Evangelised by webroot one opinion
Hi my beloved insomian, crazy geek guys and girls (Have girls here?). I dont have a thecnical cuestion only an opinion i am software tester from hispasoftware and social research as you know i am new on webroot and ok i am not habituated to the way if it works because i use another softwares who give too much pop ups: one for incoming conection, other for outcoming, other for trust app, other for not trust app, other for virus acces to hard drive, other for virus removal, other for virus can not access, other for say the product are update, other to say to buy the pro version and give a tshirt of the newyork yankees (Sarcasm). Webroot are very silencious, very passive, quietly, dont say me nothing, only it works well. I try diferent combos, and say names because to share my experience: Avast. Quihoo, Bitdefender, Bullguard, and one of my favorite ones lavasoft. I see a very slow down and i dont have a trash machine, I see a several conflicts, crashes, and i think somethings
I would have loved to known there were so many steps involved in getting any help/support to address my concerns with Webroot Secure Anywhere Complete before I purchased and Installed. Doesnt matter now, I have uninstalled and I am back to using S---Z---A AVM as I was before. I should have know better to switch, especially since I have had no virus/malware attacks while using my old program. I guess live and learn carries on!!! I hope all of you Webroot users have much better luck than I did. Take care.
Re: how can I download google chrome?
wrote: i am trying to download google chrome, but webroot keeps blocking it, can anyone help?
Hi! There is a chance you are downloading from an untrusted source. Go to the official Google Chrome Download page here and you should be able to download with no issues. Let us know if that does not take care of it.
I have this downloaded onto my laptop for virus protection while I'm in college. I took it to a hotel and the wifi was unprotected and I went to download a PDF and it downloaded a threat that won't leave no matter how many times I have it removed. Before it didn't allow any pop ups on my laptop and now I'm back to my college and it has the same threat and pop ups are now occurring and my it's load time is slow and it freezes. How do I fix this?!

MRG Effitas Online Banking Browser Security Assessment Project Q3 2013 – Q1 2014
Identity Shield protected IE, but failed with Firefox and Chrome. Link to the source code for these 2 is available in the report: https://www.mrg-effitas.com/current-tests/
Re: second computer
Hi Beaches Welcome to the Community Forums. Well, you can download a trial version of WSA which is good for 30 days and use that to do the scan or if you already have a license for WSA which coveres more than one device you could install WSA using the same keycode as your current installation. Identity Shield & Sandboxie
I posted this question on Wilders a short while ago but figured knowledge is power so here goes... Thus far, on my XP Pro SP3 system Webroot and Sandboxie seem to coexist very well. I am able to verify that the AV detects potential bad sites, and also detects and quarantines the Eicar test file download before the file is recovered via Sandboxie to the download folder. My question is whether Identity Shield is functional within a Firefox browser supervised by Sandboxie? (I do show the padlock.) I only ask because I haven't come across a recent or definitive answer. If they aren't compatible then I suppose it would make more sense to conduct financial transactions outside of a Sandboxie supervised browser. Any info appreciated and thanks in advance.
Password Protection Icons Missing in Updated SecureAnywhere
About 2 weeks ago I think, my Webroot SecureAnywhere Complete software updated itself. Before that, in IE, when I would log into a secure site, like a bank account, an 'X" would appear on the right side of the username box and a arc with a dot under it would appear in the password box when I started typing. Now, I see nothing.

I thought I read something about these being replaced by a W with a lock on it, but I have never seen this icon.

BTW, don't know about the rest of you, but I have had many problems with WSAC since the update. I think most of them have finally been resolved, but I can't seem to get an answer from Support about the missing icons.

Am I crazy? Did these not exist in the old version?

Thanks

Pam

P.S. Sorry if this is posted in the wrong place. I could not find anyway to create a new discussion.
The future of Anti Virus Technology???
I have a hypothetical question. As computer technology evolves and advances, what will anti virus technology look like in say 5,10, 20 years even? Take into consideration artifical intelligence, various types bio recongization tech, the vast processing speed, and memory capacity. The new malware threats. The emergence of new devices, everything will be made into a "smart" device our vehicles, home appliances, the common infra structure, etc. What will the new obstacles that we will face and how will ant-virus technololgy evolve to meet our needs?
Webroot and Hide My IP anonymous proxy surfing conflict?
Hello, We have been receiving receing reports from mutual users with Webroot Secure Anywhere installed that this product may be conflicting with our product, Hide My IP, an anonymous surfing product. This is the first we have heard of a possible conflict with a Webroot product in our 8 years of providing Hide My IP. For testing, Hide My IP may be downloaded here. During our tests, we were not able to find any compatibility issues. We would like to know if other Webroot users have reported conflicts with Hide My IP? Could it be it requires an LSP rule that the Webroot firewall is blocking? Is anyone else receiving any kind of false positive report regarding this issue? Thanks in advance My Privacy Tools Hide-My-IP.com
