Can webroot cause -- or allow -- an unwanted ocx8 file to be created in syswow64?
Occasionally an ocx8 file is created in syswow64 folder. When that happens a database program I use loses some functionality. I have to rename the unwanted ocx8 file and re-register the correct ocx8 file with the program that uses it. Support at the program I use says webroot may be causing this issue -- it only happens occasionally. Can webroot create files or somehow cause files to be created that I don’t need that mess up my database program’s functionality? I’ve used webroot for several years and this problem started a couple of years ago--only happens occasionally, however. I’m not really conversant in the inner workings of my computer--just need the programs to run without too much hassle. Thanks for any input.
Trojan Not Detected
A trojan has appeared on my computer and periodically opens up a sys32 box on my screen. Every time this happens, Webroot warns me that there is an active threat named “TrojanDownloader” and a scan is needed to remove it. However, every time I scan immediately after the warning, nothing is ever found and Webroot tells me everything is fine. I know this isn’t true because the trojan continuously opens the black box every hour or so, yet Webroot tells me everything is fine. How can I remove this trojan?
How does a six-minute Webroot scan complete in less than one minute?
I am not sure Webroot is truly working properly on my computer. I have already uninstalled and reinstalled it more than once and the same thing continues to occur. Using today as an example, this is what happens when I turn on my computer the first time in a given day (laptop running Windows 10):I pressed the power button. Then, I entered my Windows password. As soon as the desktop screen popped up, I opened the Webroot product window, which showed that less than five minutes earlier, a scan of 6 minutes and 24 seconds was completed and that the next scan will occur in 24 hours. How is this possible when the computer has only been turned on for less than two minutes? In the past, I noticed that when I hovered over the icon for Webroot right after turning on my computer (the one on the desktop page's taskbar, to the right of the arrow for the hidden icons), it would show it was scanning. More recently, I noticed this was no longer happening -- and, that when I open the product window, I

Whitelisting Network Folders
Is it possible to whitelist network folders to exclude files opened from those locations from scanning? It seems fairly straightforward in terms of implementation. But, I’m just fishing for any gotchas I may not be considering. Essentially, we have some engineers complaining about WRSA.exe slowing down Solidworks when they’re opening large files that live in a network share mounted with a drive letter.
Account may be listed under old email address, and I can't access
I have had a Webroot account for years, and I can no longer find my password. I have just purchased new computers and want to add them to my account and delete old computers. Plus, I suspect I may have multiple accounts linked to an old email address that we no longer use. How can I find out?

Running a Manual ScanKnowledge Base
Scans run automatically every day, at about the same time you installed SecureAnywhere. For example, if you installed SecureAnywhere at 8 p.m., it always launches a scan around 8 p.m. It will not disrupt your work, nor will it launch while you play games or watch a movie. During scans, SecureAnywhere searches all areas where potential threats can hide, including drives, files, and system memory. It looks for items that match our threat definitions, match descriptions in our community database, or exhibit suspicious behavior. If SecureAnywhere detects a threat, it moves the item to quarantine where it is rendered inoperable. In quarantine, it can no longer harm your system or steal personal data. If SecureAnywhere detects a potential threat, it opens an alert that prompts you to make a decision on whether you want to allow or block the item. If you aren't sure, we recommend that you block the item. For more information, see [url=https://community.webroot.com/t5/Webroot-SecureAnywhere-An

Identity Shield & Sandboxie
I posted this question on Wilders a short while ago but figured knowledge is power so here goes... Thus far, on my XP Pro SP3 system Webroot and Sandboxie seem to coexist very well. I am able to verify that the AV detects potential bad sites, and also detects and quarantines the Eicar test file download before the file is recovered via Sandboxie to the download folder. My question is whether Identity Shield is functional within a Firefox browser supervised by Sandboxie? (I do show the padlock.) I only ask because I haven't come across a recent or definitive answer. If they aren't compatible then I suppose it would make more sense to conduct financial transactions outside of a Sandboxie supervised browser. Any info appreciated and thanks in advance.
Password Protection Icons Missing in Updated SecureAnywhere
About 2 weeks ago I think, my Webroot SecureAnywhere Complete software updated itself. Before that, in IE, when I would log into a secure site, like a bank account, an 'X" would appear on the right side of the username box and a arc with a dot under it would appear in the password box when I started typing. Now, I see nothing.

I thought I read something about these being replaced by a W with a lock on it, but I have never seen this icon.

BTW, don't know about the rest of you, but I have had many problems with WSAC since the update. I think most of them have finally been resolved, but I can't seem to get an answer from Support about the missing icons.

Am I crazy? Did these not exist in the old version?

Thanks

Pam

P.S. Sorry if this is posted in the wrong place. I could not find anyway to create a new discussion.
Mac - Using the Web Threat Shield
To detect websites associated with potential threats, the Web Threat shield analyzes URLs (web addresses) as follows: [list] [*]When you enter the URL for a website or click a link to a site, SecureAnywhere runs the URL through its malware-identification engine. If the site is associated with malware, the Web Threat shield blocks the site from loading in your browser. [*]When you use a search engine, SecureAnywhere analyzes all links displayed on the search results page by running the URLs through its malware-identification engine. What zone are Outlook attachments in?
If I wanted to target .zip Outlook attachments, which zone are they in under heuristics? In my opinion, they should really have their own zone...
