Reliability Monitor: Webroot. Installation success or error status: 1603
My computers Reliability Monitor logs are flooded with the following error:Windows Installer installed the product. Product Name: Core. Product Version: 1.1.227. Product Language: 1033. Manufacturer: Webroot. Installation success or error status: 1603I can’t run a manual update either. I did see the other community entry about deleting the WRData folder but that has not helped. C: drive has plenty of space and I am not seeing any other issues.
Webroot blocking microphone
I make calls through Google Voice when at home since I have no phone signal. I recently renewed my WebRoot subscription and the platform updated to the 2021 version of Webroot SecureAnywhere Antivirus (according to the interface.) Suddenly my microphone no longer works when I’m using it in any browser. I tested various browsers, disabled browser extensions, and checked both browser/Windows microphone permissions. Microphone does not work until I turn off WebRoot. Something in the software is blocking my microphone and I cannot figure out which setting it would be. The help page on WebRoot’s different “Shield” settings is vague and hasn’t given me any answers; I did find another community post from years ago here that had a similar issue that recommended checking Active Connections, but as the browsers do not appear as active connections in the interface, this solve hasn’t worked for me. Would definitely appreciate help, since I cannot narrow down which setting it is and it is ridiculou
Bug report: certain apps crash with Access Violation at WRDll.x86.dll
Certain apps crash randomly at the address within the web root injection DLL (WRDll.x86.dll). I was able to capture the following crash dump from one of the apps. webfoot cannot connect to internet to complete scan, but its on the internet
When attempting to scan I receive the message: The scan failed. SecurityAnywhere cannot reach the internet to obtain threat information. Yet when I click Read Now tab to figure it all out it takes me directly to the internet. How to I get it to scan? This has been going on for days now. I have had Webroot for nearly a year without problems. I am using a MacBook Air OS X 10.9.4 Pat
Green tick security assurance system
Has the system which, as it was and usually is, been changed in favour of the Green W (top right corner icon) followed by or as visible by an assurance green tick and the legend that it is safe to proceed. My normal Green ticks against items shown as drop down options via my Browser (Chrome) have been down for 4 days now ,as opposed to what usually happens is just a few hours commonly over a weekend.
Autohotkeys script now is W32.trojan.Gen Positive
Hello everyone. I have a small autohotkeys script that I wrote and then turned into an executable to run at start up that pops up a window and asks me if I want to continue when I hit a key while a program window is open. I have had it running for about 1 year and this morning webroot has told me that it is positive for W32.trojan.gen. Could this be a false positive? If so what do I do? If not what do I do. I have a current subscription to webroot and run windows 10 proThank you.
WSA Uninstall / Reinstall Issues on Windows 10 Desktop
On Windows 10 Home machine running in Normal mode (old Dell desktop that had had WSA running well for years) , having difficulties even while logged on as Administrator in (1) uninstalling WSA or, then, (2) installing latest version; also cannot Turn On WSA as a Security Provider (Windows Defender on and ); 3 machine license still good, now only 2 of the 3 in use (the 3rd having been the Dell).Seems Windows 10 is not recognizing the (local account) user as an Administrator, even though the user is an Administrator; also, when Windows 10 pops up a window asking “Do you want to allow this app to make changes to your device? “, nothing happens if “Yes” is answered; also, tried Control Panel → Programs → Programs and Features to uninstall but message pops up to say “it is necessary to log in as an administrator to use this feature” - again, user is a (local account) administrator.Any suggestions? Is this perhaps a Windows 10 Home issue? (latest update 2020-12)

Windows 10 does not list Webroot in control panel under SECURITY
Every since the last time I installed Webroot I have to manually allow it to run every time I turn on the computer. After I allow it after a short time its Icon shows up in the bar at the bottom of the page so I assume it is working. Extensions are turned on but I have never seen one when searching with Chrome or Microsoft new Edge. I got a short notification that all my protection was turned off and go to Security on the control panel. I manually went to the Control Panel SECURITY section and pressed the down arrow. It just says pretty much everything is OK and nothing was found in the last scan. However, I noticed that WEBROOT is not listed at all, nor is any other antivirus (like Defender). Should there not be a listing of active antivirus programs?
cylance smart av killed webroot
i have webroot secure anywhere. i was curious to play with cylance smart av and installed it. it quarentined webroot and killed it (webroot still has a service running, but will not start or do anything). i removed it from quarantine and whitelisted webroot in cylance. webroot is still broken. i redownloaded the webroot installer to reinstall and fix it. it downloads, but when I click it, nothing happens (clicked as administrator). i uninstalled cylance smart av and repeated everything I previously mentioned, but nothing changed, webroot doesn’t load. i’m thinking cylance changed a permission or something on the webroot file so it will not run. is there an alternative webroot file for installation? and like a dumdum, I didn’t have that computer listed in my webroot web console, otherwise I might have been able to see if I could cause it to scan remotely (and appear for me, lol). at this point, lets just say I can’t install webroot to fix the broken installation currently on my laptop.
Star Wars Squadrons won't launch for Webroot users
Star Wars Squadrons won’t launch for users of Web Root. EA has fixed this issue twice and now re-introduced the problem once again. I believe the problem is related to the Easy ant-cheat software the game uses. Simply turning the anti-virus off won’t allow the game to launch, Webroot has to actually be uninstalled for the game to launch until EA does whatever magic it needs to resolve the issue again. If they even do so.Has anyone else encountered this problem with EA games or the Easy anti-cheat software? Is there some other way to resolve the issue that doesn’t involve relying on EA?I like using Webroot and don’t give it up, but if it’s going to cause issues in launching games I love, I may need to seek alternatives.
Anyone losing their proxy setting in WRSA when entered manual?
Anyone losing their proxy setting in WRSA when entered manual? We installed Webroot without proxy settings and changed them as some computers are in a Healthcare network and require proxy….But somewhere in a version upgrade of Webroot something changed. We are now losing the manual entered proxy settings (maybe due to policy?)But we cannot find any setting to force it either trough a policy or registry? We install most of our agents with RMM Kaseya so we do need this to work properly…Any suggestions? We allready have a support ticket in place but this is an urgent problem so we could use more help.
Can't remove WebRoot
I cannot uninstall webroot from a customer's computer using add/remove programs. I tried "C:Program Files (x86)WebrootWRSA.exe" –uninstall" and it says "are you sure you want to uninstall" and I say yes, then it says it's being managed by the central console and I have to make the changes there. BUT, the machine doesn't' show anywhere in the console. It was remove from console but it didn't remove software from the workstations.
