WSA seems to be blocking functionality of Shadow Defender
Has anyone recently experienced an issue with SD indicating that it is not in Shadow Mode when it actually is? I'm currently in Shadow Mode, and the desktop tip is not showing on the desktop even though I have the option checked for it to show when operating in Shadow Mode. The tray icon is also orange instead of blue like it should be when operating in Shadow Mode. The only way I know i'm operating in Shadow Mode is by going to Mode Setting, and looking at the status. I think WSA is the culprit because WSA has blocked the functionality of SD several times in the past. WSA would not allow SD's GUI to launch about 3 months ago, and I opened a support ticket on it. I currently have a support ticket for this with Webroot right now. I'm just wondering if anyone else is running them together, and if they are experiencing any conflicts as well.[img]https://d1qy7qyune0vt1.cloudfront.net/webroot-en
Anyone using WSA with another AV?
I was wondering if anyone else was using WSA with another AV. I know WSA has become much more robust than the Prevx days when it was marketed as an additional security layer to detect the threats that other AV's commonly missed. If you are using WSA with another AV then are you having any conflicts? I just installed WSA 18.104.22.168 with the final release of NOD 32 V7.0.302.0. I have not rebooted yet, but immediately I just had an issue with Firefox right after installing WSA. I clicked Firefox, and it never did run. I waited for about 30 seconds, and it never ran. I clicked it again, and it ran about 3 seconds after I clicked it a second time. I checked the task manager, and there was 2 instances of Firefox running.
Great product and customer service
I've been using SecureAnywhere Antivirus for the past few months as part of the Facebook free trial and I've been very impressed. The software is very fast and has never caused any slowdowns unlike other antivirus programs I have used. Also I've received prompt and helpful advice from customer support whenever I've had a problem. Today my question about a detected threat whilst updating to Windows 8.1 was answered in less than five minutes! I'll definitely be buying a new subscription soon before the trial expires and would recommend Webroot to my friends and family.
Search engine protection.
I have installed a trial of webroot secureanywhere on 3 machines. 2 of the machines are windows 8 Problem is that search engine protection is only working on one of them and I can't understand why. On one machine I have green ticks in bing searches. On the other machine which is the machine i'm using now it's not working. I have tried uninstalling, restarting computer then reinstalling but the search engine protection still isn't working. I have checked the settings in webroot and both machines are set exactly the same. So this problem is baffling me. What do I have to do to get the search engine protection working?
WSA blocking install of latest NullDC emulator. Any advice?
Ive tired to install the above (I have an older version of NullDC 1.04 on my PC which runs without any problems). I downloaded the latest version 22.214.171.124 which I then extracted with 7Zip. When I tried to run it, WSA blocked two files as bad and removed them. NullDC refuses to launch without them. The files are: nulldc_gui_win32.dll nulldc_104_r136emitter_win32.dll Why has it done this? Are these files malicious, or are they false positives? I recently stopped using Norton because it forcefully removed Malwarebytes pro while installing then let a load of PUP malware on one my my computers. I installed webroot secure anywhere antivirus and thankfully it didn't uninstall malwarebytes. I really want both malwarebytes pro realtime protection as well as webroot running together so I don't get another computer infested with potentially unwanted programs. Is it safe to have both webroot and malwarebytes pro running side by side? If not is there anyway to configure webroot to allow this?
Has anyone experienced dramatic slowing of system since new update?
I have been using Webroot AV for over a year with no problem whatsoever affecting my system's speed performance. After the new update all my video streaming has suffered dramatic slowing, often even stopping for long periods of time. I have rebooted, had my ISP send a refresh signal to my modem, tried running nothing but one single video (I was before able to have several browser windows open and streaming without slightest problem. I pay for Comcast's top speed and have run speed checks that don't show any reduction in latency, download or upload speeds. This has only occurred since WRSA update. I am seriously disappointed. Did you guys try to fix something that wasn't broken?
How can I look at the threats?
