I have a windows XP SP3 machine here. WSA AV stops the *keys macro in PowerPro from working. With PP there are 3 modes to the *keys macro. One mode uses Sendinput, one uses global journal hooks, and one uses keybd_input. WSA AV prevents all three from working. Wait, I'm lying a little bit. It's only in browsers that *keys won't work with WSA AV running. FF and IE8 anyway. It doesn't matter what field - address bar, tool bar or field on the web page. It will work in editor windows for example. I've switched WSA AV to the learning mode, but no chance to allow the action of PowerPro is provided. Is there some way to get at the rule or whatever it is that is causing WSA AV to block PowerPro and change it?
My brother got his computer serviced @ Best Buy (BB) to get rid of the Smart HDD malware and he had them install Webroot SA Antivirus because of it's low resource usage. I noticed that the key code had some Best Buy references (I think) , and the paper insert in the CD case has a subsection for Best Buy within the main Webroot website for product downloads. Questions: 1. My brother has a 3 user, 3 year licensing Webroot SA AV version from BB, so does he need to use the CD version / download from the BB subsection of your website, or can he just use the normal "wsainstall.exe" to install on his other machines? 2. Can he create a My Webroot account online for himself and register his keycode? 3. How does he handle renewals - through Best Buy or Webroot? 4. I just recently became a Webroot fan and have installed WebRoot SA Complete. Since I am the family tech support guy, can I put his keycode as a separate console on my own My Webroot account at the same time that he
Loving Webroot! Have a question. When I purchased I was told by the BB guy that I could cover three computers. I had no need at the time. Now with two kids with their own laptops I wuld like to add Webroot. However, when I try to download to their machine I get a message to enter a valid keycode. I know my keycode is good, because I just used it to set up an account to monitor everyone. Halp!
What I'd like to know is, do the users of a multi-license version have to live in the same household? I'd like to get the multi-license version and give one license to my mom and use one myself. Thing is though, we live in different households. (same city though). I know Symantec is very strongly opposed to people using multi-license versions of Norton in multiple locations, however Kaspersky is fine with it. After using the trial for the latest Webroot offerings I would much prefer to get this over Kaspersky, as the big K is such a nasty system resource hog.
I have recently come across a problem with my browser applications (I.E., Chrome) that I managed to track down to a particular shield in SecureAnywhere. This happened on two computers that I have it on, started at the same time. When I open a browser (I use both IE and Chrome, same happens in both), when I begin entering text in a field, it will leave out the first character. This only happens the FIRST time I type into a browser session. As in, if I wanted to type google.com into the address bar it would come out as oogle.com, only the first time. After that it's fine. If I close the browser and restart it, it will drop only the first character again. Both computers have SecureAnywhere on them, so I started with that as the common denominator. If I go into the Identity and Privacy tab, and into Identity Shield, and into view / edit protected applications and check "allow" instead of Protect, the browser will work fine. Is anyone aware of a way to actually fix this instead of
I reinstalled WSA (latest download) on both workstation and laptop. But none of them appear on the webroot online control panel. As I don't want to reinstall from the computer icon on the control panel (i.e. with reconfiguring everything again), how can I make them appear again ?? Thanks
Hello, What is the reason of the poor result from Webroot at AV-Comparatives this year? Do I have to worry of not been protected properly? http://www.av-comparatives.org/images/docs/avc_sum_201212_en.pdf
I purchased a one-year subscription to the AV, using Windows 7 operating system. Everything went well. Then I noticed in the GUI that the Webroot firewall was on and activated. Then I went to Security Center and saw that Windows 7 firewall was on, so I deactivated it. Then the Security Center flagged this, saying that there was no active firewall. Just wondering what's going on. Either I don't have a firewall with Webroot AV, or the firewall is not being recognized. Should I reactivate the Windows 7 firewall?
Hoping I can explain correctly. Yesterday I was prompted to perform a 'Clean Up' on my Laptop. When completed, I tried to log onto Facebook and found the sign on page to be scrambled. Went to my email account (Hotmail) only to find once logged in, I an also unable to access my inbox. After that, checked with Webroot account, to find it also is compromised. The page itself is no longer with normal 'pictures', but everything is page left. When I click on any link, nothing happens. Today I found when attempting Pintrest, the person I was trying to 'follow' ended up being reported as a spam! This is all happening with Firefox, the browser I used when downloading Webroot over the weekend. I have signed on with IE, and have no problems. But. The issue remains with Webroot account. I truly do not wish to use IE. What could have caused this? I uninstalled Firefox twice, no change. Thanks for taking your time in reading and hopefully finding a solution for my problem.

Hi. I have a 3 PC license for Secure Anywhere that expires in March 2013. We just purchased a new computer today that has Windows 8. When we tried to download one of the PC licenses of Secure Anywhere we are getting an incompatible error message and Webroot will not install. Do we need to uninstall the MacAfee that is currently on the new computer - will this help? Is the license that we purchased on compatible with Windows 8 and therefore will not work? Is there an easy way for a non-computer geek to install this software? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Rose
Hi Everyone, My Secure Anywhere was working just fine untill I upgraded to Windows 8; now, when I enter the product key code, it says to enter in a valid key code. It's the same one I used to first intall it 6 months ago and it's the same laptop. Any clues to what's happening? Thanks.

HI, I am a new member and just put SecureAnywhere on my PC. It is a Dell computer with Windows XP Home Edition. I am using Firefox as my search engine. Right after I installed the program on my computer I noticed that many times (but not all times) my keyboard would not function properly when chatting on Facebook. I have also noticed the same problem when trying to send email messages. The letters start to become capital letters and the puncutation keys don't work properly either. Any ideas? Thank you. I look forward to your replies. BTW I am not very computer literate so you will need to be very basic in your explanations. SMILe
I was having problems with my Bitdefender and their support gave me instructions to uninstall Webroot saying that they use some of the same processes. What should I do?The Bitdefender firewall would just shutoff every once in awhile for appearently no reason. What I did for right now is install Comodo Internet secuity pro 2013 because I never had a problem with thier firewall. If anything I would have to switch to windows firewall temporarily to allow certain things to download or do updates.I can not see uninstalling Webroot for Bitdefender.Since Webroot is better at Malware blocking and detection also I believe Comodo has a very high Malware blocking score also.
It's telling me I can't activate my code to install the newest version it says to check my internet connection to make sure secureanywhere can connect.....I checked my firewall settings and it gives me the option of webroot but when i try to allow through firewall it says it cant......I'm running windows vista any suggestions?
Shoud I turn off Comodo defense, etc?I don't know the compatability with comodo firewall/antivirus/defense,etcI have Webroot secure anywhere 2012 Antivirus installed alongside Comodo internet security 2012 along with Hitman Pro 3.7.I recently had my system brought to its knees by virus infection and had to use comodo rescue disc to eliminate the threat and use system repair disk to be able to boot again.I want as much protection as I can get.
