since this new release installed itself, when Webroot scans, it stalls at 81% and hangs there for several minutes. this is in the process of accessing the webroot cloud for doing a scan. it just sits there, and finally after seven minutes or so, it finishes. this scan usually takes less than three minutes, but now it takes over ten minutes. nothing has changed on my end, except the new webroot version. thanks. note: if I run a second scan, it runs with no problem, I have a scan log, but don't see anyway to attache it.
Win7 Pro 64 bit Webroot 184.108.40.206 Question 1: BEFORE, Notepad it is flagged "Protect" it would be nice to understand why the default is "Deny". Is it really more dangerous compared to Word, Excel, Outlook, and Access? This comment was added after posting: I just saw the post about clipboard issues when Internet Explorer is running. I did not decte issues with clipbard as text could be copied to and from the four applications mentioned and Internet Explorer. Only Notepad was impacted and it was flagged Deny. Reason this question is being asked: One or two days after reinstalling Webroot the ability to paste into Notepad was lost; other tested applications were fine. (Even text copied from Notepad can't be pasted in Notepad.) Question 2: Since I don't want my passwords stolen KeePass was added and flagged "Protect". KeePass won't start. Remove the entry. KeePass works. Nothing in the explanation su
I recently replaced my laptop and installed Webroot SecureAnywhere Antivirus 2013 (along with installing all my other software). It seems to interfere with my external keyboard (but doesn't interefere with the Bluetooth mouse). I can type in my password for the computer at start-up and then one more keystroke. Thought it might be the Bluetooth keyboard, so I gave up and bought a USB keyboard. Same problem. After a lot of frustration trying to identify the source of the problem, I finally did a factory reset and reinstalled every piece of software individually with a restart and test of the keyboard at each step. Webroot blocks the keyboard. Is there a setting or something I can do on Webroot to allow an external keyboard (running Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit on Dell Inspiron i15R-1633sLV 15.6-Inch Laptop). Thanks!

I recently purchased a laptop and installed Webroot SecureAnywhere Antivirus 2013 (along with installing all my other software). It seems to interfere with my external keyboard (but doesn't interefere with the wireless mouse). I can type in my password for the computer at start-up and once the computer starts the Webroot blocks the signal. Before installing the Webroot software the laptop came with a Mcafee antivirus and I did not have any issues. I am frustrated with Webroot and if someone can help resolve the issue, I appreciate their help. Otherwise I will uninstall the software and get a new anti virus software. Webroot blocks the keyboard. Is there a setting or something I can do on Webroot to allow an external keyboard (running Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit on Dell Inspiron i15R-1632sLV 15.6-Inch Laptop).
I use Clipmate as my Windows Clipboard manager and it has a hotkey to pop it up to the foreground window. But with Identity Protection enabled, when I am using a "protected" app, the hotkey combination does not work and Clipmate does not popup. Is there a way to add this (or any program) to an exclusion/trusted list? I'm running Windows 8 x64. Thanks.
I use Chrome as my primary browswer, and I use "Alt-D" as my preferred keyboard shortcut for jumping to the address bar. Of late I have been noticing that sporadically when I hit "Alt-D" chrome will temporarily select the address bar, but then skip out of there and leave me with focus on the "Customise and Control Google Chrome" icon - the three horizontal bars to the right of the address bar. I have been tearing my hair out - it started happening on all three of my computers simultaneously - I only just realised it was webroot when I went looking for a problem that I was having with NumLock and TSRemoteApp (Application Presentation). As soon as I disabled Identity Shield the problem was resolved. I know that there are plenty of other shortcuts for the same task - Ctrl-L for instance, but when you have been doing something for years it becomes a habbit, I am having trouble training myself out of it! Would be nice if this could be fixed. For refe
Im trying to re-install webroot since im planning on buying from the sale that is going on, but I cannot uninstall my older version of it since I have forgotten my email and password from when I installd it a year ago. Is there anyone that knows how to get rid of the older version?
I've spent several frustrating hours tracking down a problem with an application not functioning correctly. Eventually I tried disabling Webroot, which solved the problem. The problem is similar to the clipboard issue described in this thread. I'm using an application (Linn Kinsky) that has a button to copy text to the clipboard. The copy operation was failing when any web browser was running, but was succeeding when no browser was running. As I nearly always have a browser open, the failure was occurring at least 99.9% of the time. After a very protracted and painful debugging process, I discovered that the Kinsky application had been marked as "Deny" in the Webroot Protected Applications section, with no notification to me that this had happened. This meant that my attempts to use this application to copy to the clipboard were failing, with no indication wh
Hi i installed Webroot on my son's computer and then installed net nanny. After a day or so; all access is blocked to the internet. If i uninstall net nanny access is restored. I have spoken with netnanny support and tried reinstalling with webroot disabled - however, the same issue keeps coming up. Net nanny support suggested i check with Webroot to see if this issue could be resolved. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
So I got a fake FedEx email with a link to a virus file. I downloaded it to a test machine and right clicked > Scan. It did not flag it as bad. I then submitted the file via the Webroot SecureAnywhere built-in reporting tool and to VirusTotal. A few minutes later, WSA automatically removed the offending file from the computer. Can someone at Webroot tell me what triggered the WSA cloud to finally change its determination on this file? Windows UAC prompted me to allow WSA to make changes to my machine. It then did an update. Now the WRSVC service is in a crash loop and Windows is flashing the "Check virus protection" alert every 10 seconds or so. I have not rebooted yet. Anyone else seeing this?
