Webroot runs FOREVER on Win10 Startup
I have a 16GB 2TB SSD Win10Pro 64bit chip and OS.Webroot always (!!) runs forever on restart or cold-boot. What’s “forever” or couple hours +++. Via Task Manager I can’t stop it; I can’t re-prioritize it; I can’t pause it; I can’t do anything but reboot then it goes on its sucking up my CPU 100%++ and slowing my SSD down to an absolute crawl. I am beginning to intensely hate Webroot inspite of many great things it has done for me in the past many, many years. So,I did modify my Startup options and things are better.. a little but I have NO, (ZILCH, NADA) trust in Webroot at Startup anymore!!!!!First, how can I terminate it when it’s running since I have Admin privileges but not the Admin?I turned off these and Restarted:Webroot Installer (got reset to ON after my restart): High ImpactWebroot Installer (got reset to ON after my restart) Why do I have TWO listed?: High ImpactWebroot SecureAnywhere (still turned off but the Webroot System Tray icon is ‘active’ afaik)
WebRoot not in System tray& not hidden, Can't open program, Startup: status is "enabled"
Wondering if a virus disabled WebRoot from running. Yesterday Firefox said it needed to run an update and when I opened a new web page from a Search, I was warned it was a dangerous web site. I did NOT run the Firefox “update” and have not been reminded to run that “update”.Today, Windows warned me that no antivirus program is running. WebRoot is not showing in the system tray & it is NOT hidden. Task Manager, Startup tab: WebRoot is “enabled”.Go to Windows, Start, WebRoot Secure Anywhere to start the program, & nothing opens up.Restart computer & same.Control panel, Security & Maintenance, Virus Protection says “View in Windows Security”. Click on that & “Virus Threat & Protection Settings” says, “No action needed”. Shouldn’t it say something about WebRoot???
Unable to uninstall to reinstall SecureAnywhere W10
I am trying to reinstall SecureAnywhere and and am unable to uninstall as a first step. When I attempt to uninstall I receive this message: “it is necessary to log in as an administrator to access this feature”. I am full Admin on this machine. I get this using message using every method to uninstall.I have tried the standard uninstall in“Apps and Features”.Using command prompt as administrator in safe mode with networking "C:\Program FilesWebroot\WRSA.exe" –uninstall. In safe mode with networking trying to delete the folders manually as per this thread: https://community.webroot.com/webroot-business-endpoint-protection-20/unable-to-uninstall-287436 but when trying to delete C:\Program Files\Webroot I get a error message that the folder is in use. This is with Webroot disabled in the startup and task manager. And in checking the processes to confirm it is not running.Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. I have opened a ticket with support and also tried calling but after a long wait

Renewal will not take on Windows 10
I purchased a Webroot SecureAnywhere renewal on 8/3/2020. On my Windows 10 system, many times since then Windows Security informed me that my subscription has expired. On at least 2 occasions, I updated the key code in the Webroot application, the expiration date was extended and Webroot ran a scan and everything seemed good. The next time I restarted the computer, Windows again indicates the subscription expired. Now, although I see Webroot running in Windows Task Manager Processes, I cannot start run it from the menu as I get a "must be run by an administrator" message - even if I run it as administrator. I also no longer see it in the hidden task bar applications running.I should also mention that from the Windows Security, Security Providers page where it says "Your subscription to Webroot SecureAnywhere has expired", if I click on the Open App or Renew buttons, Windows asks for permissions to run WRSA.exe but nothing happens - Webroot does not start up.How do I get Webroot to
What time to schedule Auto Scan?
Win 10 Home 64 bit, MBAM Premium (WSA on trust list, and Ransomware real-time disabled). Shutdown every evening, and normally restart 4-times before browsing… I installed WSA late in the day, and somehow Auto Scan is scheduled for 7pm?I start browsing... much earlier, and would like to know my system is clean (without having to do a manual scan)! What time should I re-schedule my scan for?BTW- MBAM auto-scheduled their scan for 2am, so it scans 5min after cold startup.
Secure Anywhere not functioning after a re-install
Hello,I removed Webroot Secure Anywhere from my Desktop PC as recommended by Microsoft when trying to update Win 10 (which failed yet again!) I have just reinstalled Webroot but have run into problems. It now says that my subscription has expired but that is incorrect as it was renewed on June 7th this year and the website console confirms that with 429 days remaining. Under the Scan and Shields tab, I an unable to turn on any of the features presumably because of the claimed expiry. It won’t scan either. I have contacted Customer Support but have not received a response in the 24 hours since contacting them. Is there an issue with their support?Geoff in NZ
How long to get a response from support?
I logged a ticket on Aug 11th NZ time and still haven’t had a response. Webroot has been having an issue since Aug 4th, where every 15 minutes it attempts to install something and fails (there are 2 msi files thats having problems), which interferes with my USB devices (headset, so messes up audio etc). I’ve tracked down the logs but the support portal doesn’t have anywhere to upload logs or screenshots to. If I quit webroot, the problem goes away.
Hello,I’m on Win7 and have been running SecureAnywhere for several years without a problem. After a recent renewal I keep getting these error messages from MSI :Product: Core -- Error 1722. There is a problem with this Windows Installer package. A program run as part of the setup did not finish as expected. Contact your support personnel or package vendor. Action CA_WRCA_INSTALL, location: C:\Windows\Installer\MSI6B39.tmp, command: /Install "C:\Program Files\Webroot\Core\\" Checking the MSI log (my Windows Temp folder is filling up with them), I find this info :Product: Core -- Installation failedYet the application seems to be running okay.I suspect some file(s) has been changed to a newer version during the re-activation.What to do ?
I renewed my webroot but it still shows expired
My webroot was expired a few weeks ago and I decided to renew it. I activated my keycode like a week ago but I still go messages like "New threats everyday”or whatever. I thought maybe my laptop was going crazy or something and didnt pay much attention. Today I opened the app but now it's all red and it says that it's expired? I put my keycode again and everything turned green again and it was said that the keycode is activated but when I restarted and it showed that it's still expired. I renewed on the official website
Offline Shield still repeatedly disables itself
Good afternoon, All.I saw the discussion from 7 years ago and no, that didn’t work for me.Offline shields are disabled and remain so despite repeated attempts to enable them. Webroot has been uninstalled. Computer rebooted. Webroot reinstalled. Issue persists whether Admin or user accounts. Same issue with “prevent any program from modifying HOSTs file” under “Settings” subheading “Shields.” Clicking either button under “Support/Community” crashes Chrome. I have an Acer Nitro 5. I have Malwarebytes Pro. I have a message into Webroot Support. Front page of Webroot GUI says “Protected” with a big, green check mark.Do I actually need Offline Shields? Chasing this is really making me want to test the tensile strength of my computer.Any insight would be greatly appreciated.Thank you.
System Analyzer scan states "updates are available for your system & have not been installed"
After running System Analyzer, I received an orange screen with the message "updates are available for your system & have not been installed". I attempted to install updates but was informed that they were done automatically & I couldn’t manually update. After checking the community web, I was unable to find any reference to this plus any info on manual updates. No other recourse was found so I uninstalled Webroot & reinstalled it. I again ran System Analyzer & received the same message. I’ve had Webroot for years & never had this happen. I just did a Windows update. Could this be the trouble? How do I rectify this issue? The orange-red screen with the oversized explanation point looks ominous. Hopefully, the aforementioned screen will be pasted below. HELP!!!!….Bonnie
