Hi everyone, I have Webroot Secure Anywhere. I also use Endicia Dazzle postage program for my business. They recently had an upgrade to their software, and as soon as I upgraded, I could no longer paste addresses into the program. As in, right clicking an address and then trying to right click and paste or Ctrl-V into the program wouldn't work. After about a week of back and forth with support, they finally asked me if I had Webroot. I was kind of surprised, but I said I did. They asked me to shut it down and try to paste. Paste was working again!! They said they didn't know what the fix was, but they were trying to work on it. So I have to shut down Webroot to use this program. I noticed I started having the same problem after installation with another program, but I never associated it with Webroot. So I tried this same fix, and sure enough, paste started to work in that program as well after Webroot was shut down. So I have to shut down Webroot when working in THAT pro
Any plans on adding other localizations to Webroot products, for example Hungarian? I'm a native Hungarian speaker and could help translating to Hungarian (did a number of translations in the past, see here: My translations )
It's telling me I can't activate my code to install the newest version it says to check my internet connection to make sure secureanywhere can connect.....I checked my firewall settings and it gives me the option of webroot but when i try to allow through firewall it says it cant......I'm running windows vista any suggestions?
This morning, Webroot Secureanywhere did not start. OnlineArmor asked if I wanted to allow a program with a name similar to "WRupdate347369.exe" to execute out of the temp folder. It identified itself as a Webroot program but the numbers seemed strange and executing out of the temp folder concerned me. I NEEDED to log in for a webinar so execution was blocked and Secureanywhere had to be manually started. The executable did not appear again. Was this a legitimate WR update? If so, how can it be verified before allowing it to execute? (Comment: It has been advised by other applications (JAVA & Adobe are the most notorious) not to allow automatic updates to execute but rather go to the website and get the update directly.)
Okay so I love this antivirus, my job is selling computers and I am always recommending webroot, but, there is this webroot icon that appears on my desktop every time i turn my computer on. I drag it to the recycling bin and then next time I reboot it's right back up there again. I need to have my desktop organized and clutter free so I need this dang thing off of there. I have the little icon down in the lower right hand corner of my taskbar. So why the big bulky icon? I cannot seem to find any option in the settings to rid myself of it nor can I find the answer to this on google. HELP!! :/
NOD32 and OA are being replaced with Norton 360 Premier. What is the proper method to install Norton on a Win7x64 system? (Added: Norton is not being placed on my system, I regretted doing so over a decade ago and additional research showed I would regret it again. Currently, only Webroot Secureanywhere Antivirus is installed.) Webroot can be initially disabled but a reboot caused an upgrade of ESET to go really, really, bad. I would like to avoid this problem on the Win7 system. The community is being asked because supports final answer was; "the Webroot software you own from us is a full antivirus suite meaning that is all you need, so you do not need to antivirus applications." (edited to indicate change of mind)
Hi, By chance, I've just noticed a strange file which has been allowed firewall access in my Network Applicaions list in Secure Anywhere (126.96.36.199). It's called sd7sfnzj.exe.part, which was apparently in my %TEMP% folder. This looks suspiciously like malware to me. I realise that .part files are Firefox download files, but I don't normally used Firefox's own download manager, and I wouldn't expect it to be executing .part files anyway. The file is no longer present, and I can't find any reference to it if I save and examine a scan log. I've run a few checks with various AV tools, none of which reported anything. Webroot did block a couple of websites yesterday when I searched for thunderbird in Google - it was complaining about some sites at rediff.com. Could this be the source of the trouble? Can you shed any light on why there is seemingly no log of this .part file having been examined by Webroot, but it is an allowed network application? Does this mean that it was blocked
Chrome, on our our home computer, has been subverted by a browser hijacker that allways directs it to secure.conduit. It is quite annoying that the browser immediately goes to bing. It cannot be removed using the Chrome search engine option though I did delete some browsers I didn't want. Does/Could SecureAnywhere deal with this and if so how?
How about 24/7 live tech support? This company is going to grow like wildfire, so we should put 24/7 live tech support in place. So far, I have found live tech support to be very helpful, although is seems like things are happening so quickly with this product that it's a learning process for everyone, including the tech reps.
