I make calls through Google Voice when at home since I have no phone signal. I recently renewed my WebRoot subscription and the platform updated to the 2021 version of Webroot SecureAnywhere Antivirus (according to the interface.) Suddenly my microphone no longer works when I’m using it in any browser. I tested various browsers, disabled browser extensions, and checked both browser/Windows microphone permissions. Microphone does not work until I turn off WebRoot. Something in the software is blocking my microphone and I cannot figure out which setting it would be. The help page on WebRoot’s different “Shield” settings is vague and hasn’t given me any answers; I did find another community post from years ago here that had a similar issue that recommended checking Active Connections, but as the browsers do not appear as active connections in the interface, this solve hasn’t worked for me. Would definitely appreciate help, since I cannot narrow down which setting it is and it is ridiculou

Star Wars Squadrons won’t launch for users of Web Root. EA has fixed this issue twice and now re-introduced the problem once again. I believe the problem is related to the Easy ant-cheat software the game uses. Simply turning the anti-virus off won’t allow the game to launch, Webroot has to actually be uninstalled for the game to launch until EA does whatever magic it needs to resolve the issue again. If they even do so.Has anyone else encountered this problem with EA games or the Easy anti-cheat software? Is there some other way to resolve the issue that doesn’t involve relying on EA?I like using Webroot and don’t give it up, but if it’s going to cause issues in launching games I love, I may need to seek alternatives.
Hi! I bought a webroot subscription card from best buy on August, and saw it wasn’t scanning anything lately so I decided to check on it. It’s not working and it turns out to fix the problem I have to uninstall and install the program again. The thing is, I lost my 20 digit keycode and I don’t think I created my webroot account because none of my emails are being recognized. Could someone help me retrieve my keycode? I have my purchase confirmation email for proof if needed.
I was scrolling through my usual mod site and came across this mod I thought looked interesting. It had some manually verified files but I didn't think much of it since I download mods like that all the time. I hit download and extracted the folder but before placing into the mod folder I got a warning message saying a threat has been identified. It came up as "Win32.LocalInfect.2". I've gotten warning messages like this before but my computer deleted them before they could finish downloading, however this time it downloaded onto my computer. I immediately deleted the file and it's extracted contents before running a virus scan and a full windows defender scan. Both came out clean and upon further inspection I noticed the mod was an exe file and the only one posted by the author so it was more like a failure in observation on my part. I'm a safe for now or is there still more I can do?
My current subscription is ending in a week or two. I purchased a new 1 year plan, and added the keycode under my user portal. My app installed on my laptop says it is still set to auto-renew. Is this going to end up charging me twice? Or is the new subscription going to take over once the current one expires?
Wondering if a virus disabled WebRoot from running. Yesterday Firefox said it needed to run an update and when I opened a new web page from a Search, I was warned it was a dangerous web site. I did NOT run the Firefox “update” and have not been reminded to run that “update”.Today, Windows warned me that no antivirus program is running. WebRoot is not showing in the system tray & it is NOT hidden. Task Manager, Startup tab: WebRoot is “enabled”.Go to Windows, Start, WebRoot Secure Anywhere to start the program, & nothing opens up.Restart computer & same.Control panel, Security & Maintenance, Virus Protection says “View in Windows Security”. Click on that & “Virus Threat & Protection Settings” says, “No action needed”. Shouldn’t it say something about WebRoot???
Just installed trial of Webroot Anywhere. I do daily online banking and money movements. I have been using an internet security system which has safe browser so Webroot looking different to me. I use Microsoft Edge Browser as dedicated browser and default and use virtual keyboard when banking.I have checked and see that Identitiy Shield is ON and Webroot threat shield is showing in the browser. Is that all I have to do please ?
After running System Analyzer, I received an orange screen with the message "updates are available for your system & have not been installed". I attempted to install updates but was informed that they were done automatically & I couldn’t manually update. After checking the community web, I was unable to find any reference to this plus any info on manual updates. No other recourse was found so I uninstalled Webroot & reinstalled it. I again ran System Analyzer & received the same message. I’ve had Webroot for years & never had this happen. I just did a Windows update. Could this be the trouble? How do I rectify this issue? The orange-red screen with the oversized explanation point looks ominous. Hopefully, the aforementioned screen will be pasted below. HELP!!!!….Bonnie
Win 10 Home 64 bit, MBAM Premium (WSA on trust list, and Ransomware real-time disabled). Shutdown every evening, and normally restart 4-times before browsing… I installed WSA late in the day, and somehow Auto Scan is scheduled for 7pm?I start browsing... much earlier, and would like to know my system is clean (without having to do a manual scan)! What time should I re-schedule my scan for?BTW- MBAM auto-scheduled their scan for 2am, so it scans 5min after cold startup.
