My son is away at college, not living with me. He had Webroot on his last computer but recently got a new one. I have room on my account to add a new user/computer. He and his email are listed under Users. His user shows: 2FA: disabled; Secure Anywhere: Admin; PC Security: Admin; Mobile Security: No Access; Passwords: Access. (I changed him to an admin so that he could add himself to the extra user available.)He doesn’t have a password — perhaps he has one and has since lost it. He tried to get a new password sent to the email on file. It asked for certain characters of the security code. I provided the code I have. It didn’t work for him, so he couldn’t get in to download and set up. Additionally, I am in the U.S. and he is in France. How is this sort of thing done? Do I need to give him my user/password/key so that he can download the software? This seems prehistoric. Should be easier so I must be missing something. Any help much appreciated.
I’ve renewed my Webroot Subscription today 3-Devices/3 Year package, unfortunately, one of the PC’s not showing in Webroot SecureAnywhere Portal. All 3 devices are running Windows 10 with update (OS Build 19042.789), and all three devices appear to be working in their respective Anti-Virus security modes (All GREEN - no Amber or Red colour backgrounds), however when I access the Webroot SecureAnywhere Console only 2 PC’s are showing!I’ve uninstalled Webroot on the one PC with the problem and re-installed with default settings and it’s COMPLETED a scan whilst to finish off the install as recommended, rebooted the PC and the software looks fine as if ALL is ok, however this 3rd PC still doesn’t show in Webroot online console, any ideas anyone?
Yesterday I uninstalled my scanner software from Add Remove/Restart Now-When Win started a transparent WSA GUI flashed twice (took no action???).Then about 12min after startup I get a Win Notification saying all AV’s are OFF Check Now, and WSA is back on. Then today on 3d Reboot I get the same 2 WSA flashes, and 12 min notification! This is why I left WSA last time!- What should I do different?
My computers Reliability Monitor logs are flooded with the following error:Windows Installer installed the product. Product Name: Core. Product Version: 1.1.227. Product Language: 1033. Manufacturer: Webroot. Installation success or error status: 1603I can’t run a manual update either. I did see the other community entry about deleting the WRData folder but that has not helped. C: drive has plenty of space and I am not seeing any other issues.
I make calls through Google Voice when at home since I have no phone signal. I recently renewed my WebRoot subscription and the platform updated to the 2021 version of Webroot SecureAnywhere Antivirus (according to the interface.) Suddenly my microphone no longer works when I’m using it in any browser. I tested various browsers, disabled browser extensions, and checked both browser/Windows microphone permissions. Microphone does not work until I turn off WebRoot. Something in the software is blocking my microphone and I cannot figure out which setting it would be. The help page on WebRoot’s different “Shield” settings is vague and hasn’t given me any answers; I did find another community post from years ago here that had a similar issue that recommended checking Active Connections, but as the browsers do not appear as active connections in the interface, this solve hasn’t worked for me. Would definitely appreciate help, since I cannot narrow down which setting it is and it is ridiculou
Has the system which, as it was and usually is, been changed in favour of the Green W (top right corner icon) followed by or as visible by an assurance green tick and the legend that it is safe to proceed. My normal Green ticks against items shown as drop down options via my Browser (Chrome) have been down for 4 days now ,as opposed to what usually happens is just a few hours commonly over a weekend.
Hello everyone. I have a small autohotkeys script that I wrote and then turned into an executable to run at start up that pops up a window and asks me if I want to continue when I hit a key while a program window is open. I have had it running for about 1 year and this morning webroot has told me that it is positive for W32.trojan.gen. Could this be a false positive? If so what do I do? If not what do I do. I have a current subscription to webroot and run windows 10 proThank you.
On Windows 10 Home machine running in Normal mode (old Dell desktop that had had WSA running well for years) , having difficulties even while logged on as Administrator in (1) uninstalling WSA or, then, (2) installing latest version; also cannot Turn On WSA as a Security Provider (Windows Defender on and ); 3 machine license still good, now only 2 of the 3 in use (the 3rd having been the Dell).Seems Windows 10 is not recognizing the (local account) user as an Administrator, even though the user is an Administrator; also, when Windows 10 pops up a window asking “Do you want to allow this app to make changes to your device? “, nothing happens if “Yes” is answered; also, tried Control Panel → Programs → Programs and Features to uninstall but message pops up to say “it is necessary to log in as an administrator to use this feature” - again, user is a (local account) administrator.Any suggestions? Is this perhaps a Windows 10 Home issue? (latest update 2020-12)

Star Wars Squadrons won’t launch for users of Web Root. EA has fixed this issue twice and now re-introduced the problem once again. I believe the problem is related to the Easy ant-cheat software the game uses. Simply turning the anti-virus off won’t allow the game to launch, Webroot has to actually be uninstalled for the game to launch until EA does whatever magic it needs to resolve the issue again. If they even do so.Has anyone else encountered this problem with EA games or the Easy anti-cheat software? Is there some other way to resolve the issue that doesn’t involve relying on EA?I like using Webroot and don’t give it up, but if it’s going to cause issues in launching games I love, I may need to seek alternatives.
