My last computer was destoyed when a window popped up mimicing a MS WINDOW and said a virus was attacking- needless to say my old computer was destroyed due to the damage. I once again received the same POP UP window but this time I shut down my computer. The only real difference in computer protection is this one has WEBROOT but Webroot DID NOT recognize this attack and did absolutely nothing to stop it so I shut down my computer immediately. Please help a damsel in distress. What can be done about averting these attacks in the future? Merci Beaucoup...
Hello again. Well, a few days ago Webroot popped up on our laptop saying it wasn't sure about a process. The options were "block" or "allow" and it would automatically block it in a minute or so. I wanted to search this process to see if it was okay but I never got the name because Webroot already blocked it. So, how can I find the process again?

I downloaded networkminer.exe from SourceForge and webroot appears to think it's a Threat of some kind. As far as I know it's just a tool for analyzing web traffic. It thinks the threat is Win32.LocalInfect.2, the googling of which only returns 6 results. I also downloaded a game some kids at the hackerspace wrote in http://scratch.mit.edu/ and it also detected it as a threat, something else Win32....
I have been going over all the features of Webroot, and digesting the information on how everything works. What has come to mine is this: If for whatever reason the cloud database is not available, how than does the offine shield protect my PC on threats??? Is it safe to go on the net due to the fact Webroot can't access the database to protect my PC? Are there sufficient files within Webroot to stop any malicious attacks??? What I find interesting is: do all the shield components rely on the database??? If they do and the cloud database is down, are we unprotected at that point??? Await your response and thanks in advance.:D
Well. I just discovered yesterday that our computer had tons of adware and malware. First, I came on and I saw 2 things: 1, a fake PC scanner program, and 2 something called 'Yontoo.' I did a quick search on Yontoo and found it was malicious. I asked my Dad if he installed anything, and he said Adobe popped up, saying he had to install the latest software. He believed it since it was Adobe, and his only options were 'OK.' I did a scan with Webroot and found no threats, but when I tried deleting Yontoo Webroot continuously popped up about security. Then I decided to turn off the computer and boot it into Safe Mode. I restored the computer to 05/10/13. As I left Safe Mode I discovered another adware program on our desktop about "Best FaceBook Messenger." I deleted that with no problems afterwards. I guess I never really noticed it, but when we opened Firefox it lead us to start.conduit.com, another malicious toolbar. I deleted it on Firefox and a 'Java Script' that I found wh

I need some help. I have the most up-to-date version of Webroot on my Mac (Safari as my browser) and this morning I noticed something odd with the Webroot Web Threat Shield. The shield reports that it is on, yet I don't see the "W' icon on my browser and no check marks or other icons appear on the side of links when I do a Google search. This makes me believe that Webroot is not analyzing links anymore! Also, I noticed (after a restart to my computer) that a prompt appears telling me that the "Safari Web Extension" needs to be installed. I click "Install" and nothing happens. Also there is still no "W" icon on my browser or icons after I do this. As a side note, usually I am able to right click on a link and be able to run the URL through the Webroot analyzer to check if the site is safe. I tried that on a few Google links this morning and that option no longer exists. Does anyone know what is going on and how I might be able to fix this sit
Webroot scan did not find malware. However I got a message from microsoft security essentials alert that my computer has adware, trojan and hack tool that should be removed. I suggest webroot users use "Microsfot Safety Scanner" to check for malware. Scanner is temporary. I have Windows 7 home
I called Webrrot a couple of days ago because my new keycode wasn't able to get activated. He told me my new one and it worked. Today, I went to check and see that it went back to the old keycode and I tried to activate it again and get a message saying, 'Error: FZLC0056: Invalid or Unknown Key Code." I should only have about 100 days left and it says that I have 224 days remaining. My original Key Code was *keycode removed by moderator* and that doesn't seem to work either, even if I enter it in like this *keycode removed by moderator* , it still won't activate.
Ok so i tried everything under the sun to delete this annoying program from my computer. It keeps prompting to renew the program everytime i log in my computer. I tried deleting it from control panel-add remove programs, but its not even on the list to uninstall it! Someone please help with this issue. Oh i have a Vaio laptop if that helps at all.
I used Prevx 3 on a spare PC, and recently it upgraded to WSA, without warning or asking me. I checked it out to make sure it was a ligit program, and decided to proceed to see what was up. I used Prevx 3 as a backup to my main AV, a secondary AV. I also use another firewall. My questions are these: Can I still use WSA as a backup to my main AV, or will it conflict with it? If I just disable the firewall and Realtime protection, will that work without conflicts, or are there other 'Shields' that I should also disable? Or, should I just remove WSA from my system. I am already quite satisfied with the AV and Firewall I am currently using, and don't need conflicting apps. Thanks.
Hi, when installing Webroot trial on my 10.8.3 ML I´m not able to install the Safari threat shield extention due to an error (error msg translated to english: not able to install due to an error). Have uninstalled WR and reinstalled - same result. In the market for a security sw and WR was promising, but if not solved I have to move on to another solution. PS. Is Safari the only supported browser on a Mac? Running Chrome and there is no shield icon in the browser. Pls advice.
I'm trying to recover from a system crash caused by malware. I've just installed WebRoot. Now I'm trying to install a piece of software called deepMesh, but every time I try WebRoot flags something called ext_maketext.exe and quarantines it. Does anyone have any idea what this maketext is? Is it really a virus or some other kind of malware?
Hi, My computer has gotten really slow in the last two days. Two weird things have taken place. 1. Wireless Network Connection in 'Network Connection' had disappeared. I had feared accidental deletion. Magically it appeared suddenly today. But even if I disable it using my hotkey( as I always do) the light at the front side stays on. And I've checked that it's really disabled. 2. The CPU is moving to 70, 65 and sometimes 82%. Very unusual. System Idle Process takes up 45, 52 and 58%. System takes up 22, 27, 35%(Very unusual). I've scanned with Hitman Pro for a second opinion. Nothing found. WSA is there of course. I suspect infection. What you guys think? What do I do? I want my pc to go back to it's regular state. I want it to be fast like before. System XP SP3 32 bit. Best Wishes, Amit
I have a program that won't run when Webroot is running. I get the Windows error: The application was unable to start correctly (0xc0000018). Click OK to close the application. After I shut down Webroot, it runs fine. Is there a way to make an exception for this program? I've been trying different things in Webroot but nothing seems to work. Thanks, Rand