Hi, How can I set webroot to start scanning downloaded file automatically in Free Download Manager (FDM)? There is an option in FDM to set antivirus sotware to do this everytime a file is downloaded with FDM. But when I set the WRSA.exe (C:Program FilesWebrootWRSA.exe) in here, nothing happens. Webroot Secure Anywhere 220.127.116.11 Free Download Manager 3.9.2.build 1289 What am I missing here?
Webroot SecureAnywhere 18.104.22.168 Win 7 Pro 64bit Internet Explorer 64-bit (Now, I see, Identity and Privacy should have had no effect; making the situation stranger.) Had an issue after updating CamtasiaStudio (CS). Specifically, capturing an on-line webinar resulted in no video being recorded, other than the mouse cursor! This has been "resolved." Can someone explain what I did to resolve the CS issue? :D Here are the steps taken. It would also be nice to Under tab "Identity & Privacy" Link "view/Edit Protected Applications" Clicked "Add Application" Navigated to: C:Program Files (x86)TechSmithCamtasia Studio 8 Selected: CamtasiaStudio.exe Clicked "Open" The application was and is not listed and this action did not help. In the same manner the following application was also "added" CamRecorder.exe Once again the application is not listed but the issue was "resolved". **** What I want to do is
Hello, Apologies if this is the wrong place to post this enquiry. Could you please investigate www.yourhealthwidebay.org.au with a view to whitelisting it or removing the block it seems to have on it. Hi, At random times, I notice that the "Yellow Key" and "Right Clicking" stop working. Shutting down Webroot and restarting it gets rid of the problem until the next time it happens. As I said, the occurence is random, and I can't figure out what I'm doing on my end to cause the program to malfunction. Unfortunately, during these instances, the Webroot icon remains green, and I get no warning (or yellow flag) that the program is not working properly. The only indication I get that a problem has occurred is the gold key is missing from the "W" icon when I go on any website. Fortunately, during this time, the antivirus parts of the program are still working; I checked with EICAR test virus (the file is deleted, without any pop up messages appearing on-screen or any follow-up scan taking place). Any thoughts on what may be causing this will be appreciated. I have the latest version of WSA installed (Win 7 - 64 bit) Thanks for you help,
Hi All, I recently installed webroot anti-virus on a windows XP SP3 machine. During the installation the program found an infection in SHDOCVW.DLL and (I assume) quarantined the file, as a result of which I can no longer start explorer.exe, so my taskbar, desktop etc are missing. I don't have the windows XP disk unfortuntately to recover a clean file and windows restore wasn't turned on at the time. Without explorer I also can't open the webroot console to restore the file from quarantine. I can run files from task manager, including webroot, but can't open the actual console. Could anyone please suggest how to either open the console or to remove the file from quarantine otherwise? Thank you all in advance. A.
Hi there, I'm new here, and you must excuse me for not having written a short introduction on the introduction forum; I am not spending time at message boards, and simply have a question to ask: As the subject line says, I've tried doing a custom scan (under "PC Security" tab), and it simply doesn't run. The window says "0 files scanned" and "Processes: Not scanned", even after an hour. It doesn't matter which options I choose under the custom scan. But the normal and easily accessible scan under the "Overview" tab works. I would like to be able to perform a custom deep scan, and of course the fact that it doesn't work worries me. I have had the program installed for five months. I don't remember whether I have tried a custom scan after I upgraded the program. Also I have AVG Free installed. Also I haven't been aware of any obvious threat to my machine, and both programs say I am protected. I am using Windows 7 Ultimate on an Asus U31J,
I have a windows XP SP3 machine here. WSA AV stops the *keys macro in PowerPro from working. With PP there are 3 modes to the *keys macro. One mode uses Sendinput, one uses global journal hooks, and one uses keybd_input. WSA AV prevents all three from working. Wait, I'm lying a little bit. It's only in browsers that *keys won't work with WSA AV running. FF and IE8 anyway. It doesn't matter what field - address bar, tool bar or field on the web page. It will work in editor windows for example. I've switched WSA AV to the learning mode, but no chance to allow the action of PowerPro is provided. Is there some way to get at the rule or whatever it is that is causing WSA AV to block PowerPro and change it?
My brother got his computer serviced @ Best Buy (BB) to get rid of the Smart HDD malware and he had them install Webroot SA Antivirus because of it's low resource usage. I noticed that the key code had some Best Buy references (I think) , and the paper insert in the CD case has a subsection for Best Buy within the main Webroot website for product downloads. Questions: 1. My brother has a 3 user, 3 year licensing Webroot SA AV version from BB, so does he need to use the CD version / download from the BB subsection of your website, or can he just use the normal "wsainstall.exe" to install on his other machines? 2. Can he create a My Webroot account online for himself and register his keycode? 3. How does he handle renewals - through Best Buy or Webroot? 4. I just recently became a Webroot fan and have installed WebRoot SA Complete. Since I am the family tech support guy, can I put his keycode as a separate console on my own My Webroot account at the same time that he
