I have been using Webroot AV for over a year with no problem whatsoever affecting my system's speed performance. After the new update all my video streaming has suffered dramatic slowing, often even stopping for long periods of time. I have rebooted, had my ISP send a refresh signal to my modem, tried running nothing but one single video (I was before able to have several browser windows open and streaming without slightest problem. I pay for Comcast's top speed and have run speed checks that don't show any reduction in latency, download or upload speeds. This has only occurred since WRSA update. I am seriously disappointed. Did you guys try to fix something that wasn't broken?
I use an old KVM switch to share keyboard, video and mouse betwen two machines. One of these machines still runs XP, the other W7. Older KVM switches don't ordinarily work with W7, but I found that installing a software KVM (Kavoom!) made the old KVM hardware work just fine. It also allowed convenient switching between machines using on-screen buttons. Now that I've installed WSA, the hardware continues to function properly, but software switching no longer works because the WSA firewall closes the port used by the software for switching, cut & paste between machines, etc. This raises a general question for me in how much tailoring the user can do with the WSA firewall (opening/closing ports, etc.)?
I have a problem with Chrome and Webroot Secure Anywhere Antivirus. When I reach site: www.gastronomos.gr with Firefox and Internet Explorer Webroot blocks the connection because of a known threat and so on. In Chrome I reach the site normally and no blocking from Webroot what so ever. Why is that?
Just got the new Webroot update today, it seems quite nice. I have one problem though, when I try to access WR with the community button, the read now button, or any button that opens communication with WR I have to be in my administrator's acct. I can't access WR while in my standard account. It's quite rare if I am ever using my admin. acct. I'd like to see the new version of WR able to access 'home' without having to use an administrator account. My computer's os is Windows 7 Pro 64
Like the little grey boxes that sometimes pop up in the bottom right corner, I think to scan new files. Or sometimes the STOP warning when a website is insecure, which is the only alert /messageI remember getting that wasn't instatnly hidden from me before I could read it. Its always happened since I've used Webroot. Windows 8 x64, Comodo FW (I still have this problem with or without its HIPS enabled.) I'd like to know if anyone, or everyone, or noone else has noticed this problem. Are you able to see these messages? The settings are at max security.

Hello! I'm new to WSA and am testing a trial version of the program. I normally put my Win 7 system to "sleep" when I'm not actively using it, and a few minutes ago it "woke up" all by itself and a lot of disk activity started. Does anyone know if WSA is smart enough to wake a "sleeping" system when a scan is scheduled to be done? Thanks, Wayne
I want to download the latest version of SecureAnywhere AV. I have three PC's (+required licence) - two of which have updated - but one has not. Can someone please provide me with a link to straight download. So far I have only been able to get to an update (to the next level programs), and alternatively a link to buy now downloads. Hope this make sense! Perhaps an alternative would be for me to download a trial -and just insert my current licence number. I am anxious not to confuse the WR records and somehow negate my present licence number etc Thanks in advance
Hi everyone. Havent been on here for a while. Must admit, I recently went to the dark side and installed Norton IS (basically for my kids online protection etc). So sorry I did! Constant blue screens on logon etc. So Im back with WSA now. Please forgive me! lol! Anyway, my question is this: my old version of webroot was upgraded (nice job people, better interface etc). Is it better to uninstall, and reinstall the new version, as I`m not sure if its working properly? Also, no desktop icon was created either. I know I can do it myself, but is this normal? Any advice would be appreciated. LOVE THIS SOFTWARE!!!
hello , i installed norton 2014 and webroot 2014 but webroot search result protection and antiphishing is not working (site's that brightcloud shows they are infected and shows warning and norton shows warning too but webroot does nothing) and in search results the search engine protection does nothing(nothing shows) is it normal?!
I'm still waiting for the update. Always in the last stand of the roll out because I'm at the other end of the world. When is Webroot gonna make the roll out of updates at close times if not equal times to all the parts of the world? This is the only thing I dislike about WSA. I also get replies to my support ticket after 12 hrs due to timezone differences.
Hi Everyone I'm new here - so forgive me if I ask a question that has been already covered. I have SecureAnywhere 2013 AV (3 licence) - have used this for about 3 months or so, with complete success and I am well pleased with every aspect of this product. I am intrigued that one of my PC's shows version 8.0.3 and the other 2 show version 8.0.2 Does this mean that two machines have not updated? Thanks in advance for your comments
Summary of the situation and what has transpired. MANY months ago mail.com sort of quit working. I found out that mail.com no longer allows mail to be sent using Outlook and will begin email retrieval. I understand their reasoning and do not object. However, that meant changing every account that used that email account to a different account. Over a period of several months this was done and was completed, except for Webroot, many months ago. There is nothing I can do to change my email address at Webroot. Instead, Webroot had to handle the situation behind the scenes. While I keep being told that the situation has been handled I keep getting emails at the mail.com address that are not received at the current address. Every location (forum, support, account, etc.) that I can update myself was updated. So, the issue is another behind-the-scenes fix. I started getting renewal notices... you guessed it... at the OLD email addr
Logged onto my computer yesterday and got a renewal notice from Webroot saying there was a problem with my renewal. My subscription is paid through January 30 of 2014. I bought Webroot many years ago from Best Buy and have been happy pretty much. I've never had this happen before. My renewal is through them. I called the number on the notice and got Geek Squad. After a long time on the phone (being cut off once and had to call back and wait 20 more minutes), my phone needing charging 3 times, etc., I was told I was correct and my account is active (by 3 different people). Finally got an "agent" online to help me and he did actually uninstall and reinstall Webroot after about a little over an hour. I was told it was a problem with my key code saying it had expired. Indeed, when I pull up Webroot, it shows my account is active but the keycode is "expired." They referred me to billing. Called them and they told me that this
Well, I went on the computer and it was already logged in, and a message was displayed on the screen from Windows saying "other people are logged on to this computer" and giving me an option to log off or something like that. I found 2 bank related windows open, but later found this was my dad attempting to do banking stuff. But when I told him about the second user, he was confused. Here is what it looks like, but on a different user. (The message was on the Administrator account.) (Hi all! First post here :)) Anyone got the same? system tools>reports>protection statistics>view: X execution history>view>more info>details: X active processes>start>more info>details: X After reinstall it still happens.
Yesterday, I tried to install some critical Firefox updates. Webroot immediately detected a threat, so I scanned my computer. It said if found 2 trojans, plus detected the update installer as a threat. Today, I was using Chrome and it said my Chrome was outdated and to download a newer version. Webroot said this was a threat (even tho I said it was OK to install) and this time it just detected the Chrome updater as a threat, but didn't detect any viruses. Can someone help as to how I can install updated browsers for Firefox & Chrome? I've never had this happen before.
