Hi danlanigan

Welcome to the Community Forums.

Is it just with WSA that you have no apparent internet connection?  Are you able to use a browser and get/send email?

Hello @  if no other security app (or firewall for example) is blocking Webroot from accessing the internet, then a clean install would probably be best  Webroot Secure Anywhere Context Help
Assuming browsers etc are working ok (as Baldrick said).

Let us know if you need more info, or if you got it fixed.

Thanks.

Still having a problem.  I forced Webroot to quit.  Then tried to reload from my CD.  When I clicked to install, it told me that there was a newer version available, so I clicked to download that.  I got a pop-up asking me for my activation code, so i entered that and clicked Activate button again. It looked like it was working for a few seconds then returned me to the error pop-up which says" A problem with the installation has been detected.  Please re-install the application."  This pop-up asks again for my keycode, which I entered.  But I am stuck in this loop.  Clicking Activate after entereing keycode let's thing start for 1-2 seconfds.  Then i get the error pop-dagain.  I have cycled through this 3-r4 times with the same result.

And to answer Baldrick's question:  I can use internet for web surfing, email, etc.  It was just WR that told me it could not reach internet to get threat data.  No other applications had problem getting to internet.

Welcome to the Community,

Can you please do a clean reinstall of WSA and Please follow the steps closely!

 • Make sure you have a copy of your Keycode
 • KEEP the computer online for Uninstall and Reinstall to make sure it works correctly
 • Download a Copy Here (Best Buy Subscription PC users click HERE)
 • Uninstall WSA and Reboot
 • Install with the new installer, enter your Keycode and don't import any settings as you can set it up as you like once it's done
 • Let it finish it's install scan
 • Reboot once again
Please let us know if that resolves your issue? If not then we will look at alternative avenues to try and solve this for you.

Thanks,

Sherry,

The instructions you included for uninstalling and re-installing WR included a link which had me download a .exe file.  I have a Mac, not a PC, so this .exe file does me no good.  I've already tried to reinstall from my CD and that's where i am having a problem now.  This darn error pop-up keeps popping up about every minute, no matter what I am doing (other things like reaponding to your suggestion, reding email, or looking at other websites).

I think I need another suggestion.

Would you please do a uninstall and reinstall of Webroot? To fully uninstall the application from the Mac, simply move the icon from the Application's menu to the trash. After doing so, you will be prompted to 'Uninstall' the program. By confirming this window you will remove the additional information from the Mac Library where we store some of the files needed, including the log data.

Mac - How to Install SecureAnywhere

You can install SecureAnywhere on Mac OS X 10.7 and above. An Internet connection is required to install the software.

To install the software:

 1. Click here to download the SecureAnywhere installer to your Mac.
 2. Double-click wsamac.dmg to open the installer.
 3. Drag the Webroot SecureAnywhere icon into the Applications folder.
 4. In the first activation window, enter your keycode and click Activate.
 5. If prompted, confirm the installation by entering your Apple system password and click OK.

Now it's time to create your account:

 1. You only need to create an account if you plan to use the Password Management feature (see Getting started with the Password Manager for more information). Or, you can click Skip and create an account later.
 2. In the next panel, you can install a Safari extension that allows SecureAnywhere to tag search results as safe, questionable, or unsafe. With this extension, SecureAnywhere lets you know if a website has a reputation for spreading malware or for phishing attempts. We recommended that you click the Install Safari Extension button. If you installed both extensions, two Webroot icons appear in the browser toolbar. The example below shows how the icons appear in Safari and Chrome; the icons in Firefox look slightly different. (You can hover your mouse over the icons for pop-up descriptions.) This icon indicates that the Web Threat shield is enabled. For more information, see Using the Web Threat Shield.   in your menu bar.

In addition to the clean install advice (which is correct), I saw this thread which mentions a server issue: https:///t5/Webroot-SecureAnywhere-Complete/Cannot-install-on-MAC-error-cannot-download-latest-version/m-p/80327#M5904

So it could be that a support ticket may be best if re-install is unsuccessful.
