Can't uninstall Webroot from win8 PC
I originally had Webroot on my Win7 PC and upgraded to win8 over the weekend. I have tried to remove webroot from my PC by uninstalling through 'Programs and features' It seem to do this (there is now no webroot entry on the list). But when I re-stated my PC webroot came back. I can't un-install it as there is no entry in 'Programs and features'. I can't re-install it as I can't find the orignal CD. How do I remove this product?
I just bought SecureAnywhere Antivirus and so far I've been happy about it. Seems to be extremely low on resource usage which is great. However, I have few questions. I use Comodo firewall and I'd rather only keep one firewall on so I disabled the webroot firewall and now it whines about it. Is there a way to disable that? Also that system event tracker/counter is annoying. It offers nothing to user and is useless information. Is there a way to disable that counter? I'd rather use CPU cycles for something else. Then the final question, is there a way to disable this from right click menu without touching the registry editor though the webroot interface? Webroot Complete and Microsoft Security Essentials question
I ran MSE with Webroot since last year, in fact was advised by pop-up that there is no conflict about firewalls, just another layer added. But I find that MSE has nailed a couple serious trojans, possibly missed by Webroot. Should I be worried that Webroot isn't doing its job? Just wondering, bookburn
Error message when installing webroot
Hi I have a valid webroot antivirus version that I have installed without a problem last year. However, when I have tried to reinstall webroot today it couldn't go past error Could not write value id to key SOFTWAREWebrootInstall. Verify that you have sufficient access to that key or contact your support personnel. Does anyone have any solutions to this problem? I've checked my key registry files and I still got Webroot Spysweeper folder in there even tho it is uninstalled everywhere else. Could this be causing problems? I run windows 7 Thank you very much for any help!

Num lock and paste problems with Webroot
Hi everyone, I have Webroot Secure Anywhere. I also use Endicia Dazzle postage program for my business. They recently had an upgrade to their software, and as soon as I upgraded, I could no longer paste addresses into the program. As in, right clicking an address and then trying to right click and paste or Ctrl-V into the program wouldn't work. After about a week of back and forth with support, they finally asked me if I had Webroot. I was kind of surprised, but I said I did. They asked me to shut it down and try to paste. Paste was working again!! They said they didn't know what the fix was, but they were trying to work on it. So I have to shut down Webroot to use this program. I noticed I started having the same problem after installation with another program, but I never associated it with Webroot. So I tried this same fix, and sure enough, paste started to work in that program as well after Webroot was shut down. So I have to shut down Webroot when working in THAT pro

Someone has hacked my email - any help from Webroot or anything else?
Someone has hacked my email account from my own domain. I process all outgoing and incoming emails with Outlook 2007. Since I don't understand how they can be sending emails from my personal email address, I'm not sure how to solve the problem. Is there any help from Webroot on eliminating this?... or help from anything else?
Webroot SecureAnywhere Console
Hello I am having trouble adding my computers to my webroot SecureAnywhere console online. I tried to use a direct link from my computer that says go to web console but when I tried to do that it said that my key had already been activated. So I tried to delete my computers from the console to see if that would allow it to be added from my computer. That did not happen now the computers won't show up at all. What do I do? I think I might have registered online with a different email address than my computer one but I can't remember. Is there a way to delete a key from the online console so that I can readd my computers?
IE 8 keeps hanging up and freezing on Windows XP SP3
Have had webroot secureanywhere running with mcaffe security center v11 for months w/o problems. I let them update when the need arises. I have had both scan the system including other independent products and no virus or trojans id'd. Some pups but of the general nature ones. Nothing worse when you are in the middle of something and the screen starts freezing. Updated the video drivers and it seemed to eliminate the issue but returned aparadically. Stated IE without addons but didn't solve the freeze. Then decided to shutdown SecureAnyWhere and have not yet had the type of freeze (other than perhaps some impatience) previously experienced.. Don't like the idea of having the product shutdown since i'm a paid subscriber but something is going on that is causing a significant conflict and eventual screen freeze and it appears related to secureanywhere.
