesterday. Another thing I noticed is that after installing and even after
No Webfiltering in IE 11 or Chrome
Hi..............I just installed WSA 2014 and so far I am not impressed. Please fix my problem. I have uninstalled and reinstalled 2x. There is no webshield/filter running or installed in either IE 11 or Chrome. I am using Win 7 Home Premium 64bit. There is also an ongoing thread at Wilders. I do not even have the crx file listed by Triple Helix. So what gives? IThe eicar test does not even get blocked. Thanks. Keylogging browser extensions
What is WSA IS's ability to protect against keylogging by extensions on the following browsers: Internet Explorer Chrome Firefox Example: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/kl/?src=cb-dl-created Additionally, an extension-based keylogger in Firefox and Chrome would be impossible to detect by WSA since the file extensions are not monitored (Chrome) or are usually made up of plain text components (Firefox), is that correct?
Webroot not allowing network connection
So I have been having issues connecting to the internet the last week or so, ever since the last Windows 7 update.. Whether wireless or hooked up to router, nothing.I keep getting an error message " no ip address" . I turned off Webroot, everything is working again, connectivity, ip address, until I enable Webroot. Any ideas?
new keycode but password manager says my webroot is expired
I put in a new keycode and did the same for the other 2 pc's and everything is working except the password manager that says it's expired. What do I need to do to fix this and get my auto fill passwords working again? thanks for the help Chris
Identity Shield not working
I have been testing Webroot's Identity Shield and multiple times it does not stop the screen grabing attack. It is sucsesfull at blocking most (most, but not all) keystrokes from being logged, however, when using a screen capture program Webroot does not block or even notify that an application is attempting to take screenshots. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling Webroot multiple times but I get the same results. Please advise. Shran
Why do you suppose Webroot's Help & Support doesn't load?
When I access the Help and Support using the Webroot SecureAnywhere v184.108.40.206 's process in the following procedure:

go to Systray
click small up arrow to make hidden items appear
right click on Webroot SecureAnywhere's icon, and
select Help and Support
the redirect takes me to http://products.webroot.com/disp0201.php?oc=219&pc=64150&rc=2713&kc=p%5ESP%5E% which does not load? A blank page appears. I operate Windows 7 Home Premium, Internet Explorer 11.0.9600.16428. Is this another peculiarity of IE 11? In the past when I had the previous version of Webroot SecureAnywhere, and also had IE 10, everything worked smoothly. But now that is not the case. edit added: Also when I click the above link (after posting this query), the same blank page appears. I'm not certain that the link is complete.
