Hi,I need to exclude a directory under the user’s home directory on a drive containing all user home directories. The folder in question is a cache folder for an application, and the Real Time scanning slows it down terribly. For example: 'thisfolder’c:\home_folders\joe\thisfolderc:\home_folders\bill\thisfolderc:\home_folders\steve\thisfolder So I'm looking for a pattern maybe like: c:\home_folders\*\thisfolder How can I accomplish this
Recently installed Webroot on new Windows 11 desktop, and also old Windows 7 desktop. Now I cannot scan from either PC. Printer works. I submitted a customer service inquiry and am awaiting a reply. My computer skills are not advance, so need help in simple language. I did check utility controls and everything is allowed. Will have to look for different anti-virus software if this isn’t soon fixed.
^ Title says it all.I have been using NBMiner for a little bit now.And its worked fine. However, around the same time I had a remote session to fix Battlefield 2042’s issues (Which by the way didn’t work, *Read below for that*) Webroot seemed to just ignore NBMiner’s whitelist and just close it anyway.I’ve whitelisted NBMiner.exe, CMD.exe, Eth.bat, etc. etc.Despite this, NBMiner still gets shutdown repeatedly, this is the same for TRex Miner as well.Is there any way to just say to the AV: “NO, NBMiner GOOD! NO DELETE PLS!”Because I can’t find a way… =Below this is about battlefield 2042=(*Read below from before*)Battlefield didn’t launch after the fix session, so after that I reinstalled it and it still didn’t work. I was told to call back, but the offices are now closed for the holidays. (I’m probably just going to wait on a new Webroot patch or EAC patch. (It would be nice to get some info on when that comes out))
I was contacted by a “Webroot representative “ telling me I owed $1,499 a year for the past three years after signing up for service in 2018.I was unaware of this obviously and told them i wanted to cancel the service. They said they would shut down my computer for 60 days if I did not pay. I still did not pay and a week later my laptop was shut down completely. i bought the laptop through Best Buy/Geek Squad and need assistance restoring my computer. Please assist in any way you can. Thanks,Hans Christenson
I replaced my hard drive a while back because my old one was dying. I wasn’t able to uninstall Webroot when I still had access and coming back now I don’t think it can boot up into windows at all. Is there at all a way to strike that instance off and recover my key to use elsewhere?.
We’re having a problem installing some software and the dimwit at the help desk wants us to interrogate the Windows Ransomware app though she knows we have Webroot. We’re being denied access with something along the lines of “Your IT department has blocked access to this app...” which is silly because there is no IT department here and both of us have administrator privileges for this computer. I was wondering if this is really Webroot taking charge of security. The Webroot report shows no suspicious activity in the past two years. Is there any value to pursuing this problem further or can we rely on Webroot’s report wrt “ransomware”?
My dad has Webroot on his PC, but he decided he no longer wanted it. He uninstalled it, but continued to get popups about the software. He has also tried:Removing the software from his registry files based on instructions from a forum post Removing other traces of the software manually from his computer Getting help from Geeksquad who tried helping for 3+ hours to no avail This morning, not only is Webroot not yet gone, it ran a scan on his computer.Could someone point me to a thorough uninstallation guide to remove every trace of the program? Or is there an easier way to do it in one shot?
Hello, I no longer require the extra features or devices of Webroot Internet Security and am looking to downgrade to the lower cost Webroot Antivirus. Do I simply purchase Webroot AV and input the key on my current Webroot Internet Security install? Will it require uninstalling and reinstalling the product? Thanks!
Hello,I just created a Webroot account, and message board account just to post this question.Today (December 12, 2021) I renewed my Webroot Secure Anywhere Antivirus coverage via a digital download activation key. (3 computers, 2 years). The 3 computers now have the new, extended coverage, however, the Webroot secure anywhere solution agreement pop up keeps popping up even though I keep pressing the ‘agree’ button. Once, I noticed it popped up 3 times in about 5 minutes. I never had this issue when I was on the previous activation key. It’s Webroot Secure Anywhere CE 21.4 and its software version 22.214.171.124 “latest version I read another similar question posted here, from November 2020, but Webroot didn’t answer, the author of the original question posted that Webroot recommended they uninstall, then reinstall Webroot, which is very inconvenient for me to do with all 3 computers.Part of the reason why I decided to ‘register’ the key and create a webroot account was in the hopes it might
I'm trying to change settings in the Desktop access control menu. I know the password for my webroot account on the web, but I can't make changes within the Desktop application itself using that same password. I would like to be able to reset the Desktop App password. I have tried using the app Advanced settings (Access Control) to Reset to Default but it stops me right there by asking for my password, which I don’t have. Can someone help me with this please?
