Appreciate input from our expert mods on this question: Webroot has a firewall which compliments Windows Firewall. Would a 3rd party firewall be better?? Would ones PC be more secure instead of Windows Firewall?? Or would a third party firewall be incompatible with Webroot?? The are some great firewalls out there, however what are your thoughts on this?
I got a refund of Webroot because it was causing some BSOD in my system. But after I uninstalled Appguard, I did not get any BSOD anymore, so I think the problem was with appguard + webroot. Now I want to buy Webroot again to use it alone in realtime, but my old key is still working in "My Webroot" console (it says I have 356 days remaining). Should I just add the new key in the console? How do I delete the old key?
My last computer was destoyed when a window popped up mimicing a MS WINDOW and said a virus was attacking- needless to say my old computer was destroyed due to the damage. I once again received the same POP UP window but this time I shut down my computer. The only real difference in computer protection is this one has WEBROOT but Webroot DID NOT recognize this attack and did absolutely nothing to stop it so I shut down my computer immediately. Please help a damsel in distress. What can be done about averting these attacks in the future? Merci Beaucoup...
Hi, I am currently using Windows 7 x64 PC and using Webroot Secure AnyWhere AV. I normally tend to do a quick deep scan to check for Malware(s). Never has Webroot detected any Malware(s) when I do a Deep scan but now for some reason when I did a full scan it says "active threats: 5" and "Threats Removed: 8". I understand that maybe Deep scan did not detect few Malware(s). Then I downloaded Microsoft Security Essentials and ran a scan with that as well to find few malware with the following name:

Trojan:Win32/Delf.M
VirTool:WinNt/Siapag.gen!B
Backdoor:Win32/Farfli.A
Trojan:Win32/Lodap!rts
Exploit:Win32/CplLnk.B
Webroot does remove few Malware(s) I have on my system but for some reason there are few Active Threats. Why does Webroot not remove them from system. I did a custom scan to sc
Hello again. Well, a few days ago Webroot popped up on our laptop saying it wasn't sure about a process. The options were "block" or "allow" and it would automatically block it in a minute or so. I wanted to search this process to see if it was okay but I never got the name because Webroot already blocked it. So, how can I find the process again?
About a month and a half ago I purchased a 1 year subscription for Prevx anti-malware software. This was installed along Trend Micro Titanium Security and Malwarebytes Anti-malware Pro. This computer is only used for finances and nothing else (I keep it updated and locked down pretty good). So let's just say I freaked out when I noticed some unknown software running on my laptop. Lately I also noticed a little bit of slowdown during boot but didn't think much of it. Until this morning that is. I noticed a popup saying something about Webroot SecureAnywhere software running a scan. Webroot? I never purchased or installed your software. It appears Prevx was owned by Webroot and was recently integrated into Webroot software. That's all fine I don't care. Good for you I guess. Do you guys have any idea how people react to some unknown software they never installed? The only people who do these creepy stealth installs are people writing malware hoping you'll stumble upon an infected

Need some advice on this: I am running SpyShelter along with Webroot. All processes are encrypted with SpyShelter and SpyShelter has hips. What is the community opinion on this....Is SpyShelter needed since I have Webroot??? Or does Webroot compliment Spyshelter??? Thanks again for the help;)
I have been going over all the features of Webroot, and digesting the information on how everything works. What has come to mine is this: If for whatever reason the cloud database is not available, how than does the offine shield protect my PC on threats??? Is it safe to go on the net due to the fact Webroot can't access the database to protect my PC? Are there sufficient files within Webroot to stop any malicious attacks??? What I find interesting is: do all the shield components rely on the database??? If they do and the cloud database is down, are we unprotected at that point??? Await your response and thanks in advance.:D
Gentlemen: I would appreciate more insight on this subject of Emails and how Webroot protects your system. Now I have contacted support and asked them when incoming mail arrives I have (Windows Live Mail) does Webroot scan these emails, I was told no.....however the shield components would address that issue if I was to download a malicious file and neutralize it. Now to my point........when I receive emails and click on the email to view.............That could trigger a malicious code or start of a malicious exec................will Webroot protect and neutralize this.............. How does Webroot protect mail coming in???? Appreciate your insight on this, as I am a new customer. Thanks in advance. :D

