About once a day my Webroot tray icon displays an exclaimation point. Upon opening the program, the red "Threats Detected" screen is displayed, listing Active threats = 1 (sometimes more). *However* If I initiate a scan, it says no threats were found! Also, a review of the Quarantine log does not show any recent entries. After the scan the main screen is green again, and no threats are indicated. What gives?? Why is this happening, and where can I look to see what is triggering Webroot to tell me that Threats are Detected???
I went to Best Buy yesterday to get my Mac fixed. I bought the Web Reboot Secure Anywhere and the lady helping began the process after typing in the code. She said I was free to go and the computer would take awhile to scan. However, the application has been saying "Scanning for viruses and Malware" and "Preparing to Scan" for over 24 hours and nothing is happening. What should my next step be?
This problem on a Mac Pro, OSX ver. 10.11.6 when I logged in i got a pop-up saying, "a problem with the installation has been detected. Please re-install the application". When I enter my 20 character code, click "Agree and Install" I get another message stating "An error has occured while attempting in instal SecureAnywhere". and "Failed to get latest version" When I go to the console no scan is showing, clicking certain buttons causes the programto crash sending me back to to the pop-up above asking me to re-install SecureAnywhere. any ideas?
Hello, First, I want to mention a, Thank You, to Baldrick and others who helped me get rid of annoying popups. I haven't had trouble with popups since early January, so that is great, thank you so much!! Secondly, there is a new issue. When I wake my computer up in the morning I go straight to Webroot and run a scan everything is good. Last infection was 3/19 and was resolved. When I go onto Chrome I get the Suspicious Attack Ahead message from Webroot, with the choices of Get me out of here or Tell me more about it. I haven't even gone to a site yet. just gone to Chrome. When I check the Tell me more about it, it doesn't give me any information. So, I run another scan, and nothing show up. So, then I go back to Chrome and the Suspicious attack message doesn't usually come up again, until the next morning. Why am I getting the message, but then not able to get any information on what the issue is? If the scans are coming up clean, why am I even the message? Thank y
I was.gifted a copy of Malwarebytes anti-malware Premeium and was wondering if it will run fine since I already run webroot ? Will it give me anymore protection? After updating Win 10 to version 1909 on November 12, 2019, the following issues have occurred with SecureAnywhere:I am getting repeated notifications that SecureAnywhere is turned off even though it is shown as running when I check the Security Settings. SecureAnywhere is also causing a slow loading of many websites using Firefox, Chrome or Edge. For example, a high overhead site like ESPN takes over 10 secs to load. Turning off the WEB shield has no effect. If SecureAnywhere is turned completely off the site loads in about 2 secs, as has been the case before the Win 10 1909 update. Additionally, after the new installation, my first use of a program (e.g., Excel) results in very slow loading of the application; however, the second time I load the program it starts very quickly as expected.I have observed these issues on both my desktop and laptop computers. I spoke with Webroot technical support today (November 14) and was told that Webroot is aware of the first issue. The other
Hi I am TD. I have been using computers for many years. I recently had a message pop up on my computer several times. I keep deleting the messages usually 3 messages pop up and the caption reads as follows. "There was a problem starting C:PROGRA~1COMMON~1SystemSysMenu.dll" The specified module could not be found. Has any body ever had this happen? Is there a way to fix this? Please help? TD
I'm guessing it had something to do with the windows update on November 13. However, everything read so far says lsass.exe does not access the internet. Webroot support says no infections were found on the system but wouldn't comment on why it might be acccessing the internet.
spy and malware warnings from firefox and Internet explorer. also warnings not to make purchases on line. should i be concerned, i called the # they gave, and they wanted to charge me, and i replied, i am with webroot , and i have protection, so i will let them check it out, because i have been with ya'll for 3-5 yrs and still going, so i trust you and no one else, well besides the geek squad, they r good people as well. thanks!
Just as the title describes, the installation screen for Webroot pops up every 30 seconds onto my desktop. It used to reopen everytime I closed it. The amount of times this screens opens is making my computer unusable. This feels like it is worse than having an actual virus. *I am running windows 8, not windows 8.1 *Webroot has been uninstalled from the computer and is no longer found on the programs list. *I have used their "upgrade" utility in trying to fix, no luck. Ran it in safemode as well. No luck. *No folders for webroot can be found on the computer *all startup entries and processes related to webroot have been disabled or deleted. *The goal is to REMOVE this program. *I do not know my keycode. Can anyone help?? Their support team sent me installation instructions for a MAC after I clearly pointed out I am using windows 8. Someone, anyone, please help!!
I reinstalled WSA (latest download) on both workstation and laptop. But none of them appear on the webroot online control panel. As I don't want to reinstall from the computer icon on the control panel (i.e. with reconfiguring everything again), how can I make them appear again ?? Thanks
I have Webroot installed and for some reason cant open the dashboard, So i have tried to uninstall have tried so many different ways but also get “it is necessary to log in as an administrator to access this feature” as this is my home PC i am logged in as admin. Any help greatly appreciated.
I have a file C:ProgramDataWRDataPKGSafarNEW_webfilter.safariextz that webroot says is clean, but everytime I move it, I find a new file has been created in the original location (above), which makes me suspicious whether this is a legit file or not. Is there a way I can upload my file to you so you can have a 2nd look and check it out more closely on your end?? If so, how do I do that?
Today I find I cannot download to read Word Documents and PDF files on the Web or attached to emails; not even files I could open yesterday. I get a box reading that my Security Settings are blocking these downloads. When I went to Best Buy's Geek Squad for help (they sold me my Webroot program in May 2013) they wanted me to download a program to connect with my computer but the same box appeared, blocking the download. How can I change the security setting so I can get these downloads? JAMES HODL