So now that webroot has updated the interface, I cannot see a list of the threats it has found. On the main screen, it says it has removed one threat, but I cannot click on that. Going through all the screens, I only found a way to save the threat log to a file. This was buried deep in a menu, under Utilities -> Reports -> Save Threat Log. Is there an easier way to do it? What happened to the ability to mark a threat as being safe? Now it is just written to a file without the ability to decide what happens to it (Quarantine, Delete, etc) Strange changes.
software KVM switch issue
I use an old KVM switch to share keyboard, video and mouse betwen two machines. One of these machines still runs XP, the other W7. Older KVM switches don't ordinarily work with W7, but I found that installing a software KVM (Kavoom!) made the old KVM hardware work just fine. It also allowed convenient switching between machines using on-screen buttons. Now that I've installed WSA, the hardware continues to function properly, but software switching no longer works because the WSA firewall closes the port used by the software for switching, cut & paste between machines, etc. This raises a general question for me in how much tailoring the user can do with the WSA firewall (opening/closing ports, etc.)?
Problem with Chrome
I have a problem with Chrome and Webroot Secure Anywhere Antivirus. When I reach site: www.gastronomos.gr with Firefox and Internet Explorer Webroot blocks the connection because of a known threat and so on. In Chrome I reach the site normally and no blocking from Webroot what so ever. Why is that?
WSA Antivirus not recognised
After getting my laptop back from being cleaned, (a full valet) the 'KNOWHOW Computer Checkup report' states that no Antivirus has been detected although I have Secure Anywhere Antivirus installed and is displaying the 'green tick' and that I have 231 days subscription left. Can anyone tell me why it should say this?
After running the system analyzer in webroot anywhere the following results were reflected in the detailed report . I have spent two months with Microsoft trying to figure out why my automatic updates are not working properly. The latest recommendation is that I do a factory reset. Really, really don't want to have to do that AGAIN! Can you tell me where Webroot gets each date listed below? Windows Updates ---------------------------------------------------------------- Auto Update State Enabled Update Type Automatica
WSA AV popup messages are being instantly closed (they disappear) before I can read them.
Like the little grey boxes that sometimes pop up in the bottom right corner, I think to scan new files. Or sometimes the STOP warning when a website is insecure, which is the only alert /messageI remember getting that wasn't instatnly hidden from me before I could read it. Its always happened since I've used Webroot. Windows 8 x64, Comodo FW (I still have this problem with or without its HIPS enabled.) I'd like to know if anyone, or everyone, or noone else has noticed this problem. Are you able to see these messages? The settings are at max security.
Will WSA wake up a sleeping system?
Hello! I'm new to WSA and am testing a trial version of the program. I normally put my Win 7 system to "sleep" when I'm not actively using it, and a few minutes ago it "woke up" all by itself and a lot of disk activity started. Does anyone know if WSA is smart enough to wake a "sleeping" system when a scan is scheduled to be done? Thanks, Wayne
I want to download the latest version of SecureAnywhere AV. I have three PC's (+required licence) - two of which have updated - but one has not. Can someone please provide me with a link to straight download. So far I have only been able to get to an update (to the next level programs), and alternatively a link to buy now downloads. Hope this make sense! Perhaps an alternative would be for me to download a trial -and just insert my current licence number. I am anxious not to confuse the WR records and somehow negate my present licence number etc Thanks in advance

go to webroot community won't work in a std account
Just got the new Webroot update today, it seems quite nice. I have one problem though, when I try to access WR with the community button, the read now button, or any button that opens communication with WR I have to be in my administrator's acct. I can't access WR while in my standard account. It's quite rare if I am ever using my admin. acct. I'd like to see the new version of WR able to access 'home' without having to use an administrator account. My computer's os is Windows 7 Pro 64
File name Warning
Message came up "There is a File or folder on your computer called "c:program" which could cause certain applications to not function corretly, renaming it to "c:program1" would solve the problem. Would you like to rename it now? I know not to do this, but whats up with this? Any body know.