How do I transfer an existing license to a new PC (I assume for WEBRoot SecureAnywher AV - since there's nothing else listed in the product name thats installed on the PC) ? I'm helping a friend who's laptop has sort of died (the screen failed; I'm using a monitor to work on it). She has a new laptop to which I am transferring info. I've not previously used WEBRoot and have not been successful in finding any instructions on how to install WEBRoot on the new laptop without having to purchase a separate license. Even some process to get a free temporary license would be good. Finally, I assume the license she has is for only one PC, but I can't figure that out either. Jim
I am using Webroot SecureAnywhere Essentials software and it is preventing me from visiting Filehippo.com. This site is extremely reputable and has been known for years upon years. I also use Filehippos update checker and your software is preventing it from loading the Filehippo site. www.filehippo.com
Webroot just automatically renewed a 3 PC license taking the money directly from my bank account. The problem with that is I looked everywhere on my account for an option to stop automatic renewal , and I see no such option in mywebroot account login area. I did not have money to cover this, and my account has now been over drawn due to this. How do I stop anymore auto renewals from happening? How can I get the money returned to my bank account? Why is there no obvious way to stop automatic renewals? I have no PC to use this license on.
Hi, one of your customers told me that our website, http://www.sur-la-toile.com was blocked by Webroot® SecureAnywhere. It is a french portal about science and technology, with a blog and a forum. About 2M visitors monthly. Can you please tell us where the problem comes from, if there is a real security issue we can fix, or check if it might be a false positive ? Thanks a lot. Benoit Fries
After an un-attended scan, ver# 188.8.131.52 on Windows XP Pro SP3, detected "c:program fileswinrarwinrar v3.41 final trial to full by great elmo!!.exe" and a subsequent scan found "c:windowssystem32cmdlineext03.dll". First file was cleaned but the second I searched and suspect this may be a false positive. I removed the winrar exe positive as I never use it anyway, but still suspect a false positive. Malwarebytes and AVG have not tugged at these files ever. Just finished scans with these other two protectors came up clean, zero infections or malware. Any conformation or clarification is appreciated.
Have had webroot secureanywhere running with mcaffe security center v11 for months w/o problems. I let them update when the need arises. I have had both scan the system including other independent products and no virus or trojans id'd. Some pups but of the general nature ones. Nothing worse when you are in the middle of something and the screen starts freezing. Updated the video drivers and it seemed to eliminate the issue but returned aparadically. Stated IE without addons but didn't solve the freeze. Then decided to shutdown SecureAnyWhere and have not yet had the type of freeze (other than perhaps some impatience) previously experienced.. Don't like the idea of having the product shutdown since i'm a paid subscriber but something is going on that is causing a significant conflict and eventual screen freeze and it appears related to secureanywhere.
I have a game that has an error(specifically, certain game models turning invisible) while SecureAnywhere is on. The problem stops happening if I click "Suspend" next to "Protection has been active for X Months, X Days, X Time." Is there any way to prevent Webroot from messing with it so I don't have to turn off my protection while playing?
Hi i installed Webroot on my son's computer and then installed net nanny. After a day or so; all access is blocked to the internet. If i uninstall net nanny access is restored. I have spoken with netnanny support and tried reinstalling with webroot disabled - however, the same issue keeps coming up. Net nanny support suggested i check with Webroot to see if this issue could be resolved. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
Hi all, First post in this forum, firstly I would like to start by saying that IMHO WSA is in the top tier of security solutions right now, keep it up guys. Ok secondly...I am having a reoccurring issue with the ID shield, After the 184.108.40.206 update I had a corrupted install so reinstalled WSA and noticed no padlock, after visiting this forum and following a couple of similar threads I installed and ran the Zemana keylogger test which I failed. I noticed the ID shield settings where all turned off (from a fresh install), I tried to turn settings up but they wouldn't stick, I resolved this by resetting to defaults then turning all settings up to Max... result visible padlock and Zemana pass :D all's well until I noticed a few days later no padlock, I retested with Zemana and failed, so reset to default and cranked settings up, again padlock returned and passed Zemena. Ok this is where issue becomes a problem, now I have no padlock and consistently failing the Zemana test, I have tried re