Well. I just discovered yesterday that our computer had tons of adware and malware. First, I came on and I saw 2 things: 1, a fake PC scanner program, and 2 something called 'Yontoo.' I did a quick search on Yontoo and found it was malicious. I asked my Dad if he installed anything, and he said Adobe popped up, saying he had to install the latest software. He believed it since it was Adobe, and his only options were 'OK.' I did a scan with Webroot and found no threats, but when I tried deleting Yontoo Webroot continuously popped up about security. Then I decided to turn off the computer and boot it into Safe Mode. I restored the computer to 05/10/13. As I left Safe Mode I discovered another adware program on our desktop about "Best FaceBook Messenger." I deleted that with no problems afterwards. I guess I never really noticed it, but when we opened Firefox it lead us to start.conduit.com, another malicious toolbar. I deleted it on Firefox and a 'Java Script' that I found wh
Hi everybody. I am (was?) a long time Kaspersky user and I've always been happy with KAV. Up until recently, when BSODs with stop code 9F started randomly appearing on two different machines, my production PC and my HTPC, just before entering suspension. The minidumps pointed to the LAN card drivers, but the two PCs have completely different ethernet adapters and thus completely different drivers, so it seemed a bit strange. Also, those drivers had been in place for months without a hiccup so again it appeared weird they would cause problems simultanously all of a sudden. The only thing they had in common was Kaspersky, so I thought an update from them introduced the BSOD. To test my diagnosis, I replaced Kaspersky with MS Security Essentials on my HTPC (which has very limited internet access anyway) and activated a SecureAnywhere Antivirus trial on my production machine. The BSODs are so far gone, so I was probably right in my assumption. Weberoot's software felt immediately v
Hey, so today I logged on to our home computer and a message popped up. It had the FBI, CIA, etc and said that our computer was locked. It was apparently locked due to suspicion of illegal activity. I used my iPod to see if this was indeed a virus and it turns out it was a trojan, I think. That's pretty scary for me because I know trojans are for accessing someone's system and for our computer to have it definitely terrified me. Windows Task Manager was disabled, because of the virus, too. I did a scan with your program and it removed the trojan. Windows Task Manager worked again as well. I would like more information about this certain virus, if you guys have ever heard of it. Also, how exactly could it have been sent to our computer? I would really like to know that. I want to make sure we weren't already hacked. And are we safe from any attackers? The virus is removed, but I'm worried if damage was already done or can still be done with the virus having been there previously. Any ad
I called Webrrot a couple of days ago because my new keycode wasn't able to get activated. He told me my new one and it worked. Today, I went to check and see that it went back to the old keycode and I tried to activate it again and get a message saying, 'Error: FZLC0056: Invalid or Unknown Key Code." I should only have about 100 days left and it says that I have 224 days remaining. My original Key Code was *keycode removed by moderator* and that doesn't seem to work either, even if I enter it in like this *keycode removed by moderator* , it still won't activate.
Ok so i tried everything under the sun to delete this annoying program from my computer. It keeps prompting to renew the program everytime i log in my computer. I tried deleting it from control panel-add remove programs, but its not even on the list to uninstall it! Someone please help with this issue. Oh i have a Vaio laptop if that helps at all.
Anyone else having troubles with updating? On one system (win 7 pro 64 bit) Webroot SecureAnywhere will not update automatically or manually. In February I was told to uninstall and reinstall. It was uninstalled and reinstalled twice. In March I was told to uninstall and reinstall but they stated; "Yes, if this issue happens a third time we will want to research it further to determine the exact block for the Webroot Update." It was uninstalled and reinstalled. In April they alternate between asking for information and telling me to uninstall and reinstall. I would really like to find out why it isn't working the same way it does on my other win 7 pro 64 bit system with the same security configuration. Obviously uninstalling and reinstalling is not correcting the problem. and I am still being asked (third time this incident) to uninstall and reinstall. So, if anyone has had this issue what did you do to solve the problem? Thanks!
