I recently replaced my laptop and installed Webroot SecureAnywhere Antivirus 2013 (along with installing all my other software). It seems to interfere with my external keyboard (but doesn't interefere with the Bluetooth mouse). I can type in my password for the computer at start-up and then one more keystroke. Thought it might be the Bluetooth keyboard, so I gave up and bought a USB keyboard. Same problem. After a lot of frustration trying to identify the source of the problem, I finally did a factory reset and reinstalled every piece of software individually with a restart and test of the keyboard at each step. Webroot blocks the keyboard. Is there a setting or something I can do on Webroot to allow an external keyboard (running Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit on Dell Inspiron i15R-1633sLV 15.6-Inch Laptop). Thanks!
I have recently come across a problem with my browser applications (I.E., Chrome) that I managed to track down to a particular shield in SecureAnywhere. This happened on two computers that I have it on, started at the same time. When I open a browser (I use both IE and Chrome, same happens in both), when I begin entering text in a field, it will leave out the first character. This only happens the FIRST time I type into a browser session. As in, if I wanted to type google.com into the address bar it would come out as oogle.com, only the first time. After that it's fine. If I close the browser and restart it, it will drop only the first character again. Both computers have SecureAnywhere on them, so I started with that as the common denominator. If I go into the Identity and Privacy tab, and into Identity Shield, and into view / edit protected applications and check "allow" instead of Protect, the browser will work fine. Is anyone aware of a way to actually fix this instead of
I just installed SecureAnywhere (Plus, I think, not sure) on the desktop, and before installing it on two laptops, I could use some help. What happened in installation was first turning off Avast! for 10 minutes, then beginning the SA installation. As the time approached 10 minutes, I figured I don't want the two AVs clash so I uninstalled Avast! It required rebooting and as SA already installed, I thought it would be OK to do that. The computer (64-bit Windows 7) crashed, but I was able to boot again normally. Question: for the other installations, should I leave Avast! in operation and uninstall later, or...? Thanks in advance.
Hi. I'm not sure if this is the correct forum to ask this since I'm new. Yesterday, I downloaded a game and I can't seem to launch it. I researched about some solutions, and one told me to add this game to exceptions or a whitelist. I don't know how to do that, so what I did was deactivate the firewall and most of the antivirus functions. My Webroot has expired, and it is version 18.104.22.168. My main question is: How can I add this game to exceptions, so it doesn't block it and I can play? Thanks.
Hi, When I run a "Full Scan" my computer inevitably crashes. I get a blue screen, lots of words, stuff about tables and file dumps. Then I turn off my computer and when I restart I have the option screen about Safe Mode, Normal Mode, etc. Any ideas/solutions to having my computer not crash when running "Full Scan?" It does not happen with any other type of scan. Thanks in Advance! Eric
I was locked out of my AOL account yesterday morning. AOL Tech did not know, as of yesterday, what the cause was. Apparently, there were a lot of AOL users who were affected. AOL Tech cured the problem yesterday. However, the same thing occurred today. I called AOL Tech and advised them the problem had recurred. The first thing AOL Tech asked was: "Do you use Webroot internet security." I responded that I did. They said, "that's the cause." They directed me to a part of the Webroot Secure Anywhere site where I clicked on the "Identity & Privacy" tab and then the "View/Edit Protected Applications" link, and there, I had to "allow" the AOL.exe link. Problem solved. So, why is Webroot blocking AOL?
Question
Copy and paste is not working properly and my numlock seems to be stuck on or off.
Answer
Anything strange going on with cut, copy, and paste or character entry is almost invariably going to be caused by a related program being blocked by the Identity Shield. A support ticket is the long term solution that helps everybody who uses the program, since support can potentially fix the problem globally for everyone at once. So if you want to be a hero, put in a support ticket. Other people with the same problem will thank you for it. The quick fix for this kind of case is to head to the Identity & Privacy tab in the program, click the text "View/Edit Protected Applications," and check on the following items: 1. If the programs that are having problems are listed as "Deny", change them to "Allow." This is normal for an u
I originally had Webroot on my Win7 PC and upgraded to win8 over the weekend. I have tried to remove webroot from my PC by uninstalling through 'Programs and features' It seem to do this (there is now no webroot entry on the list). But when I re-stated my PC webroot came back. I can't un-install it as there is no entry in 'Programs and features'. I can't re-install it as I can't find the orignal CD. How do I remove this product?
When downloading some programs they ask you to temporarily shut off the antivirus program. I had no problem when I used AVG...what I used for the past 3 years. I cannot figure it out for webroot. I blew it with the last program I downloaded; because my husband kept bugging me to download it I just did it WITHOUT DISENGAGING THE VIRUS PROTECTION. Did I ruin the program? Will upgrading the program fix it if I did or is it completely shot? I CANNOT believe I did it, but that is what happens when someone keeps bugging you to do things when you are writhing in pain and hopped up on pain pills. Help please help. Thanks grettat
I just bought SecureAnywhere Antivirus and so far I've been happy about it. Seems to be extremely low on resource usage which is great. However, I have few questions. I use Comodo firewall and I'd rather only keep one firewall on so I disabled the webroot firewall and now it whines about it. Is there a way to disable that? Also that system event tracker/counter is annoying. It offers nothing to user and is useless information. Is there a way to disable that counter? I'd rather use CPU cycles for something else. Then the final question, is there a way to disable this from right click menu without touching the registry editor though the webroot interface? Thanks.
Shoud I turn off Comodo defense, etc?I don't know the compatability with comodo firewall/antivirus/defense,etcI have Webroot secure anywhere 2012 Antivirus installed alongside Comodo internet security 2012 along with Hitman Pro 3.7.I recently had my system brought to its knees by virus infection and had to use comodo rescue disc to eliminate the threat and use system repair disk to be able to boot again.I want as much protection as I can get.
I ran MSE with Webroot since last year, in fact was advised by pop-up that there is no conflict about firewalls, just another layer added. But I find that MSE has nailed a couple serious trojans, possibly missed by Webroot. Should I be worried that Webroot isn't doing its job? Just wondering, bookburn
Hi I have a valid webroot antivirus version that I have installed without a problem last year. However, when I have tried to reinstall webroot today it couldn't go past error Could not write value id to key SOFTWAREWebrootInstall. Verify that you have sufficient access to that key or contact your support personnel. Does anyone have any solutions to this problem? I've checked my key registry files and I still got Webroot Spysweeper folder in there even tho it is uninstalled everywhere else. Could this be causing problems? I run windows 7 Thank you very much for any help!