I’ve used SecureAnywhere for many years on my Win7 SP1 PC, shields & firewall are all turned on. Works fine, except for 1 thing: Sound in Firefox and Chrome doesn’t work. If I shut down protection, the sound works immediately, in YouTube for example. Why?Sound in apps works fine - eg in Spotify’s app on my PC, the sound is fine, but if I go to Spotify in a browser instead, I get no sound unless I shut down SecureAnywhere.
I purchased a 2 yr 3 PC Webroot subscription from a Software Vender Through a large national retailer web store. SO I get an email with instructions to click on a site to down load the webroot software but when I do the Webroot I already have installed on my computer warns me not to go to that site so I do not. The Email I got from the Vender I bought Webroot Secure anywhere from the had me click here to get another email with the Key codes so then I copied and pasted a key code from that email into my Webroot Account Keycode place and so far the account expiration date has not changed can you please tell how to get my new key6 code to be accepted by Webroot Thanks
Does the page that the transfer is finished give a key code? I bought the renewal by going on the webroot page from the “renew now” on the status, but the subscription still says expired. Help? Is it not an instant renewal or what?
Longtime user of Webroot on Win10 (all required updates installed)., no other antivirus software installed. On Nov. 26, a web site popup warned “Computer Infected by Virus”. Shutdown, rebooted, and ran Webroot Secure Anywhere CE 21.4., version 126.96.36.199. No infections found. Rebooted in Safe Mode. A momentary arrow showed, then stopped, and Webroot would not load & run; no error popups, or similar. Shutdown again, and repeated, with same result. I don’t see many viruses, but when I do, the above is my default procedures. My last infection was Jul. 27, 2019, and Webroot executed in Safe Mode then, as it did prior to that infection (probably less that 2-3 earlier times total). What do I need to do to cause Webroot to execute in Safe Mode, Win10, and what caused it to stop?
For almost a month I have been struggling to find out why I could not use my OnGuard VPN connection with UCLA. I had long calls with IT personnel, who could not fix the problem. At the same time, Thunderbird, which I used to access my Bruin Online email, stopped working. Finally, I tried deactivating Webroot. Lo and behold, both OnGuard VPN and Thunderbird worked again! To put it mildly, I am not very happy with Webroot right now. Any explanation?
Hello,I am writing this from information given to me from my grandfather so I apologize if this is a bit vague, I will do the best I can. Over the weekend my grandfather got a call claiming they were from microsoft and that his computer had a virus and that he needed to follow their instructions to remove it. This involved uninstalling his current anti-virus and installing a suite of programs including Webroot. They then asked for a large sum of money for the virus removal and activation of the new anti-virus software for a 5 year warranty period. All of this was done over the phone and he did not write any of it down so we have no clue what the key was that they gave him or any other relevant information. The only info they gave him for future contact was the geek squad number, and when he tried to call the number they have no record of the transaction (of course). Is there any thing we can do to potentially find the key that they gave him and the details of his subscription; if there

Google Search items that deal with deletion of unneeded users are related to older versions of Webroot. It appears that customer support need to remove an errant or out of date user from Webroot Secure Anywhere Home. I did not realize that I could change the email address for an existing user, so I created a second one with intention to delete the first. But there seems to be no way to do this from within the pc browser area. I decided not to change the email login on the original but am now left with the latter address which seems to be irremovable.PB
So my son has the PC version of Xbox Gamepass, and he recently downloaded the new game Back4Blood. Attempting to load it, though, results in a splash screen with easy-anti-cheat logo that completes the load -- and nothing else. Searching for this issue, many answers point back to Webroot as not allowing this to run. The “solution” is to uninstall Webroot. Is this a known issue, and if so, can we expect it to be patched soon, or is the “solution” to uninstall Webroot?

Hello All,I’ve used Webroot Secureanywhere for about 4 years now. Recently, after Windows 10 updated to KB4023057 and KB5005611, my Webroot shortcut disappears off the screen, and the whole program disappears off my list of programs. I run the installer, which is still in my downloads, and it won’t run/open. When this first happened a few days ago, after researching for a solution for hours, I ran all my antivirus programs such as Malwarebytes and Superantispyware, and they found nothing. So, I did a system restore in safe mode to get rid of the two new updates, and my Weboot came back and worked no problem….anyone have any ideas? Oh, its a HP laptop, Intel i7-7700 2.8ghz, 12gb RAM, 128gb SD drive, and a 1 TB standard, high speed hard drive, Intel HD graphics, and a GEOForce GTX video card….4 years old….
