Back-up and sync

Hello all

Sorry if I'm being a bit dim but is there a simple way within backup to just choose a series of folders to be backed up, such that all files within those folders are backed up without having to set a series of filters for various file types. Let's say, for argument sake, that I have a single folder I wish to archive that contains a variety of file types. Is there a simple way of archiving just that one folder? Would it just be simpler to synchromise instead, even if that folder is not now being updated?

Any advice welcome.

Thanks.

Hey Chrisr,

It would be best to sync the folder even if it is not being updated. In the future we will be gaining more and more useful features as we gain more insight from customers like you.

Would you be interested in creating an idea for this functionality in the Ideas Exchange? I want this feature as well and we might as well start giving it kudos and get it noticed early on! :D

Let me know if you create one and I will give it a kudos.
Does anyone know if Chrisr's idea was posted in the Ideas Exchange? The only related idea I can find is the one in the link below. I am mystified by a backup routine that does not offer the ability to select all files within a folder or folder tree, and I have no need or desire for synchronization at present.

I couldn't find the idea. So I've posted it myself. Thanks.

Thanks for creating the idea Amit and thank you TeeJay for pointing out this topic.  There actually is a way of backing up all file types in a given directory, which I've explained in the idea that was created for this issue.

That is the way I use the backup feature: I just select the folders I want to sync/backup.
