Checking a Windows drive on another computer
If I attach a Windows OS drive via USB probably to another computer and run SecureAnywhere on that computer is it going to do a complete check of the drive? In particular is it going to look into the registry, the boot sector and any other things other than files? If the answer is yes thats good. Is this true in general with other anti-virus software? This seems to be one of the best and most reliable ways to remove viruses.

Threat Removal Information
Hello... After I run a scan, when I select “View Status” (from r/h mouse menu on the Webroot tray icon), a notation appears, such as “Last scanned xx minutes ago. Next scan will occur when the system is idle. 1 threat has been removed.”

Does the threat removal information refer to the previous scan, or is it a cumulative result?
Where can I find more detail about what was removed?
Thanks...
I received an email stating that I need to upgrade Window Washer to Secure Anywhere Complete. I already have almost 2 years left on my Secure Anywhere Antivirus. If I upgrade to Complete, will I then have 2 accounts at Webroot that will have to be renewed ? Or can the upgrade be made a part of my existing account ?
Safari Web Extension Problems
I need some help. I have the most up-to-date version of Webroot on my Mac (Safari as my browser) and this morning I noticed something odd with the Webroot Web Threat Shield. The shield reports that it is on, yet I don't see the "W' icon on my browser and no check marks or other icons appear on the side of links when I do a Google search. This makes me believe that Webroot is not analyzing links anymore! Also, I noticed (after a restart to my computer) that a prompt appears telling me that the "Safari Web Extension" needs to be installed. I click "Install" and nothing happens. Also there is still no "W" icon on my browser or icons after I do this. As a side note, usually I am able to right click on a link and be able to run the URL through the Webroot analyzer to check if the site is safe. I tried that on a few Google links this morning and that option no longer exists. Does anyone know what is going on and how I might be able to fix this sit
Program Won't Run when Webroot is Running
I have a program that won't run when Webroot is running. I get the Windows error: The application was unable to start correctly (0xc0000018). Click OK to close the application. After I shut down Webroot, it runs fine. Is there a way to make an exception for this program? I've been trying different things in Webroot but nothing seems to work. Thanks, Rand
Prevx Upgraded to WSA
I used Prevx 3 on a spare PC, and recently it upgraded to WSA, without warning or asking me. I checked it out to make sure it was a ligit program, and decided to proceed to see what was up. I used Prevx 3 as a backup to my main AV, a secondary AV. I also use another firewall. My questions are these: Can I still use WSA as a backup to my main AV, or will it conflict with it? If I just disable the firewall and Realtime protection, will that work without conflicts, or are there other 'Shields' that I should also disable? Or, should I just remove WSA from my system. I am already quite satisfied with the AV and Firewall I am currently using, and don't need conflicting apps. Thanks.
Another false positive for W32.Malware.Gen - This time in xvid.dll, xvidcore.dll
Using 2013 version of the software. Today it flagged the xvid.dll and xvidcore.dll files in my Windows 7 system32 directory. The last modified dates for the dll's were from 2004, and this isn't the first time I've gotten false positives with SecvureAnywhere 2013, and at least one of the other incidents was also for the W32.Malware.Gen. In the past they were pretty much associated with downloaded executables, and I didn't mind deleting them, since they were usuyally older archived versions; but I wasn't about to delete any dll's without rechecking. A Webroot rescan picked up the same files. I then scanned the directory with Emsisoft's malware detector, and it found nothing. I'm becoming concerned about these false positives. Are others finding this happening repeatedly? ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [B] c:windowssystem32xvid.dll [MD5: 4581AC2AAD750548AC6B4AA6A06D1926] [Flags

Stuck on "scanning with webroot secureanywhere database" and can't cancel.
I did a manual scan and ended up with the following message "scanning with webroot secureanywhere database" for several minutes and could not cancel out of the scan. I ended up ending the WRSA.exe process and it started up by itself again and upon another manual scan completed withut a problem. Is this something I have to look forward to on occasion? I left Kaspersky because their AV got severly bloated and Webroot got high marks on several sites so I'd thought I'd give them a shot but this occurence has made me a bit nervous about it.
