I am currently trialing WSA. For years I have been a fan of Prevx so when I read that they had been acquired by Webroot I was skeptical about its future. I need not have worried, Webroot has taken an already excellent program and actually improved it. I intend to purchase this software when my trial expires.
Site blocked- FP?
Hi, The website was blocked by WSA. I knew this was a clean site but wasn't sure as sites are comprimised often. So is this a FP? Or is the site okay? Best Wishes, Amit
Will WSA Logs Utility run in Safe mode?
I was thinking about trying WSA on my Laptop again. The last time my Laptop would not boot anymore. It would freeze right after Windows login. Since my Laptop may not boot anymore I was wondering if WSA Logs utility will run in safe mode. Safe mode disables Windows installer so I was thinking it probably wouldn't, but maybe some portable application would run. So, will WSA Utility run in Safe Mode?
Problems with typing
Hi! Since I use Webroot Secure Anywhere Antivirus (I installed the programm two days ago), I´ve experienced this problem: When typing in browser line or any other field on a website, the first letter doesn´t appear, so I´ve first to press a button and afterwards I can type, which is very annoying. In a customer review on amazon I´ve found a review, where a customer complains about keyboard problems, and Mike Rush replied that this is a known problem and there´s a solution for it: "This is actually just an instance where you have to set your keyboard processes to "Allow" within the Identity Shield. I apologize for any frustration but these instructions will most likely resolve the keyboard issues. Open Webroot, click Identity & Privacy, click View/Edit Protected Applications, find your keyboard processes and set them to "Allow". Mike R" When I click on "allow" for iexplore.exe and mozilla.exe in the Protected Applications settings the problem disappears. So my questio
Is This a Webroot Message?
Well, I was on our computer today and I noticed a small white box at the bottom of the screen saying "Installation Successful." or something and the options below the message were "Install Now" and "Install Later". Part of me wanted to click Install Now to see what it was installing, but in case it was a virus I didn't, so I clicked Install Later. Now I'm wondering if it might've been a message from Webroot. Any ideas...? I did a scan with Webroot and HitManPro and apparently no threats were found.
Does anyone know if Webroot Antivirus works with Steam?
Usually when I use Steam there are updates that happen regularly, however, ever since I installed Webroot Antivirus I haven't seen a single one. Does anyone know if this antivirus is compatible with Steam. Any help would be greatly appreciated. By the way, Steam is allowed in my firewall if that means anything.
Pics showing up even after erasing with WSA!
Hi, I've deleted some pics using Permanently erase files with Webroot SecureAnywhere. I could find them nowhere. Not in Recycle Bin nor in searches. But when I went to my settings here in the Community and wanted to change my avatar I could see all those pics in the From My Albums. If the pics are permanently erased by WSA how they appear in the avatar settings? Best Wishes, Amit
Webroot System Analyzer - low RAM & ReadyBoost!
Hi, Webroot System Analyzer shows I have low and outdated RAM(1003MB) which is impacting my pc performance. I'm using ReadyBoost feature of Win7 with an old Flash Drive that I found going through some old packaging. As far I understood ReadyBoost, it should have compensated the low memory prob as long as the flash drive is connected. So what's the problem? What am I missing? Best Wishes, AmitWebr
This program doesn't seem legit
webroot security showed up on my pc today, and i have not downloaded it. I havent downloaded anything. i highly suspect this to be a virus, but I can't find amy mention of it on google, and I also cannot uninstall it. It told me that my pc was infected and asked if I was sure. Then after I said I was sure, it made me fill out a captcha image, then it opened up IE, but Im not sure where to since I had the internet unplugged. for now it does appear to be uninstalled, but Im not sure. Im running my virus protection programs again just to be safe, but I figured I would check here to see if anyone had any input. Thanks!
Scan starts running at every startup
Hi, I have Secure Anywhere version 126.96.36.199. Just recently it started running a system scan everytime I startup the computer. It has always been scheduled for once a week. From what I've read that if a scheduled scan is missed, it will run. I understand that. But once it completes that scan successfully, why is it running again the very next time I startup the computer, which might be just a few hours later? Seems to me if it made up for the missed scheduled scan it should not run again. Nothing on the system has changed during that time I was online. No downloads, no new software etc. Right now it's maxing out the CPU for about 20 mins at startup and you can't do anything until its completed the scan. I've tried unchecking the scan at startup box, but it's still starts a scan at every startup. Please advise. Thanks, Scott