green check mark in search engine
When I use a search engine Google or Bing in IE9 the results have a green check mark or sometimes a red X in front of them. IE is my default browser, but I use Chrome most all of the time as my main browser unless for some reason I need to use IE. The green check marks don't appear in the search engines when using Chrome, only when using IE9. I have WOT installed on both browsers. In IE9 using either search engine Google or Bing, the search results have a green check mark, the WOT circle, the body of the result, then another WOT circle. If I click on the check mark it opens the Webroot home page. If I click on the WOT circle next to the check mark it gives a WOT rating of Webroot's home page. The WOT mark at the end of the result gives the info on the actual site. Sorry to be so long winded, but my question is; Where do these check marks come from? Is this normal in IE searches. I've done Google and Bing searches and haven't been able to find an answer that seemed
Any other localizations?
Any plans on adding other localizations to Webroot products, for example Hungarian? I'm a native Hungarian speaker and could help translating to Hungarian (did a number of translations in the past, see here: My translations )
WRupdate347369.exe Fake or Legitimate update?
This morning, Webroot Secureanywhere did not start. OnlineArmor asked if I wanted to allow a program with a name similar to "WRupdate347369.exe" to execute out of the temp folder. It identified itself as a Webroot program but the numbers seemed strange and executing out of the temp folder concerned me. I NEEDED to log in for a webinar so execution was blocked and Secureanywhere had to be manually started. The executable did not appear again. Was this a legitimate WR update? If so, how can it be verified before allowing it to execute? (Comment: It has been advised by other applications (JAVA & Adobe are the most notorious) not to allow automatic updates to execute but rather go to the website and get the update directly.)
This is driving me crazy... Help?
Okay so I love this antivirus, my job is selling computers and I am always recommending webroot, but, there is this webroot icon that appears on my desktop every time i turn my computer on. I drag it to the recycling bin and then next time I reboot it's right back up there again. I need to have my desktop organized and clutter free so I need this dang thing off of there. I have the little icon down in the lower right hand corner of my taskbar. So why the big bulky icon? I cannot seem to find any option in the settings to rid myself of it nor can I find the answer to this on google. HELP!! :/
What is proper method of installing Norton 360 Premier with SecureAnywhere already installed.
NOD32 and OA are being replaced with Norton 360 Premier. What is the proper method to install Norton on a Win7x64 system? (Added: Norton is not being placed on my system, I regretted doing so over a decade ago and additional research showed I would regret it again. Currently, only Webroot Secureanywhere Antivirus is installed.) Webroot can be initially disabled but a reboot caused an upgrade of ESET to go really, really, bad. I would like to avoid this problem on the Win7 system. The community is being asked because supports final answer was; "the Webroot software you own from us is a full antivirus suite meaning that is all you need, so you do not need to antivirus applications." (edited to indicate change of mind)
Strange .exe.part file listed in Network Applications but not in logs
Hi, By chance, I've just noticed a strange file which has been allowed firewall access in my Network Applicaions list in Secure Anywhere (18.104.22.168). It's called sd7sfnzj.exe.part, which was apparently in my %TEMP% folder. This looks suspiciously like malware to me. I realise that .part files are Firefox download files, but I don't normally used Firefox's own download manager, and I wouldn't expect it to be executing .part files anyway. The file is no longer present, and I can't find any reference to it if I save and examine a scan log. I've run a few checks with various AV tools, none of which reported anything. Webroot did block a couple of websites yesterday when I searched for thunderbird in Google - it was complaining about some sites at rediff.com. Could this be the source of the trouble? Can you shed any light on why there is seemingly no log of this .part file having been examined by Webroot, but it is an allowed network application? Does this mean that it was blocked
WebShield blocking Filehippo, why?
I am using Webroot SecureAnywhere Essentials software and it is preventing me from visiting Filehippo.com. This site is extremely reputable and has been known for years upon years. I also use Filehippos update checker and your software is preventing it from loading the Filehippo site. www.filehippo.com