WSA (Webroot Secure Anywhere) kills defender.exe
I have made this same post over at Shadow Defender's Official forum. Please fix! Today I installed Shadow Defender version 188.8.131.526 on my father's computer. He has Windows Vista 32 bit on his PC. I then tried to access SD's UI by double clicking on the tray icon. I discovered that each time I double clicked on SD's tray icon that the UI would briefly appear, and close on its own just as soon as it appeared. I tried disabling UAC first, and found that this did nothing to resolve the issue. I tried to access it from Windows start menu, and the UI would still close as soon as it appeared. Next I shut down WSA (Webroot Secure Anywhere), and then opened Shadow Defender's UI by double clicking the tray icon. The UI stayed opened as expected, and no longer closed. I opened SD's UI multiple times while WSA was shut down, and had no further issue with SD's UI closing. I then opened Window's task manager to see that DefenderDaem

3rd Party Firewall
Appreciate input from our expert mods on this question: Webroot has a firewall which compliments Windows Firewall. Would a 3rd party firewall be better?? Would ones PC be more secure instead of Windows Firewall?? Or would a third party firewall be incompatible with Webroot?? The are some great firewalls out there, however what are your thoughts on this?
Key stil working after refund?
I got a refund of Webroot because it was causing some BSOD in my system. But after I uninstalled Appguard, I did not get any BSOD anymore, so I think the problem was with appguard + webroot. Now I want to buy Webroot again to use it alone in realtime, but my old key is still working in "My Webroot" console (it says I have 356 days remaining). Should I just add the new key in the console? How do I delete the old key?
HELP VIRUS TROJAN
My last computer was destoyed when a window popped up mimicing a MS WINDOW and said a virus was attacking- needless to say my old computer was destroyed due to the damage. I once again received the same POP UP window but this time I shut down my computer. The only real difference in computer protection is this one has WEBROOT but Webroot DID NOT recognize this attack and did absolutely nothing to stop it so I shut down my computer immediately. Please help a damsel in distress. What can be done about averting these attacks in the future? Merci Beaucoup...
Detected but not Removed
Hi, I am currently using Windows 7 x64 PC and using Webroot Secure AnyWhere AV. I normally tend to do a quick deep scan to check for Malware(s). Never has Webroot detected any Malware(s) when I do a Deep scan but now for some reason when I did a full scan it says "active threats: 5" and "Threats Removed: 8". I understand that maybe Deep scan did not detect few Malware(s). Then I downloaded Microsoft Security Essentials and ran a scan with that as well to find few malware with the following name:

Trojan:Win32/Delf.M
VirTool:WinNt/Siapag.gen!B
Backdoor:Win32/Farfli.A
Trojan:Win32/Lodap!rts
Exploit:Win32/CplLnk.B
Webroot does remove few Malware(s) I have on my system but for some reason there are few Active Threats. Why does Webroot not remove them from system. I did a custom scan to sc
How to Look at Blocked Processes?
Hello again. Well, a few days ago Webroot popped up on our laptop saying it wasn't sure about a process. The options were "block" or "allow" and it would automatically block it in a minute or so. I wanted to search this process to see if it was okay but I never got the name because Webroot already blocked it. So, how can I find the process again?
Stealth install of Webroot software
About a month and a half ago I purchased a 1 year subscription for Prevx anti-malware software. This was installed along Trend Micro Titanium Security and Malwarebytes Anti-malware Pro. This computer is only used for finances and nothing else (I keep it updated and locked down pretty good). So let's just say I freaked out when I noticed some unknown software running on my laptop. Lately I also noticed a little bit of slowdown during boot but didn't think much of it. Until this morning that is. I noticed a popup saying something about Webroot SecureAnywhere software running a scan. Webroot? I never purchased or installed your software. It appears Prevx was owned by Webroot and was recently integrated into Webroot software. That's all fine I don't care. Good for you I guess. Do you guys have any idea how people react to some unknown software they never installed? The only people who do these creepy stealth installs are people writing malware hoping you'll stumble upon an infected
